Laminated glass may be used in any application requiring safety glazing, while providing additional benefits of UV protection, security and sound control. Upon breakage the laminated glass fragments adhere to the interlayer securing the opening and shielding occupants from exterior elements, unlike tempered glass. Laminated glass is created by bonding glass a polyvinyl butyral interlayer between layers of glass using heat and pressure to form a single piece of glass. Laminated glass may be used in insulated glass as well.
