Blumcraft's Series 1301 tempered glass doors have 3/4" high top and bottom rails to provide a "MORE GLASS ... LESS METAL" look. Series 1301 doors are versatile, as they can be adapted for Dorma BTS-80 or Jackson 900 floor closers, adjustable pivots, and door position switches. With slight modifications to the top rail, Series 1301 doors are also adaptable to center-pivoted overhead closers, standard walking beam top pivots, electromagnetic and electromechanical locks.
Series 1200 doors are designed to use 1/2" thick tempered glass up to 12'-0" high. These tall doors are controlled by standard floor closers. The weight of the door is borne by a heavy duty load bearing cement case independent of the floor closer. A variety of Blumcraft deadbolt and panic hardware is adaptable to Series 1200 doors.
Series 250 doors have full width solid top and bottom rails and very thin vertical stiles bonded to glass and are available in aluminum, bronze clad, or stainless steel clad. The doors are furnished in either 1/2" or 3/4" thick tempered glass. For doors over 8'-6" preliminary drawings should be sent to Blumcraft for review. Series 250 doors are adaptable to most overhead/floor closers, automatic operators, electric deadbolts, electromagnetic locks, and door position switches. Contact our sales department to insure compatibility. All Blumcraft panic devices, deadbolt housings, and locks, except CH-800 center housings, are applicable to Series 250.
This transom supporting technique has been developed by Blumcraft to give the entrance a clean glass look. The narrow metal member supporting the transom glass is suspended by small stainless steel rods concealed in the joints between the transom glass and the sidelights. A highly reflective finish of the B-1250 transom bar will further minimize the presence of supporting members as it blends into the reflection of the glass. Electric strikes can be used with transom in combination with Blumcraft panic devices and deadbolt housings. Transom bars can be mounted to walls or framing.
Blumcraft's H-100 Panic Devices, DB-100 Deadbolt Housings and DH-100 Dummy Handles are fabricated using 1-1/4" diameter stainless steel or architectural bronze tubing. Satin and highly polished finishes are available. Statuary bronze and powder coated finishes are also available.
H-100-A, H-100-B, H-100-C, H-100-D, H-100-F Panic Devices

Blumcraft railglass is a structural glass balustrade system that can be provided fully factory fabricated and glazed with tempered glass. The base components are manufactured from aluminum and furnished factory drilled and tapped. Standard mounting bolts are provided. A variety of top rails and handrails are available. Blumcraft recommends consulting with local code officials for load and rail requirements. Refer to structural load capabilities for glass panel sizes. Contact Blumcraft for information regarding glass panel sizing and base mounting bolt requirements.
This unique system utilizes 1/2" tempered glass or plastic panels suspended from a heavy duty handrail without the panels being attached to the floor or steps.
Although our two piece base systems are preferred, Blumcraft offers 3 one piece base shapes for use when installation of the glass must be done at the building site.
Blumcraft offers aluminum posts and balusters that can be grouted or side mounted. Slotted posts and balusters provide vertical adjustment of rail height. Round posts or balusters are available with rail connections either centered or offset.
Blumcraft’s wide variety of aluminum handrails can be factory fabricated but are available in 12’-0” or 20’-0” stock lengths. These rails have a double T-slot which accepts AFN fittings, T-bars for splicing, and filler strips for a finished look.
Post Spacing — for 1-1/4" ips pipe; not to exceed 3'-0" as measured on slope of stair, and not to exceed 3'-0" for level railing: for 1-1/2" ips pipe; not to exceed 4'-0" as measured on slope of stair, and not to exceed 4'-0" for level railing.
Aluminum handrails with provisions for recessed fluorescent or incandescent lighting can be used in combination with glass or plastic panels, posts, and wall brackets. As an option, edge lighting can be used with glass or plastic. The large space in the handrail provides easy application of lighting units with sufficient illumination. Lamps can be easily replaced. The handrails are heavy duty with a wall thickness of 3/16” and are without any exposed screws. Finishes are available in satin aluminum, anodized clear and bronze Duranodic shades.
The gates operate on the principle of being anchored to the floor only. An adjustable cement case for a Dorma BTS-75V or BTS-80 floor closer is supplied to allow the center pivoted gate to be plumbed, leveled, and adjusted after installation.
Advantages of Blumcraft’s Two Piece Smoke Baffle System
The two-piece smoke baffle system isolates tempered or laminated glass panels against the shock of building movement.
The SB-200 assembly permits easy glass panel replacement as the two sections are bolted together. The bolts are hidden by attractively finished filler strips.
For safety, the glass panels are securely bonded and mechanically attached to the removable portion at Blumcraft’s factory. No exceptions to this policy!
Smoke baffle systems are built in strict accordance with shop drawings prepared by Blumcraft’s engineering department.
Over 80,000 projects some including our Glassier doors with minimal metal, expanded hardware line, display case doors, and glass/metal railings grace the finest buildings in the world.
