Overview:
Cambridge Architectural is the only domestic manufacturer of engineered architectural metal fabric systems. To properly design with and specify a Cambridge Architectural system, you must: first, identify your application; second, select attachment hardware; and third, specify a metal fabric pattern. Systems include: Corporate Branding, Facades, Landscape Interiors, Security and Safety, Solar Control, Space Sculpting, Ventilation, and Elevators.
Specifying a System
To view and download metal fabric pattern and attachment hardware data sheets and to request written specifications visit www.cambridgearchitectural.com and go to downloads.
Cambridge Architectural's engineering department can assist with installation details, framing design, and load characteristics, and is also available for on-site installation supervision.
Since 1917, metal fabrics have been designed, engineered, and fabricated in Cambridge, Maryland. Prior to 2001, these metal fabrics were primarily used for industrial applications. In 2001, Cambridge Architectural was created, as demand for architectural mesh began to skyrocket.

The Green Team develops and promotes architectural mesh façade systems than can meet the most current credit requirements of LEED-NC (Version 2.1) Green Building and Sustainable Design Rating System. Since many credit categories require integration with other products, our green team provides consultation and direction on a project-by-project basis to maximize LEED credits.

Cambridge Architectural Landscape Interior systems distinguish large interior open spaces. They enhance heating, ventilation and air conditioning, provide open views, promote security, guide foot traffic, permit space sculpting and perform as decorative interior facades.
Landscape Interior systems also provide unique lighting opportunities to add excitement and drama to a space. LCD projectors can even display video information directly onto the surface of reflective metal fabrics.

Cambridge Architectural Solar systems subtly shade people from the harsh light of day or reduce the spill of floodlighting at night. Solar shading reduces a building’s heat load, cooling requirements and energy consumption.

Cambridge Architectural Security and Safety systems provide a more user-friendly restraint than alternative steel bars, opaque louvers or glaring glass. For example, metal fabric cannot shatter into razor-sharp shards. When used in an exterior application, such as a stairwell tower, rainwater washes it clean and shiny. One cannot fall through it and it is capable of supporting heavy weight loads. Where blast mitigation or high wind speed is a factor – as in coastal regions – Cambridge Architectural also provided engineered and patented systems for these applications.

Cambridge Architectural Ventilation systems are at once open and closed. Whereas louvers are not, because louvers ordinarily obstruct views. Cambridge Architectural Ventilation systems are both functional and beautiful. In fact, these systems are so naturally effective that, in many instances, fan motors can be downsized or eliminated. As designers strive to go beyond the ordinary without sacrificing utility, they look for new methods and materials. Cambridge Architectural Ventilation systems are clearly, beautifully compliant.

Dramatically defining space with Cambridge Architectural Space Sculpting systems creates a transition between environments instead of a separation. Functionally, these Space Sculpting systems help manage foot traffic, create utilitarian and peaceful space through its mere suggestion, shade the sun, mask industrial elements and complement building security.

Cambridge Architectural Facade systems may be designed to shade, provide fall protection, reflect dramatic lighting, reduce maintenance cost and enhance corporate identity. Facade systems are also ideal for facade rehabilitation. Cambridge Architectural Façade systems literally provide new dimension as functional design elements.

Cambridge Architectural Corporate Branding systems are a perfect vehicle for presenting and showcasing corporate identity. In addition to acting as a two- or three-dimensional mounting surface, the metal fabric, itself, can be laser-etched or sandblasted to become the presentation. Or lighting effects can be projected onto the reflective surface for added drama.

Cambridge Architectural Elevator systems are high-traffic, working machines – packed full, banged into and busy. Cambridge Architectural offers great looking protective wall coverings that can stand up to this kind of abuse for generations. Cambridge Architectural rigid metal fabrics, made of stainless steel, add texture and depth in and around elevators. The material is woven exactly like a fine fabric, yet it is practically indestructible, providing an ideal protective wall covering solution with little if any maintenance required.

Eclipse®
|
Eclipse is tension attachment hardware providing tailored edges for expanses of flexible metal fabric. Custom cut apertures receive the metal fabric ends in tubing that is integrated into a bracket and structural support design.
Compatible metal fabric patterns: Balance, Cubist, Mid-Balance. Scale, Shade, Stripe

Railway
|
Railway attachment hardware uses stainless steel cable to suspend and hold panels of metal fabric under tension.
Compatible metal fabric patterns: Balance, Mid-Balance, Scale, Shade, Slink, Stripe

|
|
|
Scroll®
|
Scroll is tension attachment hardware that keeps the focus on the metal fabric by hiding the attachment behind it. Scroll conceals the bracket that attaches to the structural support.
Compatible metal fabric patterns: Balance, Cubist, Mid-Balance, Scale, Shade, Stripe

Talon
|
Talon is tension attachment hardware for cable/rod metal fabric patterns. Talon grips a reinforced rod at the top and bottom edges.
Compatible metal fabric patterns: Braid, Matte, Rope

Velocity
|
Velocity attachment hardware is engineered specifically for coastal areas that are subject to hurricane force winds. The patented attachment is designed to re-tension the metal fabric automatically after high wind conditions have passed.
Compatible metal fabric patterns: Balance, Braid, Cubist, Mid-Balance, Scale

Curtain
|
Curtain attachment hardware attaches flexible metal fabric to concealed hooks and permits it to roll smoothly along the track length as a window treatment or draping space divider. Compatible metal fabric patterns: Mid-Balance, Shade, Slink, Tailor

Reelease
|
Reelease attachment hardware provides the ability to lower or raise metal fabric with the touch of a button. A concealed overhead-mounted motorized reel both releases the metal fabric downward and retracts it upward for concealed storage.
Compatible metal fabric patterns: Mid-Balance, Scale, Shade, Slink

Panel
|
Panel attachment hardware is made by attaching closed metal fabric to a substrate such as Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). Z-clips join panels to the substructure.
Compatible metal fabric patterns: Channel, Circuit, Plaza, Stipple, Tidal
