Overview: CertainTeed is one of America’s leading producers of fiber glass insulation used in Residential, Commercial and Mechanical/HVAC markets for both new or existing buildings. Our product line includes fiber glass batts, blankets, blowing products, fiber glass insulation for HVAC duct systems and MemBrain™ - The Smart Vapor Retarder. Our insulation products have achieved GREENGARD™ Certification for superior indoor air quality (IAQ) performance.
Fiber glass building insulation is intended for use in either residential or commercial construction as thermal and acoustical insulation in ceilings, walls and floors. The product is available unfaced or kraft-faced and is designed for use in standard wood stud and steel frame assemblies.
CertainTeed MemBrain SMART Vapor Retarder is a vapor retarder sheeting intended for use with unfaced, vapor permeable mass insulation (fiber glass and mineral wool) in wall and ceiling cavities.
Moisture that becomes trapped in wall cavities can lead to mold growth and related problems – including structural damage, callbacks and liability issues. DryRight insulation from CertainTeed helps reduce the presence of one of the key components for mold and mildew growth – moisture – by allowing excess moisture in wall cavities to escape. DryRight, is available in both batts and rolls.
This product is intended for use in either residential or commercial construction as thermal and acoustical insulation in walls. These batts are designed for use in standard width wood framed construction where a vapor retarder is needed. The batts have kraft-paper facing without flanges and can be friction-fit between wall studs for non-exposed applications.
The TrueComfort system comprises fiber glass blown-in insulation and the blowing machine used to install it. The machine is portable and simple to operate, and the insulation is super-expanding, requiring fewer bags than other competitive products to achieve the same R-value. Remodelers and Do-It-Yourselfers (DIYs) can rent the machine and retrofit attics saving homeowners up to 20% on energy costs.
High-Performance Fiber Glass Building Insulation Batts are intended for use in walls and cathedral ceilings where maximum thermal performance is desired and limited space is available.
These products are designed for use in commercial and residential wall and ceiling assemblies to effectively reduce transmission of airborne sound and provide thermal insulation. They provide excellent acoustical performance to help reduce sound transmission between adjoining rooms. These lightweight, flexible products are easy to handle and fabricate on the job site and conform to irregular surfaces. The permanent, inorganic glass fibers will not rot or deteriorate.
Basement Wall Insulation is designed for use in semi-finished or unfinished residential and commercial basement areas. The product is available either with a white reinforced polypropylene facing or a reinforced foil facing, both of which can be left exposed and are preforated.
Masonry Wall Insulation is designed as unfaced fiber glass insulation for use behind paneling or in masonry-type construction where cavity depth is limited. No stapling is required because the batts fit tightly between furring strips.
The OPTIMA® system of fiber glass blow-in insulation is designed for installation in sidewalls, cathedral ceilings, floored attics and other closed cavity applications. It is pneumatically installed behind non-woven OPTIMA fabric (or equivalent).
InsulSafe® SP Fiber Glass Blowing Insulation is used in residential and commercial construction as a thermal and acoustical insulation. It is designed for pneumatic installation in open attic areas and for retrofitting enclosed sidewall and floor/ceiling construction assemblies.
ToughGard® Duct Board with Enhanced Surface is a rigid board designed for fabrication into supply and return air duct work for residential and commercial heating, ventilating air conditioning systems which operate at velocities up to 5,000 fpm (25.4 m/s) and temperatures up to 250°F (121°C) and maximum internal pressures of ± 2" (51mm) water gauge.
CertaPro AcoustaBlanket Insulation is a black fiber glass blanket with an abuse resistant black surface used in commercial construction for acoustical control in theatres, studios, and the entertainment industry. It has a black Class A surface for exposed applications.
CertainTeed CertaPro AcoustaBoard Black is used for sound control in theaters, studios and entertainment facilities. The rigid board has a Class A surface which can be used in exposed applications.
CertaPro AcoustaTherm Batts are designed to enhance acoustical and thermal performance in exterior and interior walls, and improve sound transmission loss over suspended ceilings.
Thermafiber® Safing Insulation is a mineral-wool-type insulation that resists temperatures up to 2,000 oF (1,093 oC) thus offering superior fire protection in a wide variety of fire-rated applications.
Thermafiber® Sound Attenuation Fire Blankets (SAFB) are the best way to stop sound in wall and floor-ceiling assemblies. Because this product is manufactured from slag, a by-product of iron ore reduction, and naturally occurring rock, the mineral fiber in these blankets are highly resistant to fire. Many of the systems this product is used in have high fire ratings as well as sound ratings.
CertaPro Commercial Board is used where board stiffness properties are required and also functions as an exterior insulation when covered with a weather barrier. Commercial Board is used in exterior curtain walls, interior walls, floor/ceiling assemblies and as an exterior insulation on HVAC ducts and plenums or in constructions where framing is not present. It is also used as thermal insulation on tanks and vessels.
ToughGard Duct Board with Enhanced Surface is a rigid board designed for fabrication into supply and return air duct work for residential and commercial heating, ventilating air conditioning systems which operate at velocities up to 5,000 fpm (25.4 m/s) and temperatures up to 250°F (121°C) and maximum internal pressures of ± 2" (51mm) water gauge.
Designed for fabrication into supply and return air duct work for both residential and commercial heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems. CertainTeed duct board products can be fabricated into square, rectangular or multiside sections. Standard, factory-molded male and female shiplap edges ensure tight and strong fabricated transverse joints.
Composed primarily of long, textile-type glass fibers firmly bonded together with a thermosetting resin and overlaid with an extremely tough and durable fire-resistant black composite air stream surface.
ToughGard R Duct Liner with Enhanced Surface is used primarily as an acoustical liner in HVAC sheet metal ducts to absorb unwanted crosstalk, equipment and air rush noise. This product can be used in most types of heating and cooling duct systems, operating at velocities up to 6,000 fpm (30.5 m/s) and temperatures to 250°F (121°C).
A rigid, board-type insulation composed of resin-bonded glass fibers with a durable black mat facing applied to the air stream surface. It is used to line large sheet metal ducts and plenums.
CertaPro AcoustaTherm Batts are designed to enhance acoustical and thermal performance in exterior and interior walls, and improve sound transmission loss over suspended ceilings.
CertaPro Partition Batt Insulation is a 11/2" thick fiber glass blanket used in commercial construction for acoustical and thermal insulation in shaft and partition walls.
These light density batts enhance thermal and acoustical performance in exterior and interior walls and floor/ceiling assemblies where a vapor retarder is needed. Kraft Faced batts are for non-exposed applications.
