Temp-Master® ASHRAE 90.1 and IECC® 2012 Compliant Insulated Rolling Door image

Temp-Master® ASHRAE 90.1 and IECC® 2012 Compliant Insulated Rolling Door

The newest addition to the Cookson product line, Temp-Master, takes prevention of energy loss and thermal transference to a new level. As the only rolling door design independently tested to meet ASHRAE 90.1 and 2012 IECC (International Energy Conservation Code) Section C402.4.3 Air Infiltration requirements, Temp-Master features a patent-pending sealing system - thermally broken guide construction and insulated curtains (with foamed in place insulation) - to minimize air infiltration and thermal transference through openings.

With an independently tested value of less than .4 CFM/FT2, Temp-Master provides 94% decrease in air infiltration as compared to standard products. Project specific post-industrial and pre-consumer recycled content values are available for each door, and Temp-Master components are easily recyclable.

Rolling Service Doors

Cookson's custom Rolling Service Doors are hand-made with superior design. Every Cookson door is built with heavy-duty, quality materials. Each service door includes: 50,000 life cycle design, structural angle guides and bottom bar, cast iron gears and stops, fabricated steel brackets, 20 psf wind loading, and our exclusive FinalCote™ finish. Special doors are also available for sizes up to 70' wide and 100' high as well as high cycle and ultra high cycle applications.

For exterior walls that will be exposed to the elements, we recommend a Cookson service door that includes full perimeter weather stripping. Weather stripping reduces thermal transfer and energy costs while protecting against wind-driven rain and debris. The Cookson Company guarantees its products from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from date of factory shipment.

Insulated Service Doors

The full perimeter seal of Cookson's Insulated Service Doors provides energy efficiency benefits and also reduces sound transmission. A flexible, solid foam astragal fits into the guides at the bottom of the door to assure a complete seal across the opening. Seepage of air around the hood is minimized by a waterproof hood baffle that resists tearing and cracking and maintains flexibility in winter.

Cookson Insulated Service Doors are filled with solid insulation, resulting in a flame spread not greater than 25 and smoke generation less than 50. The Cookson insulation system also includes snap-on guide weatherstripping made of heavy duty vinyl extrusions designed to reduce air infiltration and dust at various temperatures.

Fire Door Product Systems image

Fire Door Product Systems

The Cookson Company, Inc. offers two types of fire door systems to meet the requirements of any fire door opening.

Simple-Test Manual Fire Doors
This group of fire doors requires manual resetting by a trained technician after the system has been tested or actuated. All Simple-Test Fire Doors feature Cookson's exclusive Sure-Close release spring, which can be reset with an open-end wrench from one side of the door. Available in Push-Up, Chain and Crank operation, Cookson's Simple-Test Fire Doors are more reliable and easier to reset than any other manual reset fire door, thus reducing resetting time from hours to minutes.

Auto-Test Fire Door Systems
Cookson Auto-Test Fire Door Systems reset automatically after being tested or actuated by smoke detectors or building alarm systems. Once the alarm has been cleared the fire door system automatically resets and is ready for the next test or actuation. Auto-Test Fire Door Systems eliminate the need for a trained technician to test and reset the fire door, thus reducing testing and operating costs.

ACE™ (Access Controlled Egress) Emergency Response Grilles image

ACE™ (Access Controlled Egress) Emergency Response Grilles

The Cookson Company's ACE (Access Controlled Egress) Grille offers the security of a regular grille with automatic opening during an alarm situation for emergency egress. Now grilles can be used to secure areas of a building without the fear of entrapment in the event of an emergency. Activated by Building Alarm, the ACE Grille is wired into the central building alarm system when there is an alarm situation. Upon alarm activation, if the ACE Grille is closed it will automatically open to the fully opened position without the use of a motor or battery backup system. This fail-safe system will operate in the absence of power. The areas secured by the ACE Grille will then be accessible for emergency egress.

The ACE Grille meets all of the standards for Fail-Safe devices. It will open during an alarm activation or during a power failure without the use of any external forces. It automatically resets itself once the alarm system is reset and power is resumed to the ACE Grille motor operator.

The ACE Grille utilizes Cookson's M100-FS motor operator while in normal mode and can be controlled by a number of devices including push button and key activated control stations. The ACE Grille offers controlled operation during normal mode and automatic opening while in emergency mode. A sensing edge will reverse a closing grille if it comes in contact with a person or object. ICC-ES evaluation report ESR 2980 verifies that Cookson's ACE Grille complies with the 2009 International Building Code for access controlled egress grilles.

Security Rolling Grilles image

Security Rolling Grilles

Cookson rolling grilles are an example of Cookson's uncompromised commitment to quality and value because they have been manufactured with the same proven materials and designs for decades. The grille curtains are still made of 5/16" solid aluminum rods rather than hollow rods and the links are still 1/8" or 3/16" thick aluminum shapes rather than thinner gauge materials. The aluminum extruded guides and bottom bars are still made of heavy-walled shapes. You can buy a cheaper grille, but you can't buy a better grille.
