Composite Floor System

D500™
Hambro Structural Systems, Div. Canam Steel Corp. Composite Floor System<BR><BR>

The Hambro D500™ composite floor system is an advanced, up to date answer to elevated concrete floor construction. Combining Hambro composite steel joists with poured concrete, the system consists of normal weight concrete/steel T-beams running in one direction and an integrated, continous slab in the opposite direction (see drawing). The bottom chord (Fy 350 MPa min. or Fy 50,000 psi min.) acts as a tension member during the pouring stage and during the service life of the floor system. The web, tying top and bottom chords together, consists of bent rods Fy 300 MPa min. or Fy 44,000 psi min.continuous by design), and resists vertical shear in a conventional manner. The patented 13 gauge top chord (Fy 350 MPa min. or Fy 50,000 psi min.) acts as a compression member during the non-composite stage. In the composite stage, the top chord is embedded in the concrete and functions as a continous shear connector. The concrete slab is reinforced with welded wire mesh. The top chord functions as a "high chair", developing negative moment capacity in the concrete slab causing it to behave as a continuous, one-way reinforced slab.

Lightweight Composite Floor System

D510™
Hambro Structural Systems, Div. Canam Steel Corp. Lightweight Composite Floor System<BR><BR>

The D510™ composite light weight floor system is an advanced, up-to-date answer to elevated floor construction challenges. Combining a Hambro cold-formed mini-beam section with poured concrete, the system consists of hybrid concrete/steel T-beams running in one direction and an integrated continuous slab in the other. The mini-beam section (Fy = 50,000 psi (350 MPa) min.) is a cold-formed piece including bottom chord, top chord and web plate. The top part of the mini-beam acts as a compression member during the non-composite stage. In the composite stage, the top part of the D510 is embedded in the concrete and acts as a continuous shear connector. The concrete slab is reinforced with welded wire mesh. The top chord part of the D510 acts as a high chair, developing negative moment capacity in the concrete slab which performs as a continuous one-way reinforced slab.

The MD2000® composite floor system is an advanced up to date answer to elevated floor construction challenges. Combining Hambro steel joists with poured concrete, the system consists of concrete/steel T-beams running in one direction and an integrated continuous slab in the other (see terminology). The bottom chord (Fy 50,000 psi min.or Fy 350 Mpa min.) acts as a tension member in the concreting stage and during the service life of the floor. The web system tying top and bottom chords together consists of bent rods (Fy 44,000 psi min. or 300 Mpa min.) and resists vertical shear in a conventional truss manner. The patented 13 gauge top chord (Fy 50,000 psi min. or 350 Mpa min.) acts as a compression member during the non- composite stage. In the composite stage, the top chord is embedded in the concrete and functions as a continuous shear connector. The concrete slab is reinforced with welded wire mesh. Composite Girders

Hambro Composite Girder

Hambro Structural Systems, Div. Canam Steel Corp. Hambro Composite Girder<BR><BR>
Developed for the multi-residential and commercial markets, the Hambro girder acts as a principal beam supporting the Hambro joists which are installed perpendicular at regular intervals on each side. The advantage of the new composite girder is that it offers greater spans than the conventional steel girder while maintaining a minimum depth to adapt to the Hambro joists.
