Homasote 440 Sound Barrier® is controlling sound in millions of square feet of floor and wall/ceiling assemblies. It is a special-density, structural board made from 98 percent recycled cellulose. Homasote® board, with twice the R-value of wood, also is uniformly manufactured with protection against termites, and resistance to mold, mildew and moisture.

440 Sound Barrier® controls sound in floors, walls and ceilings. a medium-density, sound deadening board, listed under ESR-1374 by the International Code Council, made from post-consumer cellulose fiber. Homasote 440 Sound Barrier is UL listed and appears in the UL Fire Resistance Directory in the U305, U 309 & V305 wood stud walls and in the U411, U465 and V448 metal stud walls; all with hourly fire-ratings. 440 Sound Barrier is also in most of the L500 series hourly UL floor/ceiling assemblies, installed over the structural sub-floor. This panel can be used over concrete subfloors also. 440 Sound Barrier can be used under any finish floor, even ceramic tile.
A structural, noise-deadening subfloor and insulating underlayment made from multiple plies of Homasote® structural building board permanently bonded under extreme pressure with a water-resistant glue, trimmed to size and shaped with tongue-and-groove to form floor decking panels. 4-Way is used as a structural sub-flooring in low-rise condominium and apartment developments, motels, nursing homes, professional buildings and private homes, especially where noise control is a prime consideration.

A resilient board that cushions hard concrete, yet is structural and durable enough for heavy traffic and moving furniture. The single-ply concrete flooring system is perfect for finishing basements or improving concrete slab floors, increasing the floor surface temperature with twice the insulation of wood, and reducing foot, leg and back pain caused by standing, sitting or walking on concrete floors. The uniquely engineered bottom surface provides a built-in ventilation system, which allows concrete to breath naturally without causing panels to curl or bow.
ComfortBase is easy to apply over concrete floors; following our float method for installation under carpet and pad eliminates the need for stubborn mechanical fasteners. ComfortBase may be also used with laminate floors, following manufacturers' installation instructions.
DesignWall 550® panels are elegant, prefinished interior paneling composed of Guilford of Maine FR 701 fabric laminated to ˝" Class A N.C.F.R.® structural Homasote. Homasote EasyPly® Roof Decking is designed for use as a structural, load-bearing decking in residential and non-residential buildings, room additions, A-frames and log homes for exposed beam construction, and for high-performance schools and offices where daylighting is designed into the structure. EasyPy comes with a 6 mil pre-finished surface of a decorative white "flitter" vinyl film.
A nailable UL Class "A" fire-rated structural roof deck, made of Homasote® structural board and a face ply of N.C.F.R. Homasote. Listed in UL P518, P535, P536 and P541 assemblies, it is designed for use as a structural, load-bearing deck in residential and commercial buildings that require a Class A (25 flame spread) rated deck.
Homex 300 is a unique material that does double duty as light duty forming material for walkways, patios pool aprons and driveways and as an expansion joint where masonry or concrete walls meet outside aprons, walks, patios or steps.
Homasote IceDeck® O.T. is a moisture-resistant structural panel that can be placed directly over indoor ice for temporary conversion of an ice rink for other activities. Once IceDeck O.T. is in place, concerts can be conducted directly over the panels or a wooden floor can be placed directly over the IceDeck O.T.. IceDeck O.T. is also used for application over artificial turf, gymnasium floors and tennis courts as a temporary cover. The natural resiliency and moisture resistance of Homasote IceDeck O.T. help protect both the surface underneath it and the surface placed over it.
A structural building board and substrate for interior or exterior application, offering constant insulation against air, moisture and noise penetration. It is an asbestos-free, UL fire-rated structural building board, UL listed (91G7) Wall Shield, and UL recognized component in floor protectors and wall shields. Fire-rated N.C.F.R.® Homasote is made with 65 percent recycled all wood fiber material completely infused with fire retardant chemical ingredients, treated for protection against termites, rot, fungus, and moisture absorption, and compressed into high-density, structural exterior building board.
N.C.F.R. Homasote qualifies for use in educational, institutional, museum, or other publicly attended facilities. It is ideal as a tackable wall and ceiling paneling, decorative or functional display wall and tack board, or tackable substrate for other fire-rated wall coverings. NovaCork panels are unique, interior panels that are completely finished and require no surface treatment. Consisting of a structural sheet of virgin cork laminated to 440 Homasote. It is perfect for homes, schools, offices, and hospitals - wherever large tackable areas are needed. NovaCork is available in a nominal 1/2" thickness.
Thermasote is a composite of strong, asbestos-free, insulating, weather-resistant, nailable 440 Homasote plus polyisocyanurate foam and a bottom facer of asphalt-saturated felt, fibrous glass, or foil.

Uses: Thermasote nail base insulation is designed for application over Homasote roof decking, wood, or other structural decking, to provide insulation and energy conservation. It is particularly useful as roof insulation in exposed beam systems where the most efficient location of insulation is above the structural deck, and the use of asphalt, fiberglass or wood shingles, slate or tile requires that they be installed over a nail base substrate. It can also be used as a sound deadening component in ceilings and floors.
