At Knauf Insulation, we take our commitment to providing products and services that conserve energy and preserve natural resources for a sustainable future seriously. That’s why we’ve taken sustainable insulation products to a whole new level with the introduction of insulation products made with ECOSE® Technology.
Knauf Insulation products have always been sustainable—made from sand, one of the world’s most abundant, renewable resources and a minimum of 40% post consumer recycled bottle glass collected from curbside recycling programs. And now, the addition of ECOSE Technology makes our products even more sustainable.
Increased Sustainability; Same Legendary Characteristics
ECOSE Technology is based on rapidly renewable bio-based materials rather than non-renewable petroleum-based chemicals traditionally used in fiberglass insulation product binders. It does not contain phenol, formaldehyde, acrylics or artificial colors; and reduces the binder embodied energy by up to 70% as compared to our previous products. ECOSE Technology reduces the expected Global Warming Potential and total embodied energy of EcoBatt Insulation by approximately 4%.

Knauf EcoBatt Insulation are thermal and acoustical products made from highly resilient, inorganic glass fibers bonded by a thermosetting resin. The products are available unfaced or with kraft, foil, or flame-rated FSK-25 (Foil-Scrim-Kraft) foil facings.
Knauf EcoBatt Staple-Free Batts are flange-less kraft-faced batts which friction fit between wood studs eliminating the need to staple in place. These batts are designed for use in standard 2" x 4" wood framed construction where the stud spacing is no more than 16" on center.
Knauf Acoustical Board Smooth with ECOSE® Technology is a thermal and acoustical insulation product bonded with ECOSE technology. It is a versatile product for thermal and acoustical applications such as office partitions, ceiling panels, interior panels and sound baffles.
Knauf Black Acoustical Board with ECOSE Technology is a heavy density fiber glass board insulation bonded with ECOSE Technology. The base board is amber with a black polymer top layer of glasswool, and a black overspray applied to provide a smooth, tough finish.
Knauf Wall and Ceiling Liner M with ECOSE Technology is a black flexible fiber glass blanket with a black mat facing adhered to one surface. It provides thermal and acoustical insulation and a visual barrier. Its smooth, tough surface resists damage during installation.
Knauf Insulation Jet Stream® ULTRA Fiber Glass Blowing Insulation is an unbonded, virgin fibrous glass blowing insulation designed with optimal thermal properties and excellent coverage and blowing characteristics.
Knauf Insulation EcoFill™ Wx Glasswool Blowing Insulation is an unbonded, virgin fibrous glass blowing insulation having a high degree of post-consumer recycled content, designed for weatherizing and retrofitting existing housing.
Knauf Insulation Board with ECOSE® Technology is a thermal and acoustical insulation product bondedvwith ECOSE Technology. It is available plain, with a factory-applied FSK facing, PSK (metalized polypropylene-scrim-kraft) or with a factory-applied all-service jacket (ASJ).
Knauf Insulation Earthwool™ 1000° Pipe Insulation with ECOSE® Technology is a molded, heavy-density, one-piece insulation made from inorganic glass fibers bonded with ECOSE Technology. It is produced in 3' lengths with or without a factory-applied jacket. ASJ+ is the newest generation all-service jacket composed of aluminum foil, reinforced with a glass scrim bonded to a kraft paper interleaving with and outer film layer leaving no paper exposed. A matching ASJ+ butt strip is furnished in the carton for each section. The jacket is white, and the longitudinal lap of the jacket has a self-sealing adhesive. Knauf Insulation Earthwool™ Redi-Klad® 1000° Pipe Insulation is a multi-purpose, molded, heavy-density, one-piece fiber glass insulation bonded with ECOSE® Technology. Earthwool Redi-Klad comes with factory applied 5-ply weather and abuse resistant jacketing with self-sealing lap. Earthwool Redi-Klad is designed for indoor or outdoor installation on mechanical piping systems with operating temperatures ranging from 0°F to 1000°F (-18°C to 538°C). Properly installed, Redi-Klad jacket provides a zero permeability rating. Earthwool Redi-Klad is produced in convenient 3' lengths with a matching 4" butt strip furnished for each 3' section. The installed product offers a finished appearance comparable to embossed aluminum. Knauf KwikFlex Pipe and Tank Insulation with ECOSE® Technology is a 48" wide semi-rigid fiber glass blanket, 2.5 pcf density, in roll form. It is available plain or faced with a factory-applied ASJ, FSK or PSK vapor retarder jacket. The fiber orientation provides excellent compressive strength while maintaining flexibility for ease of installation.
Knauf Pipe and Tank Insulation with ECOSE® Technology is a semi-rigid fiber glass board in roll form faced with a factory applied FSK or ASJ vapor retarder or a glass mat facing. The glass fibers are adhered perpendicular to the jacketing, for flexibility and easy installation.
Knauf ET Batt 1000° and Knauf ET HD Blanket 1000° with ECOSE® Technology are semi-rigid thermal insulations (1.6 pcf, 25.6 kg/m3), bonded with ECOSE Technology.
Knauf Elevated Temperature Blanket 1000° with ECOSE® Technology is a lightweight thermal insulation blanket (1.1 PCF, 17.6 kg/m3) bonded by a high-temperature thermosetting resin.
Knauf Elevated Temperature Board 850° with ECOSE®
Technology is a lightweight insulation (2.8 pcf, 44.9 kg/m3) bonded with ECOSE Technology. It is a semi-rigid, board-like form with superior handling properties andinsulating effectiveness at minimum cost.
Knauf Elevated Temperature Panel 1000° with ECOSE® Technology is a semi-rigid thermal insulation board (2.4 pcf, 38.4 kg/m3) bonded with ECOSE Technology.
Manson Alley Kat™ Air Duct Board is a rigid fiber glass board faced on one side with a foil-scrim-kraft (FSK) vapor retarder and with a lightweight black fiber glass mat on the airstream surface. It is used to fabricate rectangular or Max10 air duct systems. The product is offered in two stiffness ratings, EI-475 and EI-800.
Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board with ECOSE® Technology is used to fabricate rectangular or Max10 air duct systems. It comes with two stiffness ratings, EI-475 and EI-800. Both types are available with butt edge or factory molded male-female shiplap edges. The airstream surface of Knauf Eclipse Air Duct Board is treated with an EPA registered, anti-microbial agent that prevents growth of mold, fungus or bacteria in accordance with ASTM C1071, G21 and G22.
Knauf Friendly Feel® Duct Wrap with ECOSE® Technology sets a new industry benchmark for sustainable, high-performance, cost-effective insulation solutions. Easier, faster measurement of stretch-out lengths with KwikStretch® Markings on the FSK and PSK staple flanges.
Knauf Rigid Plenum Liner with ECOSE® Technology is a heavy-density mat-faced fiber glass board insulation bonded with ECOSE Technology. Its base board is brown with a black mat facing to give the airstream a smooth, tough surface, that resists damage during installation and operation.
Knauf Sonic XP™ Duct Liner with ECOSE® Technology is a flexible, mat-faced insulation bonded with ECOSE Technology. It is faced with a tightly bonded mat to give the airstream a smooth, tough surface, resisting damage during installation and operation. The encapsulant edge coating eliminates airstream flaring.
Knauf KB Blanket Insulation is a lightweight blanket of glass fibers bonded with ECOSE Technology. The products listed are manufactured single layer. However, some items with 24" and 48" widths can also be manufactured double layer. KB Blanket is used as thermal and/or acoustical insulation for appliance, equipment, acoustical, industrial, commercial and marine applications up to 650°F (343°C).
Knauf Equipment Liner M with ECOSE Technology is a brown flexible fiber glass blanket with a facing adhered to the air stream side. The product provides thermal and acoustical insulation while providing a smooth, tough air stream surface which resists damage during installation and operation.
Knauf Metal Building Insulation with ECOSE® Technology is a resilient, flexible unfaced blanket insulation made from inorganic fibers bonded by thermosetting resin. The blanket is suitable for application of facings and has sufficient tensile and bond strength for normal handling by the laminator and contractor. The blanket may also be used unfaced as additional insulation to fill voids in wall and roofs of metal buildings. When Knauf Metal Building Insulation is faced with a suitable vapor retarder, it can be installed in exterior wall and roof surfaces of pre-engineered buildings. The product may be used unfaced to fill voids in walls and roof cavities of pre-engineered buildings.
Knauf Hullboard with ECOSE Technology is a light-weight insulation board of 3.7 ounces per square foot per inch thickness with one surface designed to have either glass cloth facing applied in a fabricator’s facility or brattice cloth applied by marine insulation applicators in the field.
