Overview: MechoShade® Systems , Inc., is pioneer in the development of solar shading, including the development of its' hugely successful ThermoVeil® and EuroVeil® shadecloth lines and creative solutions to brightness, glare and solar control problems. Through the research and engineering capabilities that created the MechoShade system, MechoShade has become the only single source solar shading designer and manufacture of hardware, shadecloth and accessories. MechoShade is in the forefront of energy efficient solar shading design at the window wall to achieve personal, thermal, and visual comfort in conjunction with the more efficient use of natural resources. It is this reason why you find MechoShades in many “Green” projects, including those that have achieved LEED™ certification.
Energy conserving MechoShades and ElectroShades® work in harmony with the dynamic use of glass to improve interior environments with optimum solar protection, greater use of natural light, energy savings and those vitally important outdoor views so beneficial to human personal well-being and productivity.
MechoShade Systems offers an integrated system of visually transparent and room darkening roller screens that provide optimum solar protection with the functionality and design esthetics architects and designers worldwide desire. Whether you need a manual chain-driven shade for a typical window, a motorized mid-window alignment system for a curtain wall, a multi-zone shading control system for an entire office or a computerized solar tracking system for the entire building, MechoShade is the shade of choice for windows, skylights, greenhouses and atriums.
MechoShade has offices in Long Island City, NY and Phoenix, AZ with sales and distribution throughout the continental United States, Canada, Asia and Europe.
MechoShade® is the original manual chain-driven heavy-duty hardware system. Features include SnapLoc® mounting spline for easy shade band removal and reattachment and SnapLoc® fascia to conceal the hardware system. MechoShade's patented new Mecho/5 system is the only hardware and shadecloth system with a lifetime limited warranty, 100% replacement and no depreciation over the life of the warranty.
The Suburban/2's clean lines, care-free maintenance and high quality components are backed by a Ten -Year Limited Warranty that makes it a great value for a limited budgets and/or a tight space requiring a small profile.
Electro/1 and Electro/2 are available in Standard , Extended, and DoubleShade® bracket models with a 50mm tubular motor and the new Altus RTS motor for wireless switch control. Shades up to 180" (457cm) wide by 220" (559cm) high are possible with Electro®/1 and Electro®/2 Extended brackets. Electro®/2 is designed to work with our optional SnapLoc® fascia to entirely conceal the shade assembly in an exposed installation. Mecho® Extended manual shades and Electro®/2 motorized shades can be mixed under one continuous compact fascia.
Electro®/3 is ideal for smaller conditions which can show up anywhere including conference rooms, offices, cafes and boutiques, hospitals and residences.
MechoShade possesses a variety of Line Voltage Switches for basic control of shades equipped with standard, line voltage (120/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz) tubular motors. The motors wire directly to the switches that control them in a hardwired, homerun (direct) fashion and therefore do not require any intermediate controller electronics.
The MLC offers enhanced functionality over Line Voltage Switch controls by providing master control of large groups of motors while also enabling the integration of low voltage sensors, timers and third party control systems for higher level functionality.
A microprocessor-based 4-motor controller, specializing in multi-level control and uniformity while controlling standard tubular motors. The IQ/MLC offers a refined user interface for discriminating control of shade position, overlapping group control, incremental positioning, shade alignment and integration with other control systems and automation sensors. IQ/MLC's can be daisy-chained to work well from a single office to whole building control networks.
The I•CON is a logic-based, soft-managed system, utilizing state-of-the-art bus line technology for control of motorized shading. Each Intelligent Motor (IM) may be programmed with up to 7 unique addresses. There are 255 unique addresses available. All I•CON (Intelligent Motor Control System) components are UL recognized and systems tested.
MechoShade® offers a Remote Control line that provides motor control from a distance through the use of a hand held radio transmitter. Remote Controls are available as one, two, three or four motor controllers.
Special solutions for shading of monumental curved sloped and horizontal fenestration. Automatic and manual operations. Flat, soft-fold, accordion-pleated, top-down and bottom-up configurations.
A single tubular motor and spring system for angled, gravity drop or horizontal shades up to 6 x 8 ft (183 x 245 cm). As the motor in the cable take up tube pulls the shade band across the opening, it creates resistance as it tightens the opposing spring in the fabric tube, providing shade band taughtness. The size and weight of the shade will determine if idler rollers, guide cables and/or guide track are necessary.
The system consists of two cable take up tubes, one for each direction of travel, each with its own motor and drive cable and a fixed pleat at the head rail. A separate set of Spacer Cables keep the pleats properly spaced to a series of 1" (25mm) tubes sealed inside the shadecloth, while a Guide Cable keeps the shade tracking straight.
This system has only a cable take up tube with tubular motor and a fixed pleat at the head rail. The cable take up tube raises the shade by lifting the drive cables attached to the hem bar at the bottom of the shade. A separate set of Spacer Cables keep the pleats properly spaced to a series of 1" tubes sealed inside the shade cloth, while a Guide Cable keeps the shade tracking straight.

Side Channels are recommended when conditions require minimizing the light leak around the shade cloth. Ideal for A/V centers, training facilities and laboratories. Can be used on vertical, horizontal or angled shades.

Guide Cables and Guide Track are used depending on the size of the shade and/or site conditions. For example, Guide Cables are used to support a shade when there is no space between two side-by-side shades to accommodate a Guide Track.
Components and shadecloths to use with the MechoShade and ElectroShade systems in areas requiring partial or total blackout capabilities. Pre-fabricated Blackout Cassette Assembly with side and/ or bottom channels. Features a choice of custom-fabricated blackout shadebands of opaque all-vinyl and vinyl-and-fiberglass laminated materials.
Woven from vinyl coated polyester yarns, ThermoVeil® and EuroVeil® shadecloths are available in a wide variety of weaves, patterns, colors and densities designed to match the daylight transmittance of the glazing and the glazing orientation.
