Since the 1940s, Precision has been producing superior, commercial-grade, industrial-strength access products. Precision Ladders specializes in light-weight, low-maintenance, and high-strength aluminum products. While these products may be more familiar in commercial and industrial applications, they are also very common in many residential applications (both single-family and multi-family). These products are customized for the job requirements and always built to comply with the appropriate OSHA Code and/or ANSI Safety Standard.
*A test weight of 500 lbs. *Individual tread test weights of 1000 lbs. *No shear of rivets when tested at 2000 lbs. *11 gauge steel frame *A 5-3/16" tread depth *Availability of optional 2-HOUR FIRE-RATING.
The Super Simplex is the only stairway available with a frame complete with built-in treads custom fabricated to your exact distance from ceiling to floor above thereby accommodating dropped ceilings.
For secure access to your rooftop equipment, we offer a package unit consisting of a folding stairway, a custom frame to fit distance from ceiling to roof and a custom roof hatch factory-mounted to the top of the frame. This entire unit can then be dropped in from above, secured and flashed in for safe, comfortable roof access.
The Super Simplex is so reliable you can reclaim attic space for storage purposes without the need for a permanent stairway. Many national companies are already using the Super Simplex to maximize use of attic space. Some typical applications are: airport control towers, banks, better residences, bottling plants, churches, drug stores, government buildings, hospitals, laboratories, libraries, museums, restaurants, schools and retail stores.
Other optional equipment include *Security Door with piano hinge and padlock provision. *Floor brackets with pre-drilled holes for attaching ladders to the floor. *Safety Pole Fall Prevention Systems *Annodized Finish * Painted Finish.
Precision also provides roof access from a building's interior by combining an FL series ladder with a roof hatch.
Some important characteristics of these ladders are: *All components shall be aluminum alloy 6005-T5 *Stringers are 5" x 2" x 3/16" aluminum channel *Treads are from the same extrusion used on our Super Simplex Disappearing Stairway, 5-3/16" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" extruded channel with deeply serrated surface to maximize traction in a 30" clear width *Handrails are 1-1/2" diameter schedule 40 pipe *Mill finish aluminum *Available in pitches from 63 degrees to 75 degrees.
Available as options: *Wider tread widths up to 48" maximum *Other finishes: primed for field painting, enamel paint, annodized, vinyl safety striped *Safety textured handrail *Other tread materials: Checkered plate, grating.
The PLH hatch series provides the most economical means of accessing the roof from the building's interior when used with a Precision FL series ladder. The safety of the climber and ease of operation of the hatch were given attention in designing the PLH. A zinc plated cablock with a built-in inside handle is provided. Support arms found on some competitive hatches are not needed, therefore the space normally required by the arm is available to the climber.
The PSRH hatch series were engineered to be compatible with the Super Simplex Disappearing Stairway and the Precision Ships Ladder, as well as other "steep" ladders. As with other Precision products, each unit is tested in the plant to assure smooth opening and closing with one hand. These units are also provided with a 1 point cablock.
Metal-pan and poured-in-place concrete stairs have not been ignored by Precision. When this type of access is used, the PNRH series hatches should be used. The Super Simplex units that that require a roof deck opening of 5' 4" or longer would also use this model. Additional pressure intensifiers compensate for larger, heavier covers allowing the operation to be as easy as with a ladder hatch. Security is provided by a 2-point slam-lock.
