Since 1997, Stone Age Designs own Scagliola Stone Collection by Thierry François has been Showcased around the world as the company crafts antique-looking Scagliola Stone Fireplace Mantels, Range Hoods, and architectural details. Their secret mixture of crushed marble, limestone, and travertine is becoming the market leader in Scagliola, or "Scaglia’ which was originally manufactured by Italian Monks in the 17th Century.
Stone Age Designs’ Scagliola stone has the look and feel of hand-carved quarry stone and the elegance of the Italian Renaissance. It is easy to use and to install.
Scagliola stone is a blend of crushed marble, adding limestone and travertine to produce custom stone fireplace mantels, custom stone kitchen hoods, and molded stone kitchen hoods and accents that are not as costly as hand-carved stone. It can replace marble, Cantera stone, granite, limestone, and travertine.
Custom Stone Mantles by Stone Age Designs provide a custom look and feel to your fireplace and any living area where you want the old world elegance of custom stone. A molded stone mantel can give you the look and feel of classic Renaissance architecture with modern custom features.

Scagliola is a noble, authentic stone product that lends a sense of heritage to each and every design application we offer, from mantelpieces to kitchen hoods, as well as our many architectural accents.
Each piece is delivered with a copy of the original masterpiece's certificate of authentication which documents the origin and history of the antique original upon which the Heritage piece is modeled, and bears the stamped wax seal of François & Co.

Scagliola Stone™ columns can be used as interior decorative features in any residential or commercial design. With their exquisite texture of amazing clarity and depth, indistinguishable from natural stone, the Scagliola Stone™ columns from Stone Age Designs are particularly well suited for high-end projects where texture quality and attention to details are essential.
Each column is split either horizontally or vertically, with a separate cap, shaft and base. Columns are decorative and non load-bearing. They are designed to allow for installation around a structural post. Stone Age Designs’ Scagliola Stone™ columns weight significantly less than concrete or limestone columns and can be installed without reinforced concrete footings.
