Overview:
CONICA Sports Surfaces
The establishment of CONICA Produktions - und Handels AG in 1977 saw the first high quality liquid polymers produced in Schaffnausen, Switzerland, for synthetic sports surfaces. These would soon be highly regarded throughout the world.
In 1988, the company changed its name to CONICA Technik AG and since 2004, was part of Degussa Construction Chemicals, which in 2006 was acquired by BASF. Since mid 2006, the legal company name is BASF Construction Chemicals (Europe) AG, Division CONICA Technik.
For 30 years, CONICA has been developing, producing and supplying extremely reliable products for synthetic sports surfaces in all climatic conditions. The company is now a global market leader in this field.
The product portfolio includes intelligent system solutions for running tracks, multipurpose facilities, sports halls and indoor athletic facilities, playground and moulding binders, and products for artificial turf installations. The experienced CONICA team offers extensive support, technical service and jobsite supervision.

Out of season, athletes need to work under training and competition conditions comparable with outdoor facilities. As a solution to this problem, and in addition to its range of surfaces intended solely for indoor purposes, CONICA also supplies two standard systems:
- Outdoor surface systems which meet IAAF and DIN 18035/6 specifications and which benefit from our experience as the World's market leader.
- Spike resistant indoor sports surfaces for athletic halls that have been designed for the purpose and cope particularly with high levels of force dissipation.

On playgrounds, especially with swing and climbing apparatus, our first priority is to consider accident and injury prevention. Children are sometimes unpredictable and cannot see the dangers facing them.
Many tears can be avoided using specially designed surfacing. With the combination of surface colouring and design a pleasing atmosphere can be created for the child.
