WaterWay Drainage Mats in Roofing Applications image

WaterWay Drainage Mats in Roofing Applications

Galvanized metal roofing (zinc coated) is common in commercial building and especially susceptible to corrosion. In any climate, moisture can build up under the roof and cause damage to the structure. WaterWay mats can be incorporated as a spacer between the metal and roof sheathing providing a passage for moisture drainage while reducing water accumulation which causes corrosion. In cold weather, a cold roof surface is desirable to prevent the build-up of ice and the problems associated with ice dam backup. WaterWay mats create a thermal break and ventilation layer in the roof where the conduction of heat would normally occur. This characteristic reduces the potential for ice dams.

{{this.show}} {{this.hide}} Base Coats / Primers

"PRM" - Polymer Reinforced Mortar Dry-Mix

PRM is a powdered polymer reinforced adhesive and underlayment for use with acrylic finish coatings. PRM provides a strong bonding surface on several different types of foam as well as concrete substrates.

Use

PRM is used as a base coat, leveling and reinforcement for the Waterway Drainable Stucco assembly, EIFS and direct-applied systems, as well as an adhesive for some foam system applications.

Application

PRM is usually applied with stainless steel masonry trowels at a nominal 1/16 -1/8 inch. It can also be spray applied with proper equipment onto the substrate, then troweled to smooth out the surface. Over approved foam substrates and the Waterway Drainable Stucco Assembly, PRM should be used in conjunction with fiberglass reinforcing mesh.

Adhesive Applications

Apply to the backside of approved insulation board with a 3/8 inch notched trowel. Apply ribbons over the entire surface running parallel to the short dimension of the insulation. Immediately adhere insulation to properly prepared substrate using firm pressure across the entire surface making positive contact. Place the board on the substrate about 2-3 inches from desired finished location and slide into place to ensure positive contact. Stagger all seams and joints, avoid gaps in foam surface.

Base Coat Applications

Apply with stainless steel masonry trowels at a nominal 1/8 inch. PRM can also be spray applied with proper equipment, then troweled to smooth out the surface. Immediately embed Fiberglass Reinforcing Mesh into wet base coat, troweling from the center to the edges. Overlap mesh 2 inches on all ends and edges. Avoid wrinkles and smooth out wet base coat to a minimum 1/16 inch thickness over mesh such that no mesh pattern is visible. Apply an additional layer of base coat if needed to achieve minimum thickness and provide a smooth surface prior to finish coat applications.

Light sanding of the PRM is acceptable to achieve a level substrate for the finish coat; usually this is best performed the day after initial application.

Skim Coat Applications

Apply mixed PRM in an adequate thickness to smooth and flush out imperfections in the substrate below. Allow to dry completely (24 hours minimum) prior to Stuc-O-Flex Finish Coat application.
"Stuc-O-Base" - Base Coat Concentrate Wet-Mix image

"Stuc-O-Base" - Base Coat Concentrate Wet-Mix

Stuc-O-Base is a wet-mix concentrate that when mixed 1:1 by weight with Portland Cement is used as an excellent adhesive and underlayment for use with acrylic finish coatings. Stuc-O-Base uses a high quality acrylic polymer that provides a strong bonding surface on several different types of foam as well as concrete substrates, creating a strong level platform for finish coat applications.

Mixing

Stuc-O-Base should be mixed 1:1 by weight (equal parts) with fresh, dry Portland Cement type I or II. Product should be allowed to sit for 10 minutes, then remixed & used immediately. Avoid retempering after mixing the Stuc-O-Base. Application

Stuc-O-Base is usually applied with stainless steel masonry trowels at a nominal 1/16 -1/8 inch. It can also be spray applied with proper equipment onto the substrate, then troweled to smooth out the surface. Over approved foam substrates and the Waterway Drainable Stucco Assembly, Stuc-O-Base should be used in conjunction with fiberglass reinforcing mesh.

Primeseal Stain Blocking Primer image

Primeseal Stain Blocking Primer

Primeseal is a specialized primer / sealer designed to block staining and bleed-through caused by tannic acid, sheathing laminates and other substrate contaminates. Primeseal is also an excellent sealer for traditional cement stucco ensuring a uniform porosity and to retarding moisture or vapor penetration.

Use

Primeseal is applied to various substrates including polymer modified base-coat prior to Stuc-O-Flex finish applications. Offers uniform porosity of the substrate and extends working time of the finish coat, enhances uniformity in finished appearance.

{{this.show}} {{this.hide}} RENEW® Paint

RENEW® Breathable Elastomeric Acrylic Paint image

RENEW® Breathable Elastomeric Acrylic Paint

Complies with MPI Sections: #113 / #38 / #40

RENEW is an elastomeric topcoat similar in appearance to your typical latex paint, while providing substantial elastomeric properties in a pre-colored, extremely durable weathering membrane.

RENEW is a water-based pure acrylic formulation identical to Stuc-O-Flex finish excluding aggregate. It provides maximum crack bridging ability in a Low VOC paint type coating, with thermo-plastic and elastomeric properties allowing building movement while maximizing resistance against cracks.

No product contains more pure acrylic polymer than RENEW. In fact we blend different polymers together creating just the right balance of stretchability and strength.

The product is thoroughly tested by independent laboratories against water penetration, wind driven rain, mold, mildew, salt spray, freeze thaw cycles, accelerated weathering, vapor permeability and bond strength. Even classifies as "Class A Fire Rated". This coating creates a beautiful new appearance in any color providing years of service life absent any required maintenance. Regardless of climate this resilient finish provides a stretchable barrier against water penetration and is perfect for new construction or enhancement of existing walls.

Breathable Elastomeric Acrylic Finish Woodpecker Deterrent image

Breathable Elastomeric Acrylic Finish Woodpecker Deterrent

BeakGuardA - Revolution in product development:

Finally a technology in bird deterrents that is reasonably effective. "BeakGuard" is a new "Patent Pending" concept incorporating a blend of ingredients that offer safe and comparatively effective protection from woodpeckers. These compounds immediately communicate a warning signal to the birds, prompting them to find a more desirable location. In fact, humans and animals are very sensitive to these components. For example - taste testing has determined that people can detect our ingredients in water at 50 parts per billion.

The Product:
BeakGuard is a Breathable Elastomeric Acrylic Finish formulated to apply like standard latex paint. Performance on the other hand far exceeds your typical latex product. BeakGuard offers outstanding coating durability, extended service life, provides maximum dirt pick-up resistance and weatherability in a vapor permeable, flexible membrane with exceptional color retention. Although specifically formulated for EIFS and existing acrylic finishes, BeakGuardA is easily applied to virtually any exterior surface including wood, fiber-cement, stucco, aluminum or vinyl.

Environmentally Safe:

BeakGuard will not harm woodpeckers or any other bird species. The ingredients in BeakGuard are found in many consumer products on the market today - even nail biting and thumb sucking deterrents for children incorporate this technology. The National Safety Council and American Medical Association recommend similar agents be used, along with other safety measures, in products defined as mild to moderately toxic.
