VTECH Industries Announces Patent Approval
Skylight Industry to be the First to Benefit from Unparalleled Technology
Houston, Texas—November 7, 2007— The United States Patent and Trademark Office has given final approval of VTECH Industries patent for their encapsulation system. Limitless in its potential, the patent currently covers technology applications for skylights, windows, doors and photocells.
Utilizing innovative engineering in Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) processing, combined with a patented aliphatic polyurethane material, the VTECH system of encapsulation with the polyurethane ensures a watertight seal. This new process allows both glass and acrylic to bond directly with the frame, eliminating any possible water infiltration. Utilizing this breakthrough technology, VTECH Skylights surpass current codes and are the industry’s first skylights guaranteed not to leak.
To prove the technology far exceeds industry standards, VTECH conducted extensive testing lasting more than three years. The technology is such a radical, profound step outside the norm; they wanted to ensure the product would not fail. Results from testing not only showed that the skylights met and surpassed code, but clearly set new standards.
Recticel UREPP North America, who supplies the automotive industry with window encapsulation using a polyurethane system for use in RIM encapsulation, assisted by putting the technology though comprehensive testing, thereby establishing its credibility. As the manufacturer of the polyurethanes, Recticel has been in the automotive production since 1985. With more than 120 million windows in the field and 10 million windows encapsulated, there have been no recalls and zero warranty claims, which speaks volumes about their product.
“There is NO equal to our product,” said Valentz. “I invite anyone to challenge that statement. We plan to continue this innovative tradition by crossing over into many other industries including windows, doors and solar panels.”
VTECH Industries, founded in Houston, Texas, in 1996, is an innovative research and manufacturing firm. State-of-the-art VTECH Skylights are characterized by high-performance materials, high-impact strength, require no maintenance and are built to last. By fusing polyurethane directly to the encapsulated lighting surface, a continuous bond is generated eliminating the need for a gasket, creating a single, bonded unit that will not fail due to improper installation, weathering or lack of compression. Additional patents applied for in North America and Europe are still waiting approval. Delivering leak-proof skylights is an industry first.
Overview:
VTECH Industries offers the latest in skylight technology using the Reaction Injection Molding process encapsulating glass and acrylic.
Environmentally friendly, designed to bring warmth to your environment using natural light.
VTECH Industries has consistently invested in research and development providing advanced manufacturing design and technologies that deliver leak proof skylights at a cost effective price. The utilization of Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) technology combined with a patented aliphatic polyurethane material makes our VTECH Skylights unlike any others on the market today. Encapsulating either glass or acrylic with the aliphatic polyurethane material ensures an absolute water-tight seal. The end result, a single bonded unit. You will not have to worry about leakage - period.
