Lanai Doors™ hurricane aluminum bi-fold system image

Lanai Doors™ hurricane aluminum bi-fold system

Highly Rated
Lanai Doors™ hurricane aluminum bi-fold system is DP-70 rated (165 mph winds) for Miami-Dade County HVHZ large and small missiles. Lanai's hurricane system also satisfies other wind-borne debris region building codes from the East Coast to the Gulf of Mexico to all of the Caribbean and Hawaiian Islands.

Lanai's standard raised threshold obtained higher individual structural and cycling results. Structurally, the standard threshold achieved a DP-80 negative (177 mph winds) and DP-100 positive (198 mph winds) and successfully cycled at DP-90 (188 mph winds) for both outswing and inswing configurations.

Top-hung, Sleek Look
Lanai's hurricane-certified systems are manufactured in the United States using the best component parts available. One critical part is the Centor E3 top-hung folding hardware. Unlike bottom roller systems that bind or clog with debris, Lanai's hurricane top-hung system will open and close with ease. Centor E3 hardware is so robust that the Lanai Doors™ hurricane systems only needs three hinges between each panel. The lack of multiple hinges complements Lanai's sleek clean look of their 1-3/4 inch thick panels which are made with 3-inch wide stiles and 3-5/8 inch top and bottom rails. With the right design, your hurricane bi-fold glass wall system does not have to look or feel like a fortress.

Aluminum Folding Doors & Windows
Lanai Doors™ top-hung aluminum folding door and window systems are a great alternative to traditional French doors, sliders, pocket doors and pass-thru windows in residential, hospitality and commercial applications. Our systems are installed from the Virgin Islands to the Hawaiian Islands; from The Hamptons to Costa Rica. Aluminum is a long-lasting low maintenance non-warping alternative to wood. Aluminum doors and windows give you more finishing alternatives with the retro look of clear anodized or the warmth of bronze anodized; and painted finish to match existing wood, clad or vinyl doors and windows. Aluminum doors and windows maximize your view when the system is locked down because of the narrow 3 inch wide stiles and 3-5/8 inch wide rails.

Quality; Flexibility; and Creativity
We use various southern California aluminum extruders to manufacture all of our aluminum bifolding system components. We design and maintain our own dies, which allow us to decide when and how we enhance and improve our folding system. As an example of our flexibility, in 2007, based on customer demand, Lanai Doors' now offers a low-rise threshold. We use the highest quality 6063-T5 aluminum, commonly referred to as the architectural alloy, which has a high degree of resistance to corrosion.

Lanai bifold sliding door

Lanai Doors are a great alternative to French doors and other custom door applications that could cost you twice the price. You will be pleasantly surprised at how affordable these custom doors are. Lanai Doors allows you to be able to add beauty and elegance at an affordable price, creating a unique and expensive looking environment that belies the affordable pricing. That's why we are proud to offer Lanai Doors', which are considered to be the perfect alternative to traditional French doors. Our exclusive bi-folding door and window system is designed to fit most interior and exterior openings. With Lanai Doors your space will be filled with maximum light and air, bringing the outdoors in. Lanai Doors, unlike French doors, are the perfect option for both indoor and outdoor use. They can be used wherever you'd like to add additional space or wherever you'd like to create a feeling of openness with your own wall of windows.
Bifolding Interior Doors image

Bifolding Interior Doors

Lanai Doors, are considered to be a bifold sliding French door system, which provides a movable "wall of glass" between rooms! What a wonderful way to open up a floorplan -- adding light and incredible ambiance to your space. Our interior sliding French Door units are available in a variety of materials including aluminum, wood and aluminum-wood clad.

When closed, Lanai Doors provide a beautiful separation of living spaces providing sound abatement and insulation. The space can then be opened entirely for entertaining or other practical uses. If you prefer a more traditional look but want the functionality of our Lanai doors, they can be made to look like a traditional French door system.
Bifolding Exterior Doors image

Bifolding Exterior Doors

Because sliding glass doors and French doors limit your usable space, you may be actually diminishing the dimensions of your residential or commercial space by installing old-fashioned French doors. That's why we created Lanai Doors, which unlike French doors, help you get the most out of your space. With a Lanai Door, you are able to use the entire opening and benefit from the infusion of air and light suddenly introduced into your space. Lanai Doors, unlike French doors, truly bring the outdoors in.

There are numerous configurations of Lanai Doors available and we have a design to fit any requirement you may have. The most common configuration provides a combination of panels that make your space practical and beautiful. While the one "active" panel can be used for easy everyday in and out access, the other panels are locked in place and secure - yet still allowing the light and air to come in. Depending on the configuration you choose, you can even have two panels that act as French Doors for day-to-day use.
Weatherproof Doors image

Weatherproof Doors

Lanai Doors are featured in homes and businesses across the United States and surrounding islands. Because of our weather tight seal system our systems have been installed in both cold weather applications, such as Colorado, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, and also warn weather applications, California, Florida, Bahamas, Hawaii, and Nevada to name a few. Our airtight, weatherproof doors can withstand the harshest of winters or the warmest of climates.

Bifolding Door Configurations

Unlike many French doors, our Lanai doors are custom built to the exact measurements you require in our modern Southern California plant:
  • Custom sizes up to 12 feet tall and 56 feet wide make Lanai Doors more versatile than traditional French doors
  • Configured with an access panel to meet your needs
  • Choice of aluminum, wood or aluminum clad wood
  • Colorization specific to your project
  • Dual Glaze, Tempered, Insulated, Low E and divided lites are available
  • Top mounted track systems providing flush, standard sill, or low profile (for wheel chair access) thresholds
  • Like French doors, handles and hardware are included. Available in Stainless Steel, Polished Brass (Gold) or Bronze PVD
  • Choice of Inswing or Outswing available
  • Click here to see our Hurricane configurations.

Flexible Lanai Door systems can be constructed in countless different configurations, which are not available for French doors. Depending on the width of your opening, we offer several options to choose from for both standard systems and also radius systems. To replace your traditional French doors with Lanai Doors, you will most likely need a three (3) panel system. The maximum standard panel width is 36 inches. However, unlike many French doors, the panels are designed to match your exact dimensions. For example, a very common patio door width is eight (8) feet. This allows for a three (3) panel Lanai Door with panels manufactured at 32 inches each.

{{this.show}} {{this.hide}} Threshold Systems

Threshold Systems image

Threshold Systems

Unlike French doors, with Lanai Doors, you have the option of three different types of thresholds to complete the look you are trying to achieve. When the door closes, the threshold creates a weather-tight seal.

Our Standard Threshold offers a weather-tight seal, perfect for cold climate locations and areas that are exposed to direct wind and rain. This application is similar to the one used with sliding glass doors and French Doors.

Our Flush Guide is much different from threshold systems, which are commonly used for French doors. This guide is an excellent choice for either an interior application or an opening with sufficient coverage from the outside elements. It mounts directly into your floor creating a smooth transition from room to room or indoors to outdoors.

For industrial applications Lanai Doors offers a Low Rise Guide, which is ADA compliant. This works well for restaurants, storefront applications or homes that are unable to utilize the flush guide.
