To more fully meet your indoor range needs and preferences, Action Target has developed our modular shooting stall system. This approach lets you balance cost and functionality in a way that makes the most sense for your individual shooting needs.
All of our stalls provide an impenetrable barrier, but allow for modular and customizable construction. Begin by choosing what level of ballistic protection you want based on how your range will be used. You then fill the upper and lower portions of the vertical framework by selecting components like transparent ballistic panels, carpeted ballistic steel, or ballistic steel with a tough rhino-lining finish. We offer a complete package of controls, traps, targets, air filtration, and maintenance for new ranges, but can also clean and redesign existing ranges to meet environmental standards, as many older ranges have been operating without adequate ventilation. Action Target and Carey’s will ensure that your team’s health is never compromised by lead or other air-borne toxins found in improperly ventilated ranges.
Carey’s ventilation systems are the best-performing and most efficient systems available on the market today. Our designs exceed NIOSH, EPA, and OSHA air quality standards and maintain a 100% success rate in industrial hygiene by utilizing:

Target retriever systems that move paper or cardboard targets away from the shooter and then back again are a traditional fixture on many indoor ranges. Once again, Action Target has improved upon tradition to bring you a complete line of target retriever systems.
Action Target offers two target retriever models:
The Standard Target Retriever provides stable operation, quick target response, and more precise control than traditional “sag and sway” target retrievers. The Deluxe Target Retriever includes an additional modular unit for increased turning capabilities.
In order to control the target retrievers, Action Target provides three models of retriever controllers: The first is a simple toggle switch. The second model, the Smart Pad™, is an electronic keypad. The third adds Action Target’s Master Control Unit to the Smart Pad. By design, ranges with the Deluxe Target Retriever with its turning capabilities must use one of the two controller models that include the Smart Pad.

Line of Fire™
|
The Line of Fire is a frame-mounted instant shooting range that comes assembled in modular sections. You can connect as many sections together as you need, and the two moving targets can be configured to span the entire assembly of sections. Like the chassis of a car, the frame of the Line of Fire is a foundation that all the target systems and components mount to. No railroad ties, concrete, or other protective walls are needed in front of the targets because the frame of the Line of Fire also has an angled 500 Brinell steel wall built right in. All you need to use your Line of Fire is a flat piece of ground and a suitable backstop or bullet trap.

Range Control Tower™
Action Target control towers are sturdy command centers that provide comfort for your training officers and protection for your computer equipment. The weather-sealed, climate-controlled interior creates a practical and professional environment that allows training officers to conduct their training with greater safety and efficiency. The computer, printer and communication equipment located in the tower will also perform better and last longer because problems with sand, insects, small animals and temperature extremes are now eliminated.
Above Ground Foxhole
A hole in the ground might be a good place during combat, but Action Target’s above-ground foxholes are a better place for training and qualification. With room for both the gunner and assistant gunner, the foxhole platform provides a safe and comfortable surface for all shooting positions. To switch from platform to foxhole shooting, simply remove the trap door. The foxhole can then be entered from above or from behind and the floor can be adjusted to accommodate different shooters.

A rubber berm trap is approximately two feet of chopped rubber spread on top of an angled support structure to create a backstop or “berm” to catch bullets fired into it. There are several different approaches to this fundamental idea, but the same basic principles apply to them all.

EHS-1™ – Handheld Electronic Target Controller
The electric hand switch (EHS-1™) is the simplest way to control any electrically triggered controller or actuator from Action Target.
The rugged aluminum handle houses an on/off button that can easily be pressed with the thumb as the unit is held in the palm of the hand. The EHS-1 is also available in a momentary push button option.
HS-1™ – Handheld Pneumatic Target Controller
The HS-1™ hand switch is the simplest of all Action Target controllers. Even so, this versatile control module gets used again and again to fill a need that can be met in no other way.
The HS-1 serves as a manual air flow interface that allows you to operate any of Action Target’s pneumatic actuators. Squeeze the button and the target turns. Let go of the button and the target turns back – it’s that easy.

For more permanent range installations, our Track Runner™ is the best way to implement a moving target system. Unlike our portable systems where the target is suspended from a steel cable, targets used with the Track Runner are mounted to a trolley that runs on a special track mounted close to the ground. To eliminate the inaccuracy of such a scenario, law enforcement long ago adopted the concept of targets that turn towards and away from the shooter at specific time intervals.

As we learn more and more about the human dynamics involved in armed confrontations, we understand that physical skills that require conscious thought or intellectual processing tend to break down rapidly under high levels of stress. If defensive skills and responses are not programmed in at a subconscious level, the sudden stress may cause us to fumble, freeze or panic. It is in this environment that reactive shooting skills are needed. Such reflexive shooting skills can be taught through the use of extremely short time limits, thus pushing the shooter to function at the limits of reaction and response time.
