Overview:
In 2003, Haddad-Wylie Industries, LLC, (HWI) was formed with the intent to provide products with higher aseptic detail for the life science industry. From big pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities to the growing list of bio-tech upstarts to the compounding suites in community hospitals in accordance with USP 797, HWI has developed a volume of products and services that help its clientele reduce the risk of contamination by designing environments that create the ideal state for sterile preparations - that is, exposed surface materials and finishes which are easy to clean.
Today, HWI is at the forefront of design-building turn-key aseptic clean room environments. Meeting any Classifications, creating higher standards, and completing projects ahead of schedule is HWI's guarantee.
HWI has become one of the leaders in Clean Room Design and Construction and is the preferred vendor for an array of large, high profile clientele.

Upon requisition, HWI performed a smoke test to evaluate the air flow in the facility. After reviewing and discovering the airflow deficiencies, HWI designed and custom fabricated Lexan shrouds over the process equipment to achieve laminar flow and to eliminate the potential contamination problem this Biological Laboratory had been experiencing.

HWI was approached by their customer with a problem in their psychiatric isolation rooms. They were told by the state board that the room was to be shut down due to the unsanitary conditions of the room. The room was comprised of drywall and wood paneling. Patients had been urinating in the room [and no matter the amount of cleaning] the room could not eliminate the issue: microbes were multiplying in the porous material creating the unsanitary conditions.
HWI eliminated this issue quickly and perfectly. Removing the paneling and tainted flooring was the first step. Next, the room was sprayed with the Bio-Gard Neutral Quat 64-One Step Germicidal Disinfectant. Finally, the walls were replaced with HWI's Bio-Gard wall laminate which was heat welded for a homogenous, non-porous environment.
Upon the State Inspectors return, the psychiatric isolation room passed occupancy.

HWI was awarded one of the largest sole sourced clean room projects the Medical Device Industry has seen: a 30,000sq/ft high profile medical device company in Puerto Rico. The biggest design challenge on this project was the humidity control of a clean room environment located in a high humidity climate. Through design, a solution was given: a 200 ton Multistack Chiller combined with a Bry-air desiccant dehumidifier.
This medical device laboratory was a Class 10,000, 1,500sq/ft facility. It was built in a warehouse space with a dedicated HVAC system.

HWI constructed a 5,000sq/ft facility. The facility was comprised of modular clean room space and Bio-GardTM laminate lab space. The classifications were Class 1,000, Class 10,000 and Class 100,000 clean room space. This Nanotechnology site is utilizing the clean room facility to conduct clinical trials and is expected to expand into five processing lines in 2010.

HWI was contracted to renovate an existing pharmaceutical manufacturing facility to upgrade it's existing condition. The facility had been built in the 70's and was in dire need of a renovation. HWI designed and built the solution for this customer. Within a 17 day shut down period, HWI renovated 10.000 sq/ft of clean room space; walls and ceilings. Eliminating microbial ledges, replacing stainless steel walls with Bio-Gard™, and eliminating floor loaded return air walls was a success. Notice the before and after photographs of the return air wall.

This project was two-fold: An expansion of their existing Class 10,000 Clean Room manufacturing area and new construction of Three Class 100 Clean Rooms and Ante room.
Both areas involved having to erect barrier containment /separation wall structures in the existing, working clean rooms to avoid impacting extremely sensitive manufacturing processes, and production was affected only twice during the 4+ month construction period.
