The Silverback PV and Solar Thermal rack mounting system consists of three key features: The watertight roof attachment, the adjustable framing, and the module supports with adjustable clips.

The beauty of installing a Silverback Solar™ mounting system versus a traditional rack is that our roof attachment system creates a structural mounting point that is completely watertight. No leaks, ever.
It was designed to support any kind of solar panel or solar thermal installation without having to jeopardize the integrity or lifespan of any roof.

The Silverback Engineered Solar Racking System is adaptable to any type of roof structure. In most cases, the Base Supports can be installed directly into the structural members from above, without having to go inside the building. Occasionally, extra blocking or through bolts are required.

The tubular design with telescoping fittings allows unlimited adjustment during installation. Simply slide the fittings on the tubes to level and plumb the rack, then lock them together with self drilling tek screws.

The patent-pending Silverback Solar PV panel clip is easy to install and adjusts for any module thickness from 1.21" to 2.02". Each clip consists of a Saddle and Retainer. The Saddles are fastened with two self drilling screws, and the retainer is secured with a machine bolt. The guide legs on the retainer make it simple to install while reaching over the module, eliminating the need to stand on the modules as they are installed.

The Silverback Base Supports are the main anchor to the roof structure. The holes in the bottom plate (on the inside) provide a means of attaching to the structural members in the roof framing.

|
Silverback Solar™ flashing is the weather barrier that keeps the roof penetrations watertight. It fits over our 6" Base Support and extends onto the roof 4" for proper roofing.
The height of the Stainless Flashing from Silverback can be easily adjusted to account for the thickness of insulation. Simply snip the four corners and snap the tabs off by bending back and forth at the nearest breakline.

Silverback Solar™ utilizes a self-adhering EPDM foam rubber gasket strip that is applied to the outside of the flashing at, or near the top of the Silverback Solar™ Rack Base Support. When the Silverback Base Cap is installed, the gasket is compressed to create a tight seal.
The use of the gasket is optional, because the Base Cap flashes 2.4" over the top of the Base Support and Flashing. Silverback Solar™ recommends the gasket in areas where there is ice and snow, or if splashing water is possible.

The Silverback Solar™ Rack Base Cap keeps the assembly watertight. It caps the top of the Flashing Boot and Base Support, overlapping them by 2.4", while compressing the Rubber Gasket and creating the seal.
