Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including: 1. Preparation instructions and recommendations. 2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 3. Installation methods. C. Detail Drawings: Submit plan, section and elevation drawings as necessary to describe the physical characteristics of the wheelchair lift including platform sizes limitations and proper installation and mounting procedures. D. Samples: For each finish product specified, one sample representing actual product, color, and style. 1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Manufacturer Qualifications: 1. All primary products specified in this section will be supplied by a single manufacturer with a minimum of ten (10) years experience. 2. Manufacturer will have ISO 9001 Certification. B. Installer Qualifications: All products listed in this section are to be installed by a single installer with a minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in installing products of the same type and scope as specified. ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project. C. Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect. 3. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits. 1.9 WARRANTY A. At project closeout, provide to Owner or Owners Representative an executed copy of the manufacturer's standard limited warranty against manufacturing defect, outlining its terms, conditions, and exclusions from coverage. 1. Provides for independent use by individuals with disabilities and include all applicable operating and safety devices for compliance with ADA requirements. 5. Slim profile platform frame to eliminate the need for a pit or access ramp on the lower landing side and facilitate easy entry into the lift directly at floor level by patrons. 6. Provides adequate lifting force to raise the platform and occupant to a height suitable for access to most stages, platforms, or similar elevated surfaces. B. Provide a portable lifting device intended for the exclusive use of individuals with disabilities with the following characteristics: 1. Unenclosed, self-contained, requiring no additional components or modifications of the using facility. 2. Platform supported on an electro-hydraulic lifting mechanism with built-in casters for portability. 3. Casters will permit easy movement of the unoccupied lift over hard, level surfaces. 4. With the casters removed, the lift will rest firmly on any hard, level surface, and provide a stable base for operation of the lift. 5. Low profile (no machine tower or shroud) to maintain viewing lines. 6. Provides for independent use by individuals with disabilities and include all applicable operating and safety devices for compliance with ADA requirements. 7. Casters must be capable of being installed without tools. 3. When the casters are installed, the lift must roll easily over any hard, smooth, level surface. 4. The lift must be movable by fork lift or truck. 5. The lift must be capable of being compressed to 33 inches (838 mm) wide to facilitate relocation through a 36 inch (914 mm) wide doorway. H. Operation: 1. Three (3) constant pressure "UP/DOWN" switches, located outside of the platform at both ends and inside the platform. 2. The lower landing platform gate is provided with a mechanical interlock that prevents the platform gate from being opened whenever the platform is more than 2 inches (50 mm) above the full down position. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Verify suitability of substrate preparation in accordance with the Contract Drawings. B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding. C. Verify correct space requirements in accordance with the Contract Drawings. D. Verify electrical service is of correct type and at correct location. 3.2 PREPARATION A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation. B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions. 3.3 INSTALLATION ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete the next paragraph if the Ascension Virtuoso 5460P Vertical Portable Wheelchair Lift is specified. A. Perform acceptance tests as required by code and the authority having jurisdiction. 1. Place rated load on platform and operate for several cycles to verify correct installation and operation. 2. Any detected mechanical failures or wear that would affect the reliability of the lift that occur are considered Defective Work and will not be accepted. 3.5 PROTECTION A.
