	1.5	SUBMITTALS
		A.	Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
		B.	Product Data: Submit for products proposed for use, describing manufacturers, chemical characteristics and methods of application.
		C.	Shop Drawings: Provide floor plans clearly marked to indicate extent of surfaces to be treated.
		D.	Samples: Provide one quart sample of each material, with labels clearly identifying the products.
		E.	Test Reports: Provide certified test reports, prepared by an independent testing laboratory, showing conformance to specified quality standards. Test results must be less than 2 years old.
		F.	Manufacturer's Instructions: Provide detailed application instructions describing in detail each step of the work. Indicate equipment, rates of application and application procedures.
	1.6	QUALITY ASSURANCE
		A.	Manufacturer Qualifications: All primary products specified in this section will be supplied by a single manufacturer with a minimum of ten (10) consecutive years experience.
		B.	Installer Qualifications: All products listed in this section are to be installed by a single installer with a minimum of three (3) years demonstrated experience in the remediation and prevention of mold growth.
			1.	Installer must provide a list of at least five (5) installations that have been in use following remediation for a minimum of three years. Include contact name and phone numbers.
			2.	The applicator must provide and maintain in force insurance coverage with an approved firm having a rating of A- or better, in the amount of not less than $1 million per claim or $2 million total Coverage must protect the Owner, Developer, Architect and Contractor against claims due to bodily injury resulting from mold growth on treated surfaces and include costs of defense and settlement, as applicable.
		C.	Tests: The antimicrobial furnished under this Section must be resistant to mold growth in accordance with ASTM D 3273, measured as defined in ASTM D 3274 on the following surfaces.
			1.	Douglas fir: Not less than 8.
			2.	Concrete and Concrete Masonry: Not less than 10.
		D.	Environmental Impact Characteristics: The antimicrobial must be EPA registered.
	** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
		E.	Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
			1.	Finish areas designated by Architect.
			2.	Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect.
			3.	Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
	1.7	DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
		A.	Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
		B.	Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
	1.8	PROJECT CONDITIONS
		A.	Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
	1.9	SEQUENCING
		A.	Project Sequence - Coordinate the work of this section with rough framing and finish work under the contract to assure that surfaces which will be concealed in the finished work are accessible at the time of treatment. Apply soda blast and antimicrobial spray at the following times during construction:
			1.	After the rough wood framing is installed, prior to application of insulation and drywall, with not more than one side of walls covered with finish materials and with floor framing and ceiling spaces open and accessible, apply soda blast to all visible contaminated surfaces and antimicrobial to all floor, wall and above ceiling framing. (This may require sequenced application, to assure that all surfaces are covered).
			2.	After plumbing piping and electrical conduits are installed, return to site and respray antimicrobial on cut and drilled areas of the framing.
		B.	Process Sequence - Adhere to the following sequence for the abatement of existing mold, and application of antimicrobial:
			1.	Soda blast with food grade baking soda, all visible traces of mold on interior structural surfaces of wood, metal and concrete.
			2.	Clean the blasted area and remove all loose soda, together with residue, dirt and contaminants.
			3.	Surface treat interior framed structural surfaces with antimicrobial applied by fine mist spray prior to application of finish materials.
	1.10	WARRANTY
		A.	At project closeout, provide to Owner or Owners Representative an executed copy of the following warranties:
			1.	Manufacturer's standard limited warranty against manufacturing defect, outlining its terms, conditions, and exclusions from coverage.
			2.	Certified copies of applicator's warranty stating that the mitigation/prevention services will provide durable, long-term antimicrobial activity, will significantly retard microbial growth of mold on all treated surfaces, and will control existing microbial contamination on treated surfaces and protect against future growth of fungi and microorganisms.
				a.	Applicator's warranty duration must coincide with the State's statute of repose for the applicator.
	PART 2	PRODUCTS
	2.1	MANUFACTURERS

		B.	Substitutions: Not permitted.
		C.	Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01600. A process substitution not containing soda blast and subsequent clean up is inferior work and will not be considered.
	2.2	MATERIALS
		A.	Soda: Manufactured from food grade sodium bicarbonate, odorless, white crystalline powder, containing no hazardous materials as defined in 29 CFR 1910. The material must be non-flammable, not combustible.
		B.	Antimicrobial: A stable aqueous solution of a Silicone Quatemarv Ammonium Salt.
			1.	Provides a durable microbiostatic finish when applied to siliceous surfaces, natural and man made fibers, metals, leather, wood, rubber, plastic, and plastic laminates.
			2.	Non-toxic, non-encapsulating, non-volatilizing, non-migrating antimicrobial utilizing a unique surface modifying technology to impart safe and lasting antimicrobial activity to all treated surfaces, which destroys mold by physical reaction only.
			3.	Solution: Organosilane in water, non-leaching, non-migrating, clear and non-flammable, and consisting of factory mixed solution of:
				a.	1 to 2 percent methyl alcohol.
				b.	1 percent octadecylaminodimethyl-trihydroxysilylpropyl-ammonium chloride,
				c.	97 to 98 percent deionized water.
	2.3	EQUIPMENT
		A.	Soda Blasting Equipment:
			1.	Compressor: 185 cfm minimum.
			2.	Soda pot: 20-120 psi, 250 cfm 12 volt after cooler.
			3.	Independent large water separator.
			4.	Inlet water separator.
			5.	Pot water separator.
			6.	Automatic water dump.
			7.	Special nozzles, valves, regulators as required for the project.
		B.	Antimicrobial Application Equipment: Fine mist sprayers, gas, electric or electrostatic type, capable of misting water droplets of 40-100 microns in size.
	2.4	ACCESSORIES
		A.	Masking materials: Polyethylene sheeting and compatible tape.
		B.	Clean-up Equipment and Materials: Suitable brooms, brushes, plastic bags, waste containers.
	PART 3	EXECUTION
	3.1	APPLICATORS

	3.2	EXAMINATION
		A.	Verify that floor, wall, and ceiling framing is completed in areas to receive soda blast and antimicrobial treatment. Verify that the areas are reasonably clean and free from wood scraps, nails and other foreign materials.
	3.3	PREPARATION
		A.	The optimum time for performance of the work of this section is after wood and other framing is completed, prior to installation of windows and tub enclosures, and prior to installation of air conditioning, plumbing and electrical rough work.
		B.	If windows, entrance doors, tub enclosures, plumbing fixtures or similar items are installed prior to soda blast, cover the items with masking materials with edges sealed.
	3.4	APPLICATION
		A.	Soda Blasting: Remove visible mold from all interior structural and framing surfaces from the base plates to and including the trusses and interior side of the roof decking, plywood or OSB as provided, via the specified high pressure soda blasting process.
		B.	Residue Clean-up: Clean up and remove all residual baking soda and debris.
		C.	Surface Treatment: Apply the antimicrobial to all structural and framing surfaces using one, or more, of the types of fine mist sprayer specified above.
	3.5	RE-APPLICATION
		A.	When required as part of the work, apply antimicrobial to surfaces of framing which are cut during the installation of pipes, conduits, ducts, etc.
	3.6	FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
		A.	Upon completion of the work of this Section, an authorized representative of the applicator must inspect the building to assure that the work is properly performed.
	3.7	CLEANING
		A.	Upon completion, remove coverings, masking containers, and debris occurring from the work.
