California Products Corporation headquarters is located just north of Boston in Andover, Massachusetts. The 168,000 square foot facility houses the corporate offices, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution for the company. The facility was constructed in 2001 and is the most technologically advanced coatings manufacturing operation in the world.           1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications:
          1.System manufacturer shall provide documentation that the surface to be installed has been approved for use for roller sports.
          2.System manufacturer shall be a member of the ASBA.
          3.A manufacturer's representative shall be available to help resolve material questions.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications:
          1.Installer shall be regularly engaged in construction and surfacing of acrylic play courts or similar surfaces.
          2.Installer shall be an Authorized Applicator of the specified surface system.
          3.Installer shall be a builder member of the ASBA.
 
          C.Single Source Requirements: To the greatest extent possible surface coatings products shall be supplied by a single manufacturer.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          D.Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.

          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
 
          A.Deliver, store and handle materials and products in strict compliance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations and industry standards. Store materials within absolute limits for temperature and humidity recommended by manufacturer. Protect from damage.
 
          B.Store products in manufacturer's labeled packaging until ready for installation.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          1.8SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
 
          A.Conference: Convene a pre-installation conference to establish procedures to maintain optimum working conditions and to coordinate this work with related and adjacent work.

Acrylotex is intended to be tinted with DecoColor to provide a variety of attractive surface finishes and can be applied over stained concrete surfaces to restore the look without costly replacement. Since wear is not of a structural nature, simply recoat and the finish is revitalized. Acrylotex is suitable for a wide variety of applications including: Pedestrian walkways, parks and playgrounds, patios, architectural accents, sidewalks, courtyards, pool areas, cement stairs, parking lots, golf paths, entrances.           PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1INSTALLATION
 
          A.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.
          1.Do not proceed with installation until substrates have been properly prepared and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected.
          2.Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of conditions.
 
          B.Prepare substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
          1.Surfaces: Clean surfaces of loose dirt, oil, grease, leaves, and other debris and treat surfaces with manufacturer approved product in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
          2.Holes and Cracks: Thoroughly rout holes and cracks of dirt, debris and loose impediments and apply Owner approved soil sterilant, 14 days prior to Court Patch Binder in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
          3.Depressions: Depressions holding enough water to cover a nickel shall be filled with Court Patch Binder Patching Mix as follows:
          a.Prior to application of Acrylic Resurfacer courts shall be flooded and drained.
          b.Areas holding enough water to cover a nickel shall be marked and defined.
          c.After defined areas are dry, prime with tack coat mixture of Court Patch Binder.
          d.After tack coat has dried, spread Court Patch Binder mix true to grade using a straight edge (never a squeegee) for strike off.
          e.Trowel or float the patch so that the texture matches the surrounding area. Never add water to mix.
          f.Light misting on surface and edges to feather-in is allowed as needed to maintain workability. Allow to dry thoroughly and cure.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
          4.Acrylic Resurfacer may be used to pre-coat depression and crack/hole repairs to achieve better planarity prior to filler course application.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Applies to DecoStreetIce applications only. Delete if not required.
 
          C.Substrate Curing for DecoStreetIce:
          1.New hot-mix asphalt must be allowed to cure a minimum of six (6) months. If skating is allowed with less than six months cure time, rutting may occur. The hot mix asphalt content must be a minimum of 1/4 inch stone to a 3/8 inch stone, 3/8 inch mix is preferred to reduce the possibility of indention or other unevenness.
          2.Under no circumstances shall fine graded aggregates be used in the asphalt hot-mix (commonly referred to as "sand-mix"), as undesirable compaction or rutting may occur.
          3.The asphalt surface must have a 1 inch in ten feet slope which is not to vary 1/8 inch in 10 feet when measured with a straight edge in any direction.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Applies to Acrylotex applications only. Delete if not required.
 
          D.Substrate Curing for Acrylotex: New hot-mix asphalt surfaces must be allowed 14 days minimum cure time prior to application. For new Portland cement concrete surfaces, a minimum of 28 days cure time is required.
 
          E.Inspector Approval: Before filler course is added, preparation must be approved by an inspector acceptable to the surfacing manufacturer.
 
          F.Install all components in strict accordance with manufacturer's instructions to achieve recommended thicknesses and surface characteristics.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not specifying application over concrete.
          1.For primer applied over concrete Acrylic Resurfacer Mix must be applied within 3 hours of the Ti-Coat primer application.
          2.Scrape off ridges and rough spots in coatings of Acrylic Resurfacer prior to subsequent application of Acrylic Resurfacer, cushion or color surfacing system.
          3.No application should be made until the previous application is thoroughly dry.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Applies to DecoStreetIce applications only. Delete if not required.
          4.Apply additional top coat in areas with concentrated wear, such as a goalie's crease or face-off circles.
 
          3.2CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND PROTECTION
 
          A.Erect temporary barriers to protect coatings during drying and curing. Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
