          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:

          C.Detail Drawings: Submit detail drawings depicting proper installation and flashing techniques. Coordinate locations with those found on the Contract Drawings.

          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications:
          1.Single manufacturer with at least five (5) years experience manufacturing and marketing all Manufactured Stone will provide all products in this section.
          2.Manufacturer will be affiliated with MSJC, ACI and ASTM.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Company with documented experience in installation of manufactured masonry including at least five (5) projects within a 400 mile (650km) radius of this Project.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          C.Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
          1.Installation areas to be designated by Architect.
          2.Selected areas may be part of area to receive stone finish.
          3.Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, laying pattern and grout are approved by Architect and / or others with approval authority.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Store and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
 
          C.Prior to installation protect material from precipitation combined with freezing temperatures. Product with visible frozen moisture should not be installed.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          1.8WARRANTY
 
          A.At project close-out, provide to the Owner an executed copy of the manufacturer's standard limited warranty against defects in manufacturing.

          2.2APPLICATION / SCOPE
 
          A.The Work specified in this section is not designed to improve the load bearing capacity of a wall. Products should not be used under water, such as in swimming pools or other water features. To avoid discoloration, products should not be subjected to harsh chemicals such as chlorine, salts, or acids. Products are not designed for flat work such as patio areas that are subject to traffic.
 
          B.Sunset Stone's products are cast in uniquely designed molds to produce the texture of natural stone. Each product style is manufactured from a special blend of Portland cement, lightweight aggregates, and Iron oxide pigment to replicate the elegance of natural stone.
 
          C.Sunset Stone's special blend of lightweight aggregates significantly reduce the effects of "freeze and thaw" while increasing the compression strength to levels above the industry standards.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2SURFACE PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Select Surface Preparation methods applicable to substrates found on the project from the following six options.
 
          C.Installations Over Open Studs:
          1.Apply paper-backed galvanized 3.4 lb. 3/8 inch (10mm) rib expanded metal lath to the studs using galvanized nails or staples every 6 inches (152mm) vertically on stud centers with a minimum penetration of 1 inch (25mm). Overlap lath sides no less than 1 inch (25mm) and ends no less than 1 inch (25mm).
          2.For metal studs use corrosion-resistant self tapping screws with a 3/8 inch (10mm) head which provides a minimum 1/2 inch (13mm) penetration beyond the inside metal surface.
 
          D.Installations Over Wood Substrates:
          1.Cover the approved substrate with a weather resistant barrier. Lap joints by applying felt horizontally with the upper layer lapped over the lower layer not less than 2 inches (51mm) and end laps not less than 6 inches (152mm). Install specified metal lath in accordance with manufacturer's requirements. Use galvanized lath for exterior applications and black metal lath for interior applications.
          2.Lap lath sides not less than 1 inch (25mm) and end laps not less than 1 inch (25mm). Lath must be attached with the small diamonds pointing upwards. On inside and outside corners, overlap at least 16 inches (406mm) in each direction.
          3.Attach wire lath using 1 1/2 inch (38mm) minimum galvanized nails or Staples on 6 inch (152mm) centers penetrating each wall stud a minimum of I inch (25mm).
          4.Apply a mortar scratch coat to cover the metal lath and apply the stone while the scratch coat is still moist. If the scratch coat dries before applying the stone, the scratch coat should be remoistened by spraying it with water.
 
          E.Installations over Rigid Insulation Board:
          1.Cover the approved substrate with a weather resistant barrier. Lap joints by applying felt horizontally with the upper layer lapped over the lower layer not less than 2 inches (51mm) and end laps not less than 6 inches (152mm). Install specified metal lath in accordance with manufacturer's requirements. Use galvanized lath for exterior applications and black metal lath for interior applications.
          2.Lap lath sides not less than 1 inch (25mm) and end laps not less than 1 inch (25mm). Lath must be attached with the small diamonds pointing upwards. On inside and outside corners, overlap at least 16 inches (406mm) in each direction.
          3.Attach wire lath using 1 1/2 inch (38mm) minimum galvanized nails or Staples on 4 inch (102mm) centers penetrating each 16 inch (406 mm) on center wall stud a minimum of I inch (25mm).
          4.Apply a mortar scratch coat to cover the metal lath and apply the stone while the scratch coat is still moist. If the scratch coat dries before applying the stone, the scratch coat should be remoistened by spraying it with water.
 
          F.Installations over Metal Panels:
          1.Cover the approved substrate with a weather resistant barrier. Lap joints by applying felt horizontally with the upper layer lapped over the lower layer not less than 2 inches (51mm) and end laps not less than 6 inches (152mm). Install specified metal lath in accordance with manufacturer's requirements. Use galvanized lath for exterior applications and black metal lath for interior applications.
          2.Lap lath sides not less than 1 inch (25mm) and end laps not less than 1 inch (25mm). Lath must be attached with the small diamonds pointing upwards. On inside and outside corners, overlap at least 16 inches (406mm) in each direction.
          3.Attach wire lath using corrosion-resistant self tapping screws with a 3/8 inch (10mm) head which provides a minimum 1/2 inch (13mm) penetration beyond the inside metal surface.
          4.Apply a mortar scratch coat to cover the metal lath and apply the stone while the scratch coat is still moist. If the scratch coat dries before applying the stone, the scratch coat should be remoistened by spraying it with water.
 
          G.Installations over Clean Untreated Masonry:
          1.On newly poured concrete examine the area for release agents (form oils).
          2.Where present, the surface must be etched using an appropriate acid or Sand Blasting. Surface must be rehydrated with water prior to installing stone.
          3.In areas where masonry substrate cannot be adequately cleaned, attach metal lath with corrosion-resistant nails or other approved fasteners
 
          H.Installations over Painted, Sealed or Dirty Masonry:
          1.Clean the surface down to the masonry by sandblasting, pressure washing, acid etching or wire brushing before installing stone veneer. Surface must be rehydrated with water prior to installing stone
          2.In areas where masonry substrate cannot be adequately cleaned, attach metal lath with corrosion-resistant nails or other approved fasteners.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install Manufactured Stone in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          3.4PROTECTION
 
          A.Seal Sunset Stone products in areas of abnormal moisture contact and exposure to chemicals such as Magnesium Chloride (ice melt products). It is recommended using an impregnating breathable class of sealers, and applying per manufacture recommendation, in these areas of abnormal moisture exposure.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
