          1.4SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
 
          B.[ Product Data ]: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Provide manufacturer's approved shop drawings for all flashing conditions and construction methods found on the project.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete selection samples if colors have already been selected.
 
          D.Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.
 
          E.Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product, color, and patterns.
 
          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Products listed in this section shall be provided by a single manufacturer with at least ten (10) years experience in manufacturing waterproofing components.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Products listed in this section shall be installed by a single organization certified by the manufacturer or demonstrate at least five (5) years experience successfully installing waterproofing products on projects of similar type and scope as specified in this section.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the key types of work on the project.
 
          C.Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
          1.Finish areas designated by Architect.
          2.Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect.
          3.Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          1.8WARRANTY
 
          A.Provide products that are guaranteed with respect to uniformity and quality within printed specifications.
 
          B.At project closeout, provide to the owner an executed copy of the manufacturers limited warranty protecting the applicator from delamination caused by manufacturing defect for a period of five (5) years.
 
          PART 2PRODUCTS
 
          2.1MANUFACTURERS

          B.Substitutions: Not permitted.
 
          C.Requests for substitutions will be considered in accordance with provisions of Section 01600.
 
          2.2APPLICATIONS/SCOPE
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Systems listed below are for common Multicoat Specialty applications. Do not alter without first contacting Multicoat for suitability. Coordinate required products with subsequent articles accordingly.
 
          A.Slatex Below Grade Waterproofing System: Multi-layer protective coating which combines an elastomeric waterproofing membrane with resin modified cementitious top coating.
          1.Base Waterproofing Layer: Mulasticoat.
          2.Protective Coating: Scratch Kote 2000.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Retain only coating materials that are specifically required on this project. Delete all others not required.
 
          2.3COATING MATERIALS
 
          A.Mulasticoat:
          1.Coverage: 80 to 100 square feet (7.4 to 9.3 square meters per coat per gallon (3.8 l).
          2.Color: Blue.
          3.Physical Performance:
          a.Tensile/elongation - ASTM D 412: Aged 717psi / 392 percent.
          b.Bond Strength Concrete - ASTM C 297: 192 psi.
          c.Low Temperature Flexibility: -5 F (-21C).
          d.Percolation - 2 inch x 48 inch (51mm x 1219mm) waterhead- 48hrs: No Loss.
          e.Accelerated Aging - ASTM D 756 D + E: 25 cycles: Passed.
          f.Water Vapor Transmission - ASTM E 96 BW: 0.0044 Grains / hr / square foot.
 
          B.Scratch Kote 2000:
          1.Coverage: rolled on at 175 sq. ft. (16.25 sm) /sack; sprayed on at 200 sq. ft. (18.6 sm) /sack.
          2.Color: Grey.
          3.Physical Performance.
          a.Weatherometer - ASTM G 23: 2000 Hours.
          b.45 Day Compressive Strength - ASTM C 109: 2595 psi.
          c.Tensile Strength - ASTM C 190: 457 psi.
          d.Bond Strength - ASTM C 297: 225 psi.
          e.Freeze Thaw - ASTM C 67: Passed 50 Cycles.
 
          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation. Surfaces shall be free of all grease, oil, paint, dirt, dust, sealers, or other foreign materials that may hinder proper bonding.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3GENERAL APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          B.Do not install when temperatures are outside of the manufacturer's recommended limits.
 
          C.Install only when forecasted weather permits. Do not install during inclement weather.
 
          3.4SLATEX BELOW GRADE SYSTEM APPLICATION
 
          A.Brush, broom, blow any loose dirt and dust from wall and footing.
 
          B.Fill all cracks, seams and holes with Scatch Kote 2000.
 
          C.Roll on or spray on Mulasticoat per manufactures instructions, 2 coats minimum.
 
          D.Allow first coat to completely dry, Mulasticoat turns dark blue when dry, apply the second coat. Allow second coat of Mulasticoat to completely dry before the application of Scratch Kote 2000.
 
          E.Inspect surface for pinholes or other imperfections. Recoat areas as necessary to attain a fully waterproof monolithic membrane.
 
          F.Clean surface thoroughly prior to application of Scratch Kote 2000.
 
          G.Apply Scratch Kote 2000 in a full and even coating and allow at least 24 hours curing time before backfilling.
 
          3.5PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
