LP TechShield radiant barrier sheathing is an easy, cost effective way to increase a home's energy efficiency in hot climates and create a more comfortable living environment. TechShield features a thin, durable sheet of aluminum overlay laminated to LP Oriented Strand Board (OSB). It prevents up to 97 percent of the sun's radiant heat, absorbed by the roof, from entering the attic, so homes stay cooler and attic air conditioning units operate more efficiently. Best of all, it installs just like regular roof sheathing.
Independent research from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas found that radiant barriers can reduce energy consumption by up to 35 percent during peak hours in the summer months and by up to 29 percent over extended periods. Homeowners will begin to see a return on their investment immediately in terms of greater comfort and reduced energy usage and TechShield will continue to save energy for the life of the home.
