	PART 1	GENERAL
	1.1	SECTION INCLUDES

	1.3	SUBMITTALS
		A.	Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
		B.	Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
			1.	Preparation instructions and recommendations.
			2.	Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
			3.	Installation methods.
	** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete selection samples if colors have already been selected.
		C.	Selection Samples: For each finished product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available materials and finished appearance.
		D.	Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, nominal size 5 1/2 inches (140 mm) square representing actual product with finished color and texture.
	1.4	QUALITY ASSURANCE
		A.	Installer Qualifications: Installer shall have a minimum of two year's experience installing similar materials.
		B.	Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
			1.	Finish areas designated by Architect.
			2.	Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship and appearance are approved by the Architect.
			3.	Modify mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
	1.5	DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
		A.	Inspect materials upon delivery to assure that specified products have been received. Keep damaged material identified as damaged and removed from the site.
		B.	Store materials in safe area, away from construction traffic; store under cover and off ground, protected from moisture.
	1.6	PROJECT CONDITIONS
		A.	Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

	1.7	WARRANTY
		A.	Material Warranty: Provide manufacturer's standard warranty and as follows:
			1.	RealSide™, US Locations: 10 year warranty against rot, delamination and excessive swelling for installation.
			2.	RealSide™, Canadian Locations: 15 year warranty against rot, delamination and excessive swelling using an approved rainscreen technique.
			3.	RusticSeries™: As provided by siding substrate manufacturer.
		B.	Coating Warranty: Provide manufacturer's standard warranty and as follows:
			1.	RealSide™ Coatings: 15 year warranty with primer and one coat of "ColorGuard" factory applied coatings.
			2.	RealSide™ Coatings: 25 year warranty with primer and two coats of "ColorGuard" factory applied coatings.
			3.	RusticSeries™ Coatings: 10 year warranty on the coating when factory applied.
	PART 2	PRODUCTS
	2.1	MANUFACTURERS

	** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Bevel siding is installed horizontally, providing shadow lines which vary with the siding thickness selected. Available in clear and knotty grades, finger-joined or solid wood in lengths up to 16 feet. The precision-fit finger-joints are virtually invisible and stronger than the surrounding fiber. Delete the following article if Bevel Siding is not required.

	PART 3	EXECUTION
	3.1	PREPARATION
		A.	Coordinate work with related trades; scribe and cope siding boards for accurate fit. Allow for installation of related work to avoid cutting and patching.
		B.	Select siding boards of longest practical lengths. Discard boards that are warped, twisted, bowed, crooked or otherwise defective.
	3.2	INSTALLATION
		A.	Comply with siding manufacturer's and substrate manufacturer's installation instructions. Comply with local building codes and regulations.
		B.	Apply touch up coating on surfaces and ends cut during installation.
		C.	As work proceeds, maintain premises free of unnecessary accumulation of tools, equipment, surplus materials, and debris related to this work.
	3.3	PROTECTION
		A.	Protect installed products until completion of project.
		B.	Touch-up, repair or replace damaged materials prior to Substantial Completion.
