          1.4SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
 
          A.The components of the GenFlex TPO Roof System shall be products of GenFlex Roofing Systems or approved by GenFlex Roofing Systems as compatible and acceptable. Unless specifically included in the warranty coverage by GenFlex Roofing Systems, products by others are excluded from coverage.
 
          B.Provide an installed roofing membrane and base flashing system that does not permit the passage of water, and will withstand the design pressures calculated in accordance with the most current revision of ASCE 7.
 
          C.Regulatory Requirements: Exterior fire test exposure and windstorm rating.

          1.6QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Single-ply roofing membrane manufacturer with a minimum of 30 years experience, and a minimum of 10 years experience manufacturing TPO roof membrane.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete contractor type not required. GenFlex Q3 Licensed Preferred Contractor required for projects requiring 20 year Roofing System Warranty.
          1.GenFlex Licensed Contractor as defined and certified by GenFlex with a minimum of 2 years documented experience installing the roofing system specified.
          2.GenFlex Q3 Licensed Preferred Contractor as defined and certified by GenFlex with a minimum of 3 years documented experience installing the roofing system specified.
 
          C.Source Limitations: Components listed shall be provided by a single manufacturer or approved by the primary roofing manufacturer.
 
          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Materials, except membrane, shall be stored between 60 degree F (16 degree C) and 80 degree F (27 degree C). If exposed to lower temperatures, restore to 60 degree F (16 degree C) minimum temperature before using.
 
          C.Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
 
          1.8PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          B.Do not apply roofing during precipitation of any type.
 
          C.Roofing contractor shall follow all federal state and local codes and safety requirements.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
 
          D.In re-roofing applications, do not tear off more roof than can be covered in the same work day.
 
          E.Do not roof over wet substrate. The building owner's representative or the roofing contractor shall determine whether the substrate is appropriate to roof over.
 
          1.9WARRANTY
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Consult GenFlex literature for availability of warranty, warranty combinations and system and construction requirements for desired warranty coverage. For warranty periods of 5, 10 and 15 years select the option for Licensed Contractor in Quality Assurance Article in Part 1 of this section. The TPO membrane conforming to ASTM D 6878 is intended for use as a single-ply roofing membrane on commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.

          2.6ACCESSORIES
 
          A.The components of the GenFlex TPO Roof System are to be products of GenFlex Roofing Systems or approved by GenFlex Roofing Systems as compatible and acceptable.
 
          B.The GenFlex Roofing Systems Applicator shall use accessory types required by GenFlex Roofing Systems to satisfy warranty requirements for coverage type and period specified.
 
          2.7FABRICATION
 
          A.Metalwork should be fabricated and installed according to SMACNA and National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) guidelines.
 
          B.Sheet width shall be determined by Contractor unless specified otherwise. Contractor to provide required construction and accessories for sheet width selected to comply with GenFlex Roofing Systems requirements.
 
          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1SUBSTRATE EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared. Deficiencies in new or existing decking must be corrected prior to installation of the roofing system. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions. Substrate surfaces shall be dry and free of ice and snow prior to installation of insulation and roofing materials.
 
          B.The substrate should have positive slope to properly drain. If the substrate is not properly sloped, additional drains or tapered insulation should be installed.
 
          C.When re-roofing over existing roofing, do not roof over wet existing roofing materials, insulation or decking. All existing wet substrate must be cut out and replaced with comparable dry material before proceeding.
 
          D.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete 10 of 11 substrate types listed below.
 
          E.Substrate:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** GenFlex roof systems may be installed directly over plywood, provided the substrate is free of contamination, sharp edges and protrusions. Delete deck types and substrates not required.
          1.Type: Plywood decks 15/32 inch (12 mm) minimum thick plywood for wood decks.
          2.Type: Wood plank decks 3/4 inch (19 mm) minimum thick lumber for wood decks.
          3.Type: Steel deck, 22 Gauge minimum required.
          4.Type: Structural concrete, minimum compressive strength of 3000 psi (20.7 MPa).
          5.Type: Concrete plank, minimum thickness of 2 inches (51 mm).
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Standard GenFlex TPO may not be applied directly over lightweight insulating concrete. Delete if not required.
          6.Type: Lightweight concrete or gypsum, minimum thickness of 2 inches (51 mm).
          7.Type: Cementitious wood fiber, minimum thickness of 2 inches (51 mm).
          8.Type: Existing Gravel BUR or Coal Tar Pitch; manufacturer approved minimum thickness insulation board.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** For mechanically attached systems using TPO membrane.
          9.Type: Smooth surface BUR or modified APP/SBS roof system, existing smooth surfaced BUR overlaid with a manufacturer approved minimum thickness insulation or separator sheet.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
          10.Type: Existing single-ply membrane roofs - all types; the existing membrane shall be cut into 10 feet (3000 mm) by 10 feet (3000 mm) pieces and overlaid with acceptable rigid board insulation.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** In a metal roof recover application, the building owner or owner's representative is responsible for determining that the substrate is capable of supporting the GenFlex metal recover roof system.
          11.Type: Existing metal roof recover.
          a.Metal recover substrates typically are not 22 ga (0.76 mm) steel or heavier and require fastener pullout testing prior to submittal to determine the proper fastener assembly pattern based on the pullout values achieved.
          b.A positive slope is recommended to provide adequate drainage. Per NRCA guidelines, there shall be no ponding water on the roofing system forty-eight hours after it has stopped raining.
          c.Any existing sprayed-in-place urethane foam roofs shall be removed prior to the installation of this roofing system.
          d.An approved insulation filler board is required to be installed tightly between and the same height as the standing seams.
          e.An approved cover board is required over the filler boards and standing seams to provide a smooth level surface for the EPDM roof membrane system.
          f.Wood nailers are required at the roof perimeter to match height of insulation and cover board.
 
          3.2INSTALLATION
 
          A.Wood Nailers: Install in accordance with GenFlex Roofing System requirements.
          1.Treated wood nailers shall be provided at roof edges where metal gravel stops, drip edges and gutter systems are scheduled. The width of the nailer shall exceed the width of the flange of any metalwork mounted to it and be of equal thickness to the roof insulation. Minimum width for wood nailers is 3-1/2 inches (89 mm).
          2.Wood nailers shall be provided under any roof top curbs that are not mounted directly to the structural deck.
          3.Wood nailers shall be #2 Grade or better lumber. Wood treated with preservatives containing Creosote, Asphalt, Pentachlorophenol, Copper Naphthenate and Copper 8-quinolinolate are NOT acceptable for use in a GenFlex Roofing System.
          4.Wood nailers shall be anchored sufficiently to resist 200 pounds of force (889 n) minimum per linear foot in any direction with fasteners spaced not more than 24 inches (600 mm) apart.
          5.Provide construction complying with Perimeter Flashing portion of Factory Loss Prevention Data 1-49.
 
          B.Insulation:
          1.Identify the area of roof being addressed in the workday and make insulation watertight by the end of each workday.
          2.Do not install insulation boards that are wet or damaged.
          3.Stagger insulation joints the maximum amount possible and layout with joints tightly butted. Gaps greater than 1/4 inch (6 mm) wide shall be filled with matching insulation material.
          4.When installing insulation greater than 2-1/2 inches (63 mm) thick use multiple layers. Install each subsequent layer with the long axis running perpendicular to the layer below it with joints staggered and tightly butted. Fit insulation tightly to roof penetrations, wood nailers, transitional walls and parapets with no gaps greater than 1/4 inch (6 mm). Any gap greater than 1/4 inch (6 mm) shall be filled with like material prior to membrane application.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Steel deck application. Delete if not required.
          5.Layout insulation with edges resting on the upper deck flute.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** If ' Fully adhered TPO system' or ' Peel and stick TPO fully adhered system' or ' Fleece backed TPO fully adhered system' is selected in Article 1.1 of this section for ' Single-Ply Thermoplastic Membrane Roofing Systems', then select one of the following three subparagraphs for attachment method. If ' Mechanically attached TPO system' or 'Metal roof recover mechanically attached TPO system' is selected in Article 1.1 of this section for 'Single-Ply Thermoplastic Membrane Roofing Systems' then the following mechanical attachment method must be selected.
          6.Attachment Method: Mechanically fastened insulation.
          a.Mechanically attach insulation to the approved deck with manufacturer's fasteners and insulation plates approved for use on the type of deck and warranty required. Consult membrane manufacturer's specifications and warranty requirement reference guide. Pullout tests are required on Cementitious wood fiber, gypsum, and OSB decks.
          b.Fasteners shall penetrate the deck the minimum depth required by manufacturer's specifications for the specific deck type but never less than 3/4 inch (19 mm). Consult membrane manufacturer's specifications.
          7.Attachment Method: Adhesive attached insulation.
          a.Insulation shall be secured to the approved substrate with GenFlex One Step Insulation Adhesive. Apply adhesive ribbons to the substrate at the published rate appropriate for the specific approved substrate.
          b.Using 4 feet (1200 mm) by 4 feet (1200 mm) maximum insulation boards, layout insulation immediately into the adhesive ribbons with joints tightly butted and walk into place.
          c.Ensure adequate contact between the adhesive and the insulation facer.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required. Roofing asphalt is neither supplied nor specified by GenFlex, and the performance of asphalt used to attach roof insulation is not included in the GenFlex warranty. In the event the project designer selects this method of attachment, the following requirements shall be met.
          8.Attachment Method: Asphalt attached insulation; insulation shall be secured with steep asphalt ASTM D 312 Type III or IV.
          a.Insulation shall not be attached with asphalt directly to a steel, wood, gypsum, or cementitious wood fiber deck.
          b.Expanded or extruded polystyrene insulation shall not be attached with asphalt.
          c.Maximum board size shall be 4 feet (1200 mm) by 4 feet (1200 mm).
          d.If the insulation assembly consists of the first layer being mechanically fastened and the second layer being hot asphalt attached, the fastening rate of the first layer shall be per GenFlex requirements for the insulation type.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete subparagraph below unless ' Ballasted TPO system' is selected in Article 1.1 of this section for 'Single-Ply Thermoplastic Membrane Roofing Systems.'
          9.Attachment Method: Insulation shall be loose laid.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete options for membranes to correspond with selection made in Article 1.1 of this section for 'Single-Ply Thermoplastic Membrane Roofing Systems'.
 
          C.Membranes:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete membrane installation systems not required. The fully adhered TPO system may be installed on roofs up to 50 feet (15.2 m) in height. For heights exceeding 50 feet (15.2 m), contact GenFlex Roofing Systems Technical Department, prior to project bidding.
          1.Fully Adhered TPO Membrane: (includes metal roof recover fully adhered systems).
          a.Position the GenFlex TPO membrane over approved substrate without stretching.
          b.Allow the membrane to relax a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour prior to any seaming or flashing.
          c.Position adjoining sheets in a manner that all sheets overlap a minimum of 2-1/2 inches (63 mm).
          d.Fold sheet back so one-half (1/2) of the underside of the sheet is exposed.
          e.Apply Bonding Adhesive to the substrate and the membrane. 100 percent adhesive coverage on the membrane and substrate is required.
          f.Allow adhesive to dry completely to a dry finger touch push test. Roll the adhesive coated membrane into the adhesive coated substrate, avoiding wrinkles.
          g.Fold back the unbonded half of the sheet, and repeat bonding procedure.
          h.Apply adjoining sheets in same manner, lapping edges a minimum of 2-1/2 inches (63 mm).
          i.Perimeter attachment is required at each roof level, curb, skylight, expansion joint and roof penetration over 12 inches (305 mm) in diameter, or any angle with slope or combined slopes that exceed 2 inches (51 mm) vertical for every 1 foot 305 mm) horizontal.
          j.Any wrinkles found in the splice area or that impedes the flow of water drainage, shall be cut out, laid flat and repaired using TPO membrane and standard repair procedures.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The Peel and Stick system may be installed on roofs up to 50 feet (15.2 m) in height. For heights exceeding 50 feet (15.2 m), contact GenFlex Roofing Systems Technical Department, prior to project bidding. Delete if not required.
          2.Peel and Stick Membranes:
          a.Position the GenFlex TPO membrane over approved substrate without stretching.
          b.Allow the membrane to relax a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour prior to any seaming or flashing.
          c.Position adjoining sheets in a manner that all sheets overlap a minimum of 2-1/2 inches (63 mm).
          d.Fold sheet back so one-half (1/2) of the underside of the sheet is exposed.
          e.Apply GenFlex Clear Primer to the approved substrate in the area to be covered and allow to dry until tacky, per manufacturer's requirements.
          f.Remove release paper and bond the membrane to the substrate.
          g.Fold back the other half of the sheet, and repeat bonding procedure.
          h.Apply adjoining sheets in same manner, lapping edges a minimum of 2-1/2 inches (64 mm).
          i.To ensure full contact, roll the completed areas of membrane using a minimum 75 lb (34 kg) weighted roller.
          j.Perimeter attachment is required at each roof level, curb, skylight, expansion joint and roof penetration over 12 inches (305 mm) in diameter, or any angle with slope or combined slopes that exceed 2 inches (51 mm) vertical for every 1 foot 305 mm) horizontal.
          k.Any wrinkles found in the splice area or that impedes the flow of water drainage, shall be cut out, laid flat and repaired using TPO membrane and standard repair procedures.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete Fully Adhered Fleece Backed System if not required. The Fully Adhered Fleece Backed TPO system may be installed on roofs up to 50 feet (15.2 m) in height. For heights exceeding 50 feet (15.2 m), contact GenFlex Roofing Systems Technical Department, prior to project bidding.
          3.Fully Adhered Fleece Backed TPO Membrane:
          a.Position the GenFlex Fleece Backed TPO membrane over approved substrate without stretching at the starting point of the roof.
          b.Allow the membrane to relax a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour prior to any seaming or flashing.
          c.Chalk a line for alignment in the direction the membrane will be unrolled.
          d.Unroll 10 to 15 ft. (3 to 4.5 m) of membrane making sure it is properly aligned on the chalk line.
          e.Fold the membrane back over the roll without wrinkles or buckles exposing the approved substrate.
          f.To the substrate ONLY apply FB (Fleece Backed) Bonding Adhesive achieving 100 percent coverage. Allow adhesive to dry completely to a dry finger touch push test but still tacky. Do not over dry.
          g.Roll the Fleece Backed TPO membrane into the adhesive, avoiding wrinkles.
          h.Apply adjoining sheets in same manner, lapping edges a minimum of 2-1/2 inches (63 mm).
          i.Broom the membrane to achieve full contact into the adhesive and remove air pocket.
          j.Roll the membrane using a heavy (approximately 150 lb. (68 kg.) roller
          k.Follow the single weld hot air weld seaming procedures below.
          l.Membrane laps where fleece is present such as end laps on rolls must be accomplished by butting the membrane and hot air welding 6 inch (152.4 mm) wide cover strip of reinforced TPO membrane.
          m.Perimeter attachment is required at each roof level, curb, skylight, expansion joint and roof penetration over 12 inches (305 mm) in diameter, or any angle with slope or combined slopes that exceed 2 inches (51 mm) vertical for every 1 foot 305 mm) horizontal.
          n.Any wrinkles found in the splice area or that impedes the flow of water drainage, shall be cut out, laid flat and repaired using TPO membrane and standard repair procedures.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The Ballasted Standard Design System may be installed on buildings up to 50 feet (15.2 m) in height. For heights exceeding 50 feet (15.2 m), contact GenFlex Roofing Systems Technical Department, prior to project bidding. Delete if not required.
          4.Ballasted TPO Membrane Systems:
          a.The insulation beneath the ballasted membrane system shall be loose laid. If the insulation is to be secured, it must be adhered with One Step Insulation Adhesive.
          b.Position the GenFlex TPO membrane over approved substrate without stretching. Lay out the TPO membrane in as large size sheets as practical.
          c.Position adjoining sheets in a manner that all sheets overlap a minimum of 2-1/2 inches (63 mm).
          d.Allow the membrane to relax a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour prior to any seaming or flashing.
          e.Hot air weld the membrane overlap seams according to the single weld seaming instructions below.
          f.Perimeter attachment is required at each roof level, curb, skylight, expansion joint and roof penetration over 12 inches (305 mm) in diameter, or any angle with slope or combined slopes that exceed 2 inches (51 mm) vertical for every 1 foot 305 mm) horizontal.
          g.Apply a minimum of 10 lb per square foot (48.9 kg/sm) of ballast over the membrane. Additional ballast may be required to comply with wind uplift protection. The stone ballast shall be washed round river gravel no less than 3/4 inch (19 mm) in diameter and no greater than 1-1/2 inches (38 mm) in diameter. Ballast shall not contain more than 5 percent fines by volume and no more than 7 percent fractured material.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The following attachment is recommended when applying GenFlex TPO Paver Design Zone 1 and 2 up to 50 feet (15.2m). NOTE: A slip sheet is NOT required when an approved ballast paver is used.
          h.As an alternative to stone ballast, interlocking, smooth bottom surface pavers may be installed over the TPO, per paver manufacturer's instructions.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The following attachment is required when applying GenFlex IRMA Design Zone 1 - up to 50 feet (15.2 m). Delete if not required.
          i.To ensure water tightness, a flood test shall be performed prior to applying the IRMA insulation board and ballast. Repair leaks.
          j.An inspection shall be scheduled to ensure compliance to GenFlex requirements prior to applying the IRMA insulation board and ballast.
          k.Place approved extruded polystyrene insulation over the watertight TPO.
          l.An approved woven rock/stone mat shall be placed over the insulation. Overlap at edges no less than 4 inches (102 mm).
          m.Ballast material shall be installed over the rock/stone mat and insulation with coverage of no less than 10 lb/sf (48.9 kg/sm).
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The Mechanically Attached Systems may be installed on roofs up to 50 feet (15.2 m) in height. For heights exceeding 50 feet (15.2 m), contact GenFlex Roofing Systems Technical Department, prior to project bidding. Delete if not required.
          5.Mechanically Attached TPO Membrane Systems:
          a.Position adjoining sheets over the pre-secured insulation or approved substrate in a manner that all sheets overlap a minimum of 4-1/2 inches (114 mm).
          b.TPO Field Roof Membrane shall be secured to the approved deck using manufacturer's seam plates or anchor bars and fasteners placed within the seam overlap area as specified by the membrane manufacturer.
          c.Perimeter half sheets are required on mechanically attached roof systems in order to mitigate the effects of wind along the edges of the roof per the roofing system manufacturer's specifications.
          d.Perimeter membrane attachment is required at each roof level, curb, skylight, expansion joint and roof penetration and at any deck or substrate angle change greater than 2 / 12.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The mechanically Attached TPO Metal Recover System may be installed on roofs up to 50 feet (15.2 m) in height. For heights exceeding 50 feet (15.2 m), contact GenFlex Roofing Systems Technical Department, prior to project bidding. Delete if not required.
          6.Mechanically Attached TPO Metal Roof Recover membrane:
          a.Lay out GenFlex 10 inch (254 mm) TPO Peel and Stick RMA strips with the adhesive tape side facing up on top of the cover board insulation that has be pre-secured to the metal roof. Center the RMA over the purlins in the pattern shown in the membrane manufacture's specifications, typically the first 2 purlins in the perimeters of the roof and every other purlin in the field. Do not remove the release paper at this time.
          b.Secure the RMA strip through the cover board, insulation, and existing metal roof to the steel purlins using GenFlex Purlin Fasteners through GenFlex Metal Anchor Bars or 2-3/8 inch (60 mm) Seam Plates placed down the center of the RMA strips. Attach either 6 inches (152 mm) on center or 12 inches (304 mm) on center depending on the purlin spacing. Refer to membrane manufacturer's specifications.
          c.Lay out the TPO field membrane in as large as sheets as practical. Allow a 2-1/2 inch (63 mm) overlap of adjoining sheets.
          d.Allow the membrane to relax a minimum of one-half (1/2) hour prior to any seaming or flashing.
          e.Fold the membrane back and apply GenFlex Clear Primer to the back side of the membrane in the areas that will contact the Peel and Stick RMA strips.
          f.After the primer has dried but still tacky, remover the release paper from the RMA adhesive strips and roll the membrane into place.
          g.Using a silicone roller, hand roll the entire area where the membrane is adhered to the adhesive tape on the RMA strips.
 
          D.Seaming:
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Splicing with Single-Weld Seam. Applies to fully adhered, ballasted, and mechanically attached TPO systems. Delete if not required.
          1.Single Weld Seaming:
          a.Thoroughly clean an area on both sheets at least 4 inches (102 mm) wide if seam area has become contaminated with dirt, debris, etc.
          b.Using an approved automatic heat welding machine or hand held heat gun and Teflon roller, continuously weld a minimum 1-1/2 (38 mm) wide seam.
          c.All TPO membrane cut edges with exposed reinforcement scrim require application of GenFlex TPO Edge Sealant at the end of every work day.
          d.GenFlex T-Joint Covers are recommended at the intersections of 3 or more layers of 0.045 (1.14 mm)TPO membrane and ARE REQUIRED for 0.060 (1.52 mm) and 0.080 (2.03 mm) membrane.
          e.Any wrinkles found in the splice area or that impedes the flow of water drainage, shall be cut out, laid flat and repaired using TPO membrane and standard repair procedures.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Only available if ' Mechanically attached TPO system' is selected in Article 1.1 of this section for 'Single-Ply Thermoplastic Membrane Roofing Systems.' Applies to mechanically attached systems utilizing bar-in-seam membrane attachment method only. Delete if not required.
          2.Dual Weld Seaming: High wind zone applications only - special welder required.
          a.Thoroughly clean an area on both sheets at least 6 inches (152 mm) wide if seam area has become contaminated with dirt, debris, etc.
          b.Using an Automatic Dual Seam Welder continuously weld a minimum 1 inch (25 mm) wide weld on both sides of the GenFlex metal or polymer anchor bar in the seam.
          c.All TPO membrane cut edges with exposed reinforcement scrim require application of GenFlex TPO Edge Sealant at the end of every work day.
          d.GenFlex T-Joint Covers are recommended at the intersections of 3 or more layers of 0.045 (1.14 mm)TPO membrane and ARE REQUIRED for 0.060 (1.52 mm) and 0.080 (2.03 mm) membrane.
          e.Any wrinkles found in the splice area or that impedes the flow of water drainage, shall be cut out, laid flat and repaired using TPO membrane and standard repair procedures.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Typical for both seaming methods. Do not delete.
          3.Seam Verification: Welded seams shall be manually checked for voids or seal deficiencies with a blunt tip metal probe once cooled. Any identified seam deficiencies shall be repaired using an approved hand held heat gun, silicone roller and standard seam repair procedures.
 
          E.Flashing:
          1.Provide perimeter attachment at each roof level, curb skylight, expansion joint and roof penetration over 12 inches (305 mm) in diameter or any angle change with slope or combined slopes that exceed 2 inches (52 mm) in 12 inches (305 mm) horizontal.
          2.Do not allow material to bridge where there is a change of direction.
          3.Flash all penetrations passing through the roofing membrane according to membrane manufacturer's standard details. Use manufacturer's pre-molded flashing accessories wherever possible.
          4.Install GenFlex TPO Membrane Flashing on all curbs and walls.
          5.Apply GenFlex TPO Cover Tape to strip-in metal gravel stops/edge metal.
          6.Install GenFlex Pre-molded Inside/Outside Corners at walls and curbs
          7.Install GenFlex Pre-molded Pipe Boots on all pipes where applicable.
          8.Install GenPocket T pitch pans on all irregular penetrations where appropriate and fill with GenFlex Pourable Sealer
          9.Prepare substrate around each roof drain to prevent membrane bridging or distortion and to provide a smooth transition from the roof surface to the drain clamping ring. The surface between the clamping ring and the drain must be clean and smooth.
          10.Provide one complete tube of GenFlex Waterstop is required per drain.
          11.Bolts and/or clamps shall be in place in order to provide constant, even compression.
          12.Do not run seams through roof drains or sumps.
 
          3.3PROTECTION
 
          A.Walkway: Provide GenFlex walkway pads at access points to the roof.
 
          B.Night Seal
          1.At the completion of each day's work, temporarily seal any loose edge of membrane with an appropriate sealant. Prevent water from entering beneath any completed sections of roof.
          2.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          C.Repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
 
          3.4INSPECTION
 
          A.Upon completion of the installation, an inspection shall be conducted by a Technical Representative of GenFlex Roofing Systems to ascertain that the roofing system has been installed according to the membrane manufacturer's most current published specifications and details.
