          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
          4.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings:

          2.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: All products are to be provided by a single manufacturer with at least ten (10) years experience manufacturing all materials specified in this section.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Products are to be applied by a single installer with a minimum of five (5) years experience successfully installing all products specified in this section.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          C.Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
          1.Finish areas designated by Architect.
          2.Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect.
          3.Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
 
          2.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Avoid Prolonged exposure to sunlight.
 
          2.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          B.Temperatures are not to exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit (49C) or go below 25 degrees Fahrenheit (-4C).
 
          2.8WARRANTY
 
          A.At project closeout, provide to the owner a copy of the manufacturer's standard form document outlining the terms, conditions and duration of their Limited Warranty Against Manufacturing Defect.

          1.Composition: 3 ounce (85g) copper sheet laminated with polyester film on one side and bonded With 40 mils of rubberized asphalt on the other with a siliconized release liner
          2.Total Thickness: 50 mils
          3.Physical Characteristics: self adhering, self sealing around punctures, high tensile strength, flexible at low temperatures, resistant to alkalis and acids, high puncture and abrasion resistance.

          3.6ADHESIVES AND PRIMERS
 
          A.AQUAFLASH 500 Mastic: All-weather, solvent based rubberized asphalt mastic specifically formulated to promote maximum adhesion between the asphalt sheet membrane and the substrate.
          1.Viscosity: 4000 poise.
          2.Flash Point: 100 Degrees F (37.8C).
          3.VOC: 240 g/l.
 
          B.Primer: To be used for substrate preparation as recommended by waterproofing membrane Manufacturer
 
          PART 4EXECUTION
 
          4.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          4.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete the next two paragraphs if NOT installed over masonry surfaces.
 
          C.All masonry surfaces should be reasonably smooth, free from loose materials and debris and completely dry. There should be no slopes which would prevent free flow of water to exterior surface or wall.
 
          D.Weep holes should be installed for proper drainage and appropriate mortar deflection products.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Retain the next article ONLY if AQUAFLASH 500 is specified.
 
          E.Primer Application:
          1.Spray, roll or brush apply primer at a rate of 250 - 300 square feet (23.2 - 27.9 sm) per gallon
          2.At 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24C), allow primer to dry 1 hour.
          3.Re-prime prior to application of waterproofing membrane if either contaminated by dust or primer has exceeded the maximum 8 hour dry time.
 
          4.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          B.All flashings are to be installed in accordance with approved shop drawings and details and in accordance with manufacturer's installation recommendations.
 
          C.Install flashings at all the following conditions: through-walls, foundation sills, window and door sills and heads, foundation base, parapets, spandrels, and other areas which are indicated on drawings.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Retain the next paragraph ONLY if AQUA FLASH or COPPER AQUAFLASH is specified.
 
          D.Trim edges of Copper Aqua Flash or lay membrane 1/2 inch (13mm) back from masonry surface.
 
          E.Trim flashing flush with face of masonry.
 
          4.4PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
