          1.4SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods and product limitations.
 
          C.Shop Drawings:
          1.Provide large scale shop drawings for fabrication, installation and erection of all parts of the work.
          2.Provide plan, elevation and section views of each product specified, and details of anchorages, connections and accessory items.
 
          D.Test Reports: Provide test reports for rain dispersal rates, static load capabilities, and corrosion resistance.

          E.Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.

          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Single manufacturer specializing in rain dispersal systems must provide all primary materials. Secondary or accessory materials must be acceptable to manufacturer of primary materials and not conflict with warranty terms or conditions.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Installer shall demonstrate a minimum of two (2) years experience successfully installing rain dispersal systems of similar type, size and scope as listed in this section.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Deliver materials and products in unopened, factory labeled packages. Store and handle in compliance with manufacturer's recommendations. Store under cover and protect from damage.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Where applicable, maintain environmental conditions within limits recommended by manufacturer for satisfactory results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's limits.
 
          B.Substrates: Proceed with work only when roof, soffit and fascia construction is complete.
 
          1.8WARRANTY
 
          A.At project closeout, provide to owner or owners representative a copy of the manufacturer's standard warranty form outlining the terms and conditions of the 25 year limited warranty against manufacturing defects.

          2.2RAIN WATER DISPERSAL SYSTEM
 
          A.Rainhandler Roof Rain Water Dispersal System: Run-off water management system providing an effective alternative to traditional gutter and downspout systems. Handles rooftop rain and water runoff without necessary cleaning, maintenance, or ground erosion.
          1.Louvers: 0.032 inch (0.8mm) 3105 Alloy Aluminum, Temper H14, in 5-foot long sections, with six equally spaced cross spacers fabricated from 0.080 inch (2mm) 3105 alloy aluminum, temper H14, complying with ASTM B 209/B 209M.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Select FINISH to match fascia color. Units may be field painted. Delete three of the next four paragraphs. Insert spray paint color if selected.
          2.Finish: Mill finish.

          2.3RAIN DIVERTER
 
          A.Doorbrella Rain Diverter: For directing roof runoff away from unprotected doorways, entrances, and other areas where water runoff is undesirable.
          1.Size and Location: Two 36 inch (914mm) sections. Mount as indicated on the Drawings.
          2.Material: 0.032 inch (0.8mm) 3105 Alloy Aluminum, Temper H14, complying with ASTM B 209/B 209M.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Select FINISH to match roof color. Delete one of the next two paragraphs.
          3.Finish: Mill finish.
          4.Finish: Chocolate Brown Baked Enamel.
 
          2.4ACCESSORIES
 
          A.Drip Edge Extender (DEE): For directing roof runoff to the center of the Rainhandler when the drip edge along the eave does not extend a minimum of 1 1/2 inches (38mm) from the fascia.
          1.Material: 0.032 inch (0.8mm) 3105 Alloy Aluminum, Temper H14, complying with ASTM B 209/B 209M.
          2.Mounting: Mount to fascia with provided screws as applicable to project needs and as shown on contract drawings.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Provide Drip Edge Extender in standard 5-foot lengths, width as indicated below. 3 1/8 inch units for roof mounted applications. All others are for fascia mounted applications. Delete four of the next five paragraphs.

          B.Roof Valley Rain Diverter (RVRD): For diverting of concentrated valley runoff where necessary to avoid overshooting the Rainhandlers.

          E.Angled Fascia Adapters: For repositioning of the Rainhandler Bracket relative to the fascia and adjustment of the mounting plane to plumb in applications in which the fascia is perpendicular to the roof.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Angled Fascia Adapters should match roof pitch as closely as possible. For roof pitches between those listed, select closest bracket or combination of brackets and adjust as required. Delete bracket pitches not required.

          G.Screws: Aluminum hex head #2 Phillips drive sheet metal screws, heads painted to match system, as provided by the manufacturer.
          1.10-16 x 1/2 inch (13mm) screws for mounting to fascia.
          2.8-32 x 1/4 inch (6mm) self-tapping screws to attach components to each other.
 
          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Examine roof edge and fascia for conditions detrimental to the proper completion of the work. Do not proceed with work until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. Commencement of work will be construed as acceptance of substrates and conditions.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces prior to installation.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions except where more restrictive requirements are specified in this Section.
 
          B.Surfaces must be dry and clean.
 
          C.For accessories provided with self- adhesive, outside temperature shall be above 55 F (13 C). A heat gun may be used to achieve required temperatures when installing Doorbrella or Roof Valley Rain Diverter.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete the next paragraph if RAINHANDLER is not specified.
 
          D.Install Rainhandler units plumb, level, in alignment and plane without warp or rack. Screw securely in place, but do not overtighten. Always mount at the bottom edge of the fascia. Must be a minimum of 3 1/2 inches (89mm) below drip edge.
 
          E.Install Rainhandler brackets against plumb fascia bracket pitches a nominal 8 degrees down away from fascia. Aluminum shims or washers may be used to compensate for fascia out of plumb.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete the next paragraph if DOORBRELLA is not specified.
 
          F.Install Doorbrella on the surface of the bottom course of shingles above the area to be protected using self-adhesive, angling as indicated on the Drawings. Caulk entire top edge of Doorbrella, all shingle keyways directly above Doorbrella and all joints between connecting sections.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete the next paragraph if DRIP EDGE EXTENDER is not specified.
 
          G.Snug roof edge extender tight against any projecting roof edge. Where no projections exist, align even with roof edge. Screw into fascia with 1/2 inch (13mm) screws (provided). Caulk along roof edge to seal between fascia and DEE.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete the next paragraph if Valley Rain Diverters are not specified.
 
          H.Mount Roof Valley Rain Diverter in the roof valley on either shingles or flashing at the bottom of the roof edge using provided self-adhesive. Mount at angles indicated on the Drawings; bend Roof Valley Rain Diverters by hand to fit the exact contour of the valley. RVRD may be bent slowly at roof peak and adhesive flanges.
 
          3.4ADJUSTMENT AND PROTECTION
 
          A.Adjust components where necessary to achieve correct operation.
 
          B.Rainhandler products will not support a ladder. Use a standoff when performing maintenance or service.
 
          C.Provide temporary protection at all times during the course of the work to ensure the work of this Section is not damaged in any way at time of final acceptance.
 
          D.Inspect all work, and touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
