Performance Characteristics:

UL listed.

Minimum Live Load: 40 lbs per sq ft (195.3 kg per sq m).

Maximum Deflection: 1/150th of the span or 20 lbs per sq ft (97.6 kg per sq m) wind uplift.
4.
Automatic, Simultaneous, and Controlled Vent Opening: When latch is manually released or heat breaks fusible link. Surrounding roof surfaces not to be damaged by vent opening process.
5.
Weathertight: Fully welded corner joints on cover and curb.
6.
Latch Mechanisms: Withstand 30 lbs per sq ft (146.4 kg per sq m) wind uplift on cover.

Cover held in closed position not overstressing fusible link.
8.
Latch Operation: Instantaneous release and opening of vent covers when UL listed fusible links fail due to heat. Designed for easy resetting, after a fire or test. Covers cannot be latched closed unless the mechanism has been properly reset. Covers automatically lock in the open position with a rigid hold open arm.

3.
Insulation: 1.0 in (25 mm) thick fiberglass, fully covered and protected by metal liner.

Curb Fixed Safety Guard: 3/4 in (19 mm), 9 gauge, 0.153 in (3.89 mm) steel, raised expanded metal grid welded to a fixed angle on all four sides inside the base of the curb.

Curb Fixed Safety Guard: 3/4 in (19 mm) .125 (3.2 mm) aluminum raised expanded metal grid welded to a fixed angle on all four sides inside the base of the curb.

Curb Louvers: 8 by 24 in (203 by 610 mm), T-63815 aluminum louvers, with mill finish, mounted with insect screens into three non-hinge sides of the curb.
9.
Insulation: Rigid,1 in (25 mm) high-density fiberboard thick on outside of curb.
F.
Lifting mechanisms: Compression spring operators enclosed in anti-corrosive composite material telescopic tubes to open the covers against a snow and wind load. Upper and the outer tube prevents accumulation of moisture, grit, and debris inside lower tube assembly. Lower tube shall interlock with a flanged support shoe. Heavy duty shock absorbers provided to assure controlled opening of the covers.

Latch mechanism: Bilco Thermolatch positive hold and release mechanism with a separate latching point for each cover controlled by a single fusible link.
1.
Fusible Link: UL listed 165 degrees F (74 degrees C), curb mounted on a non-hinged end allowing the latch mechanism to be easily reset from roof level.

A.
Do not begin installation until substrates and openings have been properly prepared.

If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
