          1.6PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

          O.Metal Finish: E-Coat Primer; the CED epoxy primer, black color with extended shelf life, suitable for coating with a wet or dry paint system. Top coat prior to installation.
 
          P.Metal Finish: Black powder coating with UV stablizers; requiring no additional coating.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if custom colors are not required for the project.
 
          Q.Metal Finish: Custom color polyurethane enamel, Imron 326 by Dupont, over primer; color as selected.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete types of fasteners that are not required.
 
          R.Fasteners for Metal Seam Mounted Units: Stainless steel set-screws with hex bit heads.
 
          S.Fasteners for Surface Mounted Units: Self-tapping screws with neoprene washers; stainless steel or corrosion resistant metal. Use in conjunction with adhesive mounting method.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Use the following paragraph if roofing products are copper-based materials.
          1.On copper based roofing materials use only copper, brass or stainless steel fasteners; do not use aluminum or galvanized fasteners.
 
          T.Sealant and Adhesive: SureBond SB-190 Everseal Sealant Caulk.
 
          U.Tape: Acrylic, 2-sided foam type tape for low load requirements.
          1.Acceptable Product: 3M VHB Tape.
 
          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until the metal roofing system has been completely installed.
 
          B.If metal roof system installation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory conditions before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Adhesive Mounted Units: Clean all contact surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the roofing system installed under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Seam Mounting: Place snow guard over roof panel seams in the approved layout pattern. Tighten set-screws with hex bit sockets and 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) drive ratchet until fully engaged.
 
          B.Surface Mounting, Adhesive Attachment: Place snow guards in approved layout pattern. Apply sealant to cover the surface of the unit to be in contact with the roof. After positioning unit on roof surface, apply compression sufficient to squeeze the sealant out around the perimeter of unit base. Point up joint around perimeter of unit base with a bead of sealant as required creating a waterproof joint, free of gaps or air pockets.
 
          C.Surface Mounted, Mechanical Attachment: Pre-drill holes in base of unit before placing in approved layout pattern. Install as specified for adhesive attachment, screw self-tapping screw fasteners with a neoprene washer through the predrilled holes into the surface of the roof panels. Seal fastener heads and base perimeter with sealant.
 
          D.Tape Mounting: Completely apply tape to underside surface of the unit to be in contact with the roof. Compress tape to eliminate air pockets. Position unit on roof and press against roof surface until entire unit surface makes full contact with no gaps. Maintain minimum of 50 degrees F (10 degrees C) for 72 consecutive hours for proper bond curing.
 
          3.4PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
