Michael Rizza Company has been in business for over 25 years. Our products are designed to provide protection from moisture and to withstand multi-directional movement caused by wind, settling, thermal expansion or construction and seismic activity. Fire resistant capabilities can also be incorporated into any application. We feature our systems in silicone, for its durability, colorfastness and UV and fire resistant capabilities; however we also offer some of our profiles in other materials to meet special requirements. In consideration of building aesthetics, these systems are visually narrower than most other expansion seal systems and can be made to match your color requirements. We can also furnish special shapes to meet your movement requirements.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1PREPARATION
 
          A.Field measurements: Verify dimensions and conditions in field for work fabricated to fit project conditions.
 
          B.Do not proceed with installation until substrates have been properly prepared and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected. Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of conditions.
          C.Prepare substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
D.If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.
 
          3.2INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install expansion joint assemblies per manufacturers approved shop drawings.
          B.Cut and fit seals as required for proper installation. Use longest pieces practical. Make joints only as shown on shop drawings. Miter seals at changes of direction in same plane. Join seals at internal corners, external corners, changes in direction, and butt joints with sealant and stainless steel corner angles where applicable.
C.Seal joints between expansion joint assemblies and adjacent construction with sealant, type as recommended by manufacturer.
 
          3.3PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect assemblies from damage until adjacent construction is complete.
 
          3.4CLEANING
 
          A.Do not remove protective material until finish work in adjacent areas is complete.
          B.When protective material is removed, clean exposed metal surfaces to comply with manufacturer's instructions.
