          2.2ALUMINUM-FRAMED GLASS STOREFRONT, THERMALLY BROKEN
 
          A.Aluminum-Framed Glass Storefront, Thermally Broken: Series TC470e as manufactured by Arcadia Architectural Products, Inc..
          1.Description: 2-1/4 x 4-1/2 inches (57 mm x 114 mm) thermally broken; captured offset glazed, 2 sided and 4 sided structural silicone, screw spline, shear block, compensating stick or punched opening fabrication for 1 inches (25 mm) glass
          2.Design Requirements: Arcadia TC470 Series is a framing system suitable for outside or inside glazing. Glass shall be forward of frame, with optional structural silicone support at verticals and horizontals. Provides for two-color capability.
          3.Performance:
          a.Air Leakage Through Assembly: 0.06 CFM/min/sq. ft. (.00003 m3/sm2) of wall area at 6.24 PSF (300 Pa) as measured in accordance with ASTM E283.
          b.Water Resistance: No water leakage when measured in accordance with ASTM E331 with a static test pressure of 12PSF.
          c.Dynamic Water Resistance: No water leakage, when measured in accordance with AAMA 501.1-94 with a dynamic test pressure of 12PSF.
          d.Limit mullion wind load deflection to L/175 with full recovery of glazing materials, when measured in accordance with ASTM E 330.
          e.System shall not deflect more than 1/8 inch (3 mm) at the center point, or 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) at the center point of a horizontal member, once dead load points have been established.
          f.System shall accommodate expansion and contraction movement due to surface temperature differential of 180 degrees F.

          a.Doors shall be fabricated from aluminum extrusions of 6063-T5 alloy and temper with a minimum wall thickness of 0.100 inch (2.5 mm) for the sill member and a minimum of 0.072 inch (1.8 mm) for all other members, including frame, sash and optional sash dividers. The aluminum shall be free of defects which impair strength and appearance.
          b.Component parts and accessories shall be of aluminum alloy, stainless steel or non-metallic materials, which will neither deteriorate nor promote corrosion.

          b.All panel members will have a minimum 1.03125 inch (26.2 mm) glass penetration into the aluminum to provide extra protection against de-glazing or blow out in high wind conditions.

The aluminum shall be free of defects which impair strength and appearance.
          b.Component parts and accessories shall be of aluminum alloy, stainless steel or non-metallic materials which will neither deteriorate nor promote corrosion.

It is engineered to meet the rigid impact and hurricane standards of Miami-Dade county utilizing 9/16" laminated impact glass.           B.Construction:
          1.Doors shall be fabricated from aluminum extrusions of 6063-T6 alloy and temper with a minimum wall thickness of 0.065 inch (1.7 mm) for the frame, sash members and glass stops. The aluminum shall be free of defects which impair strength and appearance.
          2.Component parts and accessories shall be of aluminum alloy, stainless steel or non-metallic materials, which will neither deteriorate nor promote corrosion.
          3.Aluminum profiles are extruded and thermally broken by means of two continuous polyamide bars 0.708 inch (18 mm) wide with 25 percent glass fiber content as per standard ASTM D 5630. Polyamide bars shall have a tensile strength of 652,000 psi per standard ASTM D 638 and are attached to the aluminum extrusions via continuous mechanical crimping. Prior to the crimping, both aluminum profiles shall be properly knurled.

          4.The sill shall be a 2-3/8 inches (60 mm) height.
          5.The sill shall be a of ADA compliant height.
          6.The Frame shall be 3-1/4 inches (82 mm) in depth. The Sash shall be 2.84 inches (75 mm) in depth. Frame and Sash are overall 5-1/4 inches (133 mm) in height. The threshold central gasket is protected from pedestrian traffic by an aluminum extrusion referred to as the "threshold".
          7.The door incorporates an open joint design with weep holes that prevent accumulation of condensation and water. The polyamide bars have suitable geometrical shape to avoid water-stagnation.
          8.Hardware: Hinges are fabricated from extruded aluminum with non-removable and non-magnetic stainless steel hinge shaft. Hinges provide horizontal adjustment of +/- .039 inch (1.00 mm). Hinge installation shall not require machining of profiles. The lock is a multi-point type, reversible and corrosion resistant. The lock includes adjustable rolling pins, dead bolt and latch, mortise construction with reinforced lever spring system. Cylinder lock is a mortise with 11 stainless steel pins. A special cylinder-key profile is used to prevent the use of picks and breaking tools. The cylinder lock has a high torsion resistance and is rated for 50,000 cycles. Handles are made of aluminum and provided in finish to match the aluminum extrusion. The handles are made by HOPPE and are of the lever type with a 5/16 inch (8 mm) square shaft and available as a single or double sided handle set up as indicated or required.

          9.Assembly: The joinery between the horizontal and vertical profiles shall fit perfectly and be aligned for both sides, internal and external. Corner joint will be assembled using extruded or die cast heavy duty corner-cleats. These corner cleats are either crimped or riveted in place at each corner joint and then corner joint filled with a 2-part epoxy to ensure no movement and permanent set. The joinery between horizontal and vertical profiles shall be carefully sealed before final assembly.
          10.The glazing beads shall be fitted by snap or bayonet method. They are positioned directly into the channels of the aluminum profiles using an EPDM gasket that provides better air and water tightness. Gaskets shall be made of EPDM. The central gasket shall form a continuous and tight seal. Pre-formed vulcanized corners shall be used. Central-gasket joints are cut at a 90 degree angle and bonded to the vulcanized corners. A one piece vulcanized central gasket can be used as an alternative to the above solution. The glazing is accomplished via EPDM wedge gaskets and appropriate aluminum glass stops to accommodate glass construction as scheduled.
