SUBMITTALS
A.
Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
B.
Product Data: Submit manufacturer's product data including materials, components, profiles, fabrication, finishes, capacities, operational data, and accessories for each product to be used, including:
1.
Preparation instructions and recommendations.
2.
Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
3.
Installation methods.
C.
Shop Drawings:
1.
Provide drawings indicating details and relationship with adjacent construction.
2.
Include complete elevations, doors, frames, and sidelites, methods of anchorage, hardware and mounting heights, size, shape, joints, connections, options and finishes.
3.
Include wiring diagrams, operator, activation and control devices, and hardware schedule.

Hurricane Doors:
a.
Design Pressures: Project design pressures shall be calculated based on ASCE 7 by a professional engineer. The project design pressure as determined by ASCE 7 are permitted to be multiplied by 0.7 and must not exceed the allowable product pressure in the tested NOA approval.
b.
Fasteners: Match assembly screws and anchors in the Miami-Dade NOA for H105 unit and FBC for H60 unit, anchor spacing and loads may not exceed maximum limits in the tested NOA approval.
c.
Wood blocking and similar materials installed by others shall be properly anchored to transfer impact loads to the building structure. Show all adjacent materials on engineered shop drawings.
D.
Test Reports: Submit certified test reports indicating doors comply with specified performance requirements.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
A.
Manufacturer Qualifications: Member of AAADM with minimum 5 years experience manufacturing similar products.
1.
Single Source Responsibility: Doors, frames, and operational components shall be provided by the same manufacturer.
B.
Installer Qualifications: Certified by AAADM, approved by manufacturer, with minimum 2 years experience installing similar products.
C.
Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70 by a qualified testing agency.
D.
Automatic Equipment: Comply with ANSI A156.10.

E.
Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.

DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A.
Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation. Handle materials in accordance with the manufacturers instructions to avoid damage.
1.7
PROJECT CONDITIONS
A.
Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

WARRANTY
A.
Warranty: Manufacturer's standard form to repair or replace automatic entrance components, power operators, controls and labor against defects in material and workmanship, at no cost to owner, for the specified warranty period. Provide warranty to owner after completion of installation.

A.
Automatic Operation:
1.
Operator: Factory assembled and sealed unit including gear-driven transmission and bearings filled with lubricant for extreme temperature conditions.
a.
Transmission System: 24V DC Brush-less motor with sealed ball bearings. 1/10 HP motor operating from 115-volt supply with less than 5 amps at full stall.
b.
Housing: 6063-T5 aluminum alloy with minimum thickness of 0.140 inches (4mm), three piece construction of 6-1/2 inch (165mm) by 7-1/2 inch (191mm) extrusion with end caps. Telescopic units 8-3/4 inches (222 mm) by 7-1/2 inches (191 mm).
2.
Operation: Electro-mechanical operator with reinforced timing belt and microcomputer control system pulls door to open or closed positions by reducing voltage and stalling door against a mechanical stop.
a.
Adjustable opening and closing speeds are set in accordance with ANSI A156.10.
b.
All adjustments shall be specific and reproducible. Settings with rotary switches will not be permitted.
c.
Microprocessor control allows the opening and closing speeds, back check speed, latch check speed and back check and latch check positions each to be adjusted separately and independently to meet specific site conditions.
d.
Doors may be held closed with the motor.
e.
The control system provides transistor output signals at the door closed or door open positions for interaction with security and access control systems.

A single input can initiate an emergency close and lock whereby the door immediately closes upon activation of a specific circuit.

Sensor units sealed for protection against dust and moisture.

Redundant safety: In addition to the presence sensors on both sides of the header, units include minimum one set of infrared safety beams across the walk through opening to prevent the door from closing if there are any obstructions.

Acuzone Hybrid Microwave Sensor:

Activation is achieved by Doppler microwave for long range sensing and presence sensing with active-infrared with deeper detection area with 4-mode mutual interference prevention function.

Unit has separate outputs for microwave and infrared signals. Sensors combining both microwave and infrared signals on one output will not be permitted.
c.
Acuzone can also look back through the threshold to provide additional safety coverage when the door is open.
3.
Holding Beams: Additional set of holding as recommended by manufacturer.
C.
Break-Away Panels:
1.
Door panels attached to a door carrier hanger assembly with cantilever pivot assembly and corrosion resistant adjustable breakaway release latch holding panels in the closed position under normal automatic operation.
2.
Cantilever pivot assembly allows the door panel to be broken outward at any point in the door's opening or closing cycle for safe emergency egress in compliance with NFPA 101.
3.
The door panel in the breakout mode disconnects the power to the control circuit inhibiting automatic door operation. The control circuit is reset by re-engaging the door panel with the door carrier hanger assembly.
4.
Breakaway pressure is field adjustable from 5 to 50 lbs (22N to 222N) to meet local building code requirements, factory setting is 50 lbs (222N) maximum.

PART 3 EXECUTION
 
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
Examine and measure installation areas are prepared to receive automatic sliding doors and site conditions are within the manufacturers limits.
B.
Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared and necessary building services are installed.
1.
Slab Installation: Floor shall be level and smooth within manufacturer's tolerances without changes in elevation between foundation and associated walkways.
2.
Electrical Installation:
a.
Provide conduit and electrical wiring for activating devices and door operators including minimum of 5 amperes, 115 volts, A/C, 1-phase circuit for each door operator.
b.
Terminate and connect to operator control panel in operator housing.
C.
If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
3.2
PREPARATION
A.
Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
B.
Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
3.3
INSTALLATION
A.
Automatic door equipment shall be installed by factory-trained installers in compliance with manufacturer's recommendations, ANSI/BHMA A156.10 and approved shop drawings.
B.
Connect door operators and access control devices to building services. Install and adjust sensors to detection field and functions required.
C.
Install glazing in accordance with Section 08800 - Glazing.
D.
Install units complete with accessories in accordance with approved submittals and manufacturer's recommendations. Install in proper relationship with adjacent construction. Separate dissimilar metals with bituminous coating or other material acceptable to the Architect.
E.
Install sealants in accordance with Section 07920 - Joint Sealers.
F.
Lubricate bearings and adjust doors for proper operation, balance, clearance and similar requirements.
G.
Adjust door operators, controls, and hardware for operation and specified tightness.
3.4
FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A.
Manufacturers Field Service:
1.
Provide initial inspection and technical assistance as recommended by manufacturer.
2.
AAADM certified technician shall inspect and approve doors for compliance with ANSI/BHMA 156.10 prior to placing doors into operation.
3.5
PROTECTION
A.
After installation, clean framing members as recommended by the manufacturer.
B.
Remove and legally dispose of construction debris from project site.
C.
Remove temporary coverings and protection of adjacent work areas. Repair or replace installed products damaged prior to or during installation.
D.
Protect installed products until completion of project.

Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
