	1.4	PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
		A.	Tubular daylighting system consisting of exterior flashing with acrylic dome, interior tube and interior ceiling adapter assembly with expansion tube and prismatic diffuser assembly, transferring sunlight to interior spaces; complies with ICBO/ICC AC-16.

		B.	Sun Tunnels Models TGF and TGR to withstand dead and live loads caused by pressure and uplift of wind acting normal to plane of roof as tested in accordance with National Evaluation Services, Inc. to a download pressure of +19,140 Pa (400.00 psf) and an uplift pressure of -6,240 Pa (130.41 psf) measured in accordance with ANSI/ASTM E 330, AAMA/WDMA 1600/I7 and PA 202/.
		C. 		A.	Manufacturer Qualifications: Engaged in manufacture of tubular skylights for minimum three years.
	1.7	DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
		A.	Deliver products in manufacturer's original containers, dry, undamaged, seals and labels intact.
		B.	Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
	1.8	PROJECT CONDITIONS
		A.	Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
	1.9	WARRANTY
		A.	Tubular Daylighting Devices: Manufacturer's standard 10 year material warranty.

	** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** VELUX Commercial Sun Tunnel can be installed on flat roofs or with slopes up to 30 degrees. System meets OSHA fall protection requirements.
		A.	Commercial Tubular Daylighting Device: VELUX Commercial Sun Tunnel, Model TCR 022, nominal 22 inch diameter, with low a profile flashing system, exterior acrylic dome, rigid elbow, rigid telescoping tunnel, flexible tube, interior ceiling adapter assembly and interior diffuser assembly.
			1.	Exterior Dome: Atofihna HF17101 injection molded acrylic, 0.125 inch (3.2 mm) thick injection molded.
			2.	Flashing System: one piece, self-flashing, 24 gauge Galvalume aluminized sheet steel. Flashing system acceptable for roof slopes ranging from 0 to 30 degrees.

			6.	Rigid Top Elbow: Fabricated elbow 22 inches (559 mm) nominal outside diameter and 33 inches (838 mm) in length with Alanod PVD coated aluminum, MIRO-Silver, 24 gauge thickness with a greater or equal 98 percent total reflectance. Maximum 30 degree offset from vertical. Elbow is factory assembled and fastened with rivets along vertical seam, and installed through flashing system at roof level.
			7.	Rigid telescopic tube: Fabricated 22 inches (559 mm) nominal outside diameter with adjustable length of 29 inches to 60 inches (737 mm to 1524 mm), Alanod PVD coated aluminum, MIRO-Silver with a greater or equal 98 percent total reflectance and a 24 gauge thickness. Telescopic tube is factory assembled and fastened with rivets along vertical seam.
			8.	Flexible Bottom Elbow: Metalized polyester, fiberglass scrim and spring steel wire, 22 inches (559 mm) nominal outside diameter, 24 inches (610 mm) in length meeting the requirements of ASTM E 84 and UL 746C Standard for Safety for Polymeric Material. Functions as a expansion joint for tubular daylighting system and permits alignment flexibility when positioning ceiling adapter assembly into ceiling.
			9.	Ceiling Adapter Assembly for suspended tile ceilings and finished ceilings: White ABS thermoplastic, tested in accordance with ASTM D 635 and ASTM D 1929. Interior surface, white diffuse. Adapter assembly is factory attached to flexible tube, and houses prismatic diffuser and steel diffuser frame. Adaptor assembly designed for installation in standard acoustical tile ceiling system. Assembly size as follows:
				a.	Top: 21.25 inches (540 mm) in diameter.
				b.	Bottom: 23.875 inches by 23.875 inches (606 mm by 606 mm) square.
				c.	Overall Height: 9.25 inches (235 mm) overall height

	2.3	ACCESSORIES
		A.	Fasteners: Same material as metals being fastened, non-magnetic steel, non-corrosive metal of type recommended by manufacturer, or injection molded nylon.
		B.	Sealant: Polyurethane or copolymer based elastomeric sealant as provided or recommended by manufacturer.
	2.4	FABRICATION
		A.	Finish, fabricate and shop prepare all assemblies under responsibility of the manufacturer.
		B.	Fabricate to allow for thermal movement of materials where subject to a temperature differential.
		C.	Fabricate with Integral internal condensation collection gutter and drainage slots.
		D.	Provisions shall be made to insure against accumulated water in contact with system components.
	PART 3	EXECUTION
	3.1	EXAMINATION
		A.	Do not begin installation until substrates and rough openings have been properly prepared.
		B.	Verify rough opening dimensions and proper orientation of tubular daylighting device.
		C.	If substrate and rough opening preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
	3.2	PREPARATION
		A.	Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
		B.	Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
	3.3	INSTALLATION
		A.	Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
		B.	Align tubular daylighting device free of warp or twist, maintain dimensional tolerances.
	** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The following paragraph is required for Model TCR. Delete if not required.
		C.	Attach tubular daylighting system to site built roof curb with manufacturer's screws to accommodate construction tolerances and other irregularities.
	** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** The following paragraph is required for self flashed Models TRM, TMF, TGR and TGC. Delete if not required.
		D.	Attach tubular daylighting system to the roof deck with manufacturer's screws to accommodate construction tolerances and other irregularities.
		E.	Provide thermal isolation when components penetrate or disrupt building insulation. Pack fibrous insulation in rough opening to maintain continuity of thermal barriers.
		F.	Coordinate attachment and seal of perimeter air and vapor barrier material.
		G.	After installation of first unit, field test to determine adequacy of installation. Conduct water test in presence of Owner, Architect, or Contractor, or their designated representative. Correct if needed before proceeding with installation of subsequent units.
