It is a stand-alone, PC independent, PMS (Property Management System) compatible system with easy to read wide-screen displays; up to 8 check-in stations can be linked as a multi-front desk configuration with up to 100 operators. Auto Deadbolt: Each time the guest closes the door Onity's Auto Deadbolt engages for added security. This UL approved locking system operates with Onity electronic locking systems. It features a 1 inch (25.4 mm) deadbolt along with a 3/4' (19 mm) door latch that meets the ANSI Grade 1 standard. UL approved for installation on fire doors. Includes an internal fusible link. Guests can indicate privacy simply by turning the thumb-turn from inside their room. When staff inserts their key card, a red light shows.

	1.4	SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
		A.	General Description:
			1.	System includes magnetic and smart card reader locks, system computer hardware, software and components, with magnetic stripe or smart cards.

			2.	System shall be backward compatible with existing access control systems.
		B.	Design Requirements:
			1.	Electronic Lock:
				a.	The lock shall accommodate a variety of finishes and handle styles.
				b.	The lock shall have an automatic relock feature when the outside handle has been turned.
				c.	The lock shall have a selectable extended ADA "open time" card access feature to facilitate the operation by a disabled end user.
			2.	Latch/Lock Set:
				a.	Mortise lockset shall conform to BHMA Grade One, and meet UL 10B Fire Rating.
				b.	Deadbolt override cards for emergency level (programmable).
				c.	Simultaneous retraction of deadbolt and latch bolt. 1inch (25 mm) steel dead bolt and 3/4 inch (19 mm) anti-friction latch bolt.
				d.	A dead latch shall block the latch.
				e.	Exterior door applications shall have special weather protection package.
		C.	Performance Requirements:
			1.	Provide front desk system and electronic locking manufactured and installed to maintain performance criteria specified without defects, damage or failure.

			2.	Manufacturer trained, certified or otherwise acceptable to manufacturer.
		C.	Regulatory Requirements:
			1.	Building Codes: Comply with regulations of Authority Having Jurisdiction.
			2.	Rated Assemblies: Furnish locksets for fire-rated openings in compliance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 101.
			3.	Locking System Standards: Provide electronic locking system complying with the following:

	1.8	PROJECT CONDITIONS
		A.	Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
	1.9	WARRANTY
		A.	Manufacturer/installer has responsibility for an extended Corrective Period for work of this Section for the period stated from date of Substantial Completion against all the conditions indicated below, and when notified in writing from Owner.
			1.	Door locksets: 2 years.
			2.	Computer system: 2 years.
			3.	Card readers and equipment: 2 years.
		B.	Manufacturer/installer shall promptly and without inconvenience and cost to Owner correct deficiencies:
			1.	Failure due to defective materials and workmanship.
			2.	Failure due to programming and embedded factory installed system information.
		C.	Contractor/manufacturer/installer shall be notified immediately of defective products, and be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the goods prior to return. Manufacturer will not assume responsibility, or compensation, for unauthorized repairs or labor.

	3.1	EXAMINATION

		D.	If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
	3.2	PREPARATION
		A.	Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
		B.	Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
	3.3	INSTALLATION
		A.	Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
		B.	Electronic Locking System Installation:
			1.	Guest doors: Install electronic lock units at the locations as scheduled.
			2.	Back of house doors: Install electronic lock units at the locations as scheduled.
			3.	Egress doors: Install electronic locking system on egress doors in compliance with regulatory agency requirement for emergency operation and latching.
			4.	Rated doors: Install electronic locking system on rated doors in compliance with regulatory agency requirement for rated assembly.

	3.4	FIELD QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
		A.	Manufacturer's Field Services: Provide manufacturer's field service consisting of product use recommendations and periodic site visit for inspection of product installation in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
	3.5	ADJUSTING
		A.	Adjusting: Check and adjust operation of lock units in place, to ensure proper latching and locking. Replace units if any are not fully functional as received.
	3.6	CLEANING
		A.	Cleaning: Remove temporary coverings and protection of adjacent work areas. Repair or replace damaged installed products. Clean installed products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions prior to Owner's acceptance. Remove construction debris from project site and legally dispose of debris.
	3.7	PROTECTION
		A.	Protect installed products until completion of project.
		B.	Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
	3.8	OWNER'S INSTRUCTION
		A.	Instruct Owner's personnel in operation and maintenance of installed units.
		B.	Provide instruction to ensure that the electronic lock system is operated properly. Training shall be accomplished before Owner's personnel operate the system, and shall occur at the site of the project. Include training of managers, front desk, maintenance, security, housekeeping and other staff personnel as identified.
