          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Submit shop drawings for each type of visual display board required, showing layout, profiles and product components, including anchorage, accessories, finish colors, patterns and textures.
 
          D.Quality Assurance/Control Submittals: Submit the following:
          1.Certificates: Product certificates signed by manufacturer certifying materials comply with specified performance characteristics, criteria and physical requirements.
 
          E.Closeout Submittals: Submit the following:
          1.Operation and Maintenance Data for installed products in accordance with Division 1 Closeout Submittals (Maintenance Data and Operation Data) Section.

          F.Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two complete sets of color chips representing manufacturer's full range of face material and trim for finishes, colors and textures. Submit manufacturer's color charts.
 
          G.Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) square, representing actual product of face, core, backing material and trim for finishes, colors and textures.
 
          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in visual display surfaces and which has at least 5 years experience in the production of the products specified.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: Installer experienced in performing work of this section who has specialized in installation of work similar to that required for this project.
 
          C.Regulatory Requirements:
          1.Conform to applicable code for flame/smoke rating of tackboards in accordance with ASTM E84.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          D.Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
          1.Finish areas designated by Architect.
          2.Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship and finish color are approved by Architect.
          3.Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Deliver factory built units completely assembled in one piece without joints whenever possible. Where dimensions exceed panel size, provide two or more pieces of equal length as acceptable at the factory, disassemble for delivery, and make final joints at the jobsite. Use H-bar at joints to maintain alignment.
 
          C.Storage and Protection: Store materials protected from exposure to harmful weather conditions and at temperature and humidity conditions recommended by manufacturer.
 
          D.After opening and inspecting boards for damage, return them to their original crates or cartons for storage and do not uncrate until boards are to be installed.
          1.When uncrated, do not allow boards to lean at an angle against a wall or other objects, or to lie on the floor for any length of time.
          2.Store boards in as close to a vertical position as possible.
 
          E.Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          B.Existing Conditions:
          1.Verify actual dimensions by field measurement before fabrication; show recorded measurements on shop drawings.
          2.Coordinate field measurements and fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid construction delays.
 
          1.8WARRANTY
 
          A.Manufacturer's Warranty: Submit, for Owner's acceptance, manufacturer's standard warranty document executed by authorized company official. Manufacturer's warranty is in addition to, and not a limitation of, other rights Owner may have under Contract Documents.

          1.Submit a "Warranty", stating that under normal usage and maintenance, and when installed in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations are guaranteed for the life of the building.           3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          C.Site Verification of Conditions: Verify substrate conditions, which have been previously installed under other sections, are acceptable for product installation in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          D.Verify that interior temperature and humidity approximate normal conditions of building occupancy.
 
          E.Verify that wall surfaces are prepared and ready to receive boards.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

          3.3FACTORY-BUILT INSTALLATION
 
          A.Compliance: Comply with manufacturer's product data, including product technical bulletins, product catalog installation instructions and product carton instructions for installation.
 
          B.General: Do not install boards on damp walls or in damp and humid weather without heat in the building.
 
          C.Install level and plumb, keeping perimeter trim straight in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
 
          D.Adhesive:
          1.L-Clip Installation: Manufacturer recommends the use of a quality construction adhesive (tackable units only) to ensure the integrity of the installation. Apply two golf ball size spots evenly spaced in height at approximately 48 inches (1219 mm) o.c. on the back of the tackable surface.
          2.Hanger-Bar Installation: Manufacturer recommends the use of a quality construction adhesive (tackable units only) to ensure the integrity of the installation. Apply one golf ball size spot of a quality construction adhesive to each blocking pad.
 
          E.Verify that accessories are installed as required for each unit.

          3.4FIELD-ASSEMBLED, SNAP-ON INSTALLATION
 
          A.General: Do not install boards on damp walls or in damp and humid weather without heat in the building.
 
          B.Install units in locations and mounting heights as shown in drawings and in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, keeping perimeter lines straight, plumb, and level. Provide grounds, clips, backing materials, adhesives, brackets, anchors, trim, and accessories for complete installation.
 
          C.Accurately fit continuous grounds to board sizes and fasten continuous grounds to wall as recommended by board manufacturer with rawl plugs or toggle bolts spaced 12 inches (305 mm) o.c. Shim with metal to provide true, plumb and level mounting surface. Correct any unevenness of joints to the satisfaction of the Architect.
 
          D.Rest boards firmly and continuously on bottom grounds and fasten accurately into place with the surface flush with face of grounds. Align permanently. Apply an approved spotting compound to wall surface at joints and intervals in both directions as recommended by the compound manufacturer to provide firm and solid backing with exposed faces in a continuous even plane.
 
          E.After boards have been placed, install aluminum trim. Carefully measure and accurately fit trim. Poor workmanship of this operation, or lack of rigidity of any member will be cause for rejection. Provide one piece vertical trim members, rails and horizontal members. Where length of horizontal members exceeds manufacturer's maximum length, splice only at intermediate vertical members by butt joint.
 
          F.Verify that accessories are installed as required for each unit.
 
          G.Site Tolerances: Install units within manufacturer's recommended tolerances.

          3.5FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
