          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Submit manufacturer's approved shop drawings describing each installation and flashing condition found on the project.

          D.Selection Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples representing manufacturer's full range of available colors and patterns.
 
          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: All primary products specified in this section will be supplied by a single manufacturer with a minimum of ten (10) years experience.
 
          B.Installer Qualifications: All products listed in this section are to be installed by a single installer with a minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in installing products of the same type and scope as specified.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
          C.Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.
          1.Finish areas designated by Architect.
          2.Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship, color, and sheen are approved by Architect.
          3.Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          1.8WARRANTY
 
          A.At project closeout, provide to the owner or owners representative an executed copy of the manufacturer's Limited Warranty Against Manufacturing Defect, warranting materials and workmanship against defects after completion and final acceptance of Work.

          2.7LOUVER ACCESSORIES
 
          A.Exterior Sill: Provide sill flashing of same material and finish as louvers where indicated on drawings.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Identify where bird and insect screens are to be placed: interior or exterior. Usually insect screens are installed on intake louvers and bird screens on exhaust louvers. Do not install insect screens on HVAC intake louvers. Please consult factory representative for additional options regarding screen types.
 
          B.Louver Screens: Provide framed removable screens for exterior louvers.
          1.Bird screens shall be expanded aluminum mesh. Optional (please specify): 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) by 0.063 diameter aluminum mesh wire mounted with removable frame or 18 x 16 mesh 0.011 inch (0.28 mm) aluminum (or steel) diameter wire insect screen.
          2.Locate screens on inside face of louvers.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Select operator required to suit project requirements. Delete four of the next five paragraphs.
 
          2.8FABRICATION
 
          A.Performance: Fabricate as required for optimum performance with respect to water penetration, strength, durability, and appearance.
 
          B.Size: Fabricate louvers in walls to meet dimensions indicated on Contract Drawings.
 
          C.Field Measurement: Verify size, location, and placement of louvers before fabrication.
 
          D.Shop Assembly: Fabricate to minimize field adjustments, splicing, mechanical joints, and field assembly of units.
 
          E.Accessories: Include supports, anchorage, and accessories required for complete assembly.
 
          F.Vertical mullions: Provide vertical mullions of type and spacing indicated but not farther apart than recommended by manufacturer.
 
          G.Horizontal mullions: Provide horizontal mullions at horizontal joints between louver units except where continuous vertical assemblies are indicated.
 
          H.Connections: Join frame and blade members to one another welding, except where field bolted connections between frame members are made necessary by size of louvers.
 
          I.Spacing: Maintain equal blade spacing to produce uniform appearance.
 
          2.9FINISHES
 
          A.Comply with NAAMM Metal Finishes Manual for recommendations relative to application and designations of finishes.
 
          B.Shop Finishing:

          1.Mill aluminum finish.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Verify conditions are suitable for installation.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Advise installers of Work relating to louver installation including dimensions, locations of supports, and anchoring methods. Coordinate delivery with other work to avoid delay.
 
          3.3PROTECTION AND INSTALLATION
 
          A.Protect louvers from damage during storage, installation, and until completion of structure.
 
          B.Install louvers per manufacturer's typical details and instructions along with advice of their qualified representative. Provide necessary fastenings and anchors as required to complete installation. Install units plumb, level, and in proper alignment with adjacent Work.
 
          C.Form tight joints with Work of this Section. Fit exposed connections accurately.
 
          D.Protect metal surfaces from corrosion or galvanic action by application of a heavy coating of bituminous paint on surfaces that are in contact with concrete, masonry, or dissimilar materials.
 
          3.4ADJUSTMENT AND CLEANING
 
          A.Adjustment: Specify applicable product adjustment requirements.
 
          B.Cleaning: Remove temporary coverings and protection of adjacent work areas. Repair or replace damaged installed products. Clean installed products per manufacturer's instructions before completion. Remove construction debris from Project site and legally depose of debris.
