	1.4	DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
	** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Edit as required to suit project requirements. Standard loads are specified below, consult with manufacturer for requirements that exceed those specified as follows.
		A.	Provide factory built prefabricated structures and shelters capable of withstanding the effects of gravity loads and the following loads and stresses within limits and under conditions indicated.

	1.6	REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

Manufacturer certification by USPS Engineering and compliance with USPS-STD-4C is mandatory on all new construction and major renovations on October 5, 2006. STD-4C also introduces a new parcel locker requirement based on a 1:10 parcel locker to customer compartment ratio. Standard 4B+ mailboxes may only be used for replacement purposes after October 5, 2006.

	1.7	QUALITY ASSURANCE
		A.	Manufacturer Qualifications: Manufacturer shall have a Quality System in place to ensure and be able to substantiate that manufactured units conform to requirements and match the approved design and must be ISO 9001:2000 certified.
	1.8	DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
		A.	Inspect the materials upon delivery to assure that specified products have been received.
		B.	Store materials protected from exposure to harmful weather conditions.
		C.	Handle materials to prevent damage or marring of finish.
	1.9	WARRANTY
		A.	Manufacturer's standard warranty to repair or replace components of postal specialties that fail in materials or workmanship within five years from date of Substantial Completion.

	3.1	EXAMINATION

		B.	Examine supporting foundations for compliance with manufacturer's recommendations, including installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of supporting members.
		C.	Verify that load bearing surfaces are ready to receive the work. Beginning installation indicates acceptance of conditions.
