          B.Product Requirements: Radiant heat panels shall be UL, ETL and cETL listed for North America, NEMKO approved for Europe and Asia and EMC certified for EMF Safety.
 
          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

          2.3ACCESSORIES
 
          A.Programmable Thermostat: Thermostat measures both in-floor and ambient air temperatures. Thermostats rated at 1800watts/120volts and 3600watts/240volts as applicable, 15 milliamp GFEP and 5 milliamp GFCI available as applicable.
 
          B.Connector: FC-1001. Crimp connector to make permanent electrical connection from lead wires to heating panel bus-bars.

          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          C.Verify electrical rough-in:
          1.A dedicated appropriately sized to amp load breaker and dedicated circuit.
          2.A GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) / GFEP (ground fault equipment protection) for each panel circuit and thermostat rated at 1800watts/120volts and 3600watts/240volts, depending upon location.
          3.The National Electrical Code requires that each branch circuit used in conjunction with a heating system shall be for the exclusive use of the heating system.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
 
          C.Perfectly Warm Radiant Ceiling Heating System:
          1.Confirm that the ceiling surface is of a material having a thermal insulation value of less than R-0.6 (RSI-0.105).
          2.Confirm that the type of insulation is permitted for use with the system: Unfaced fiberglass batt insulation; Rigid insulation panels; blown-in fiberglass insulation; spray foam insulation only.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
 
          D.Perfectly Warm Floor Joist Installation: Material having a total thermal insulation value of less than R-11 / RSI-2; this includes any floor finish such as tile, hardwood, carpet.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
 
          E.Perfectly Warm Floating Floor Installation: Clean floor surface thoroughly prior to installation. Floor surface must be free of debris and sharp protrusions.

          F.Perfectly Warm Tile Flooring: Verify by test that hydrostatic or moisture vapor rate emissions of the floor do not exceed 4 lbs per 1,000 sq in 24 hours per the Calcium Chloride test method or equivalent.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and in proper relationship with adjacent construction.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
 
          B.Perfectly Warm Radiant Ceiling Heating Installation:
          1.Prepare the Heating Panels. The total number of panels used in a single circuit is limited to 16 amps.
          2.Attach Heating Panels: Nail or staple the panel set in place, leaving at least 6 inches (150 mm) clearance to walls or partitions at the connector end for wiring and final assembly. Nails or staples must be placed every 12 inches (300 mm) along each side of the heating panel set. To make the wiring operations, leave out the last staples at the connection end.
          3.Wire the heating panel sets.
          4.Inspection and Testing: A visual and electrical check on the heating panels shall be performed in accordance with the manufactures procedures prior to activation.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Blown-in insulation installations require fiberglass batt insulation "dams" at the end of each panel set as per page 15 of the installation manual.
          5.Complete the ceiling installation.
          6.Install control device and connect to electrical panel box.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
 
          C.Perfectly Warm Floor Heating Installation:
          1.Install control device box.
          2.Prepare the heating panels.
          3.Attach the heating panel sets.
          4.Wire the heating panel sets.
          5.A visual and electrical check must be performed on the heating panels prior to activation.
          6.Complete the installation.
          a.Install control device and connect to electrical panel box. Install and wire the control device according to manufacturer's instructions.
          b.Install thermal insulation.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete if not required.
 
          D.Perfectly Warm Floating Floor Heating Installation:
          1.Install the junction boxes for the control and non-heating lead terminations.
          2.Install underlayment or 1/4 inch (6 mm) rigid foam.
          3.Install heating elements and route wires to the termination junction box.
          4.Install the vapor barrier over the heating elements.
          5.Inspect the system according to manufacturer's Inspecting / Testing / Completion procedures.
          6.Visually inspect the heating elements for damage.
          7.Perform electrical resistance checks on each element.
          8.Test the system for heating (if power is available).
          9.Install the flooring and trim.
          10.Register the heating system's warranty.
          11.For installation under engineered hardwood and laminate floating floor only - not for installation under carpet

          E.Perfectly Warm Tile Floor Heating System Installation:
          1.Roll or brush on a coat of Protecto Wrap #6000 primer diluted 2 parts clean water to 1 part concentrate and allow to dry to a tacky finish (30 minutes minimum).
          2.Install mats per manufacturer's instructions.
          3.Feed power leads and thermostat sensor to junction box, make proper connections and connect to thermostat.
          4.Completely embed the heating mats and factory connection in mortar (tile and stone) or self-leveling underlayment (laminate and non-masonry) materials.
          5.Record mat and sensor readings in the Mat and Sensor Resistance Log before, during, and after the installation process.
          6.Do not turn on the system for 28 days allowing the thin-set and grout to mature.
          7.Follow the TCNA Handbook recommendations and ANSI references for proper substrate required for thin-set tile installations.
          8.This product is intended to be used with a cementitious mortar bed. If used with latex adhesive tiles a layer of self-leveling material must be installed below tile.
 
          3.4PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
