SUBMITTALS

Submit under provisions of Section 01300.

Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:

Preparation instructions and recommendations.

Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.

Installation methods.

Shop Drawings: Show complete layout, with locations of raceway components, devices indicated by type, and circuits identified.

Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) long, representing actual product, color, and shape.

Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.

DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature and construction operations.

1.6

COORDINATION

Coordinate Work with other operations and installation of finish materials to avoid damage to installed materials.

Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.

Two Piece, Single Channel Raceway: Pan-Way Type LDPH surface raceway is provided with a hinge attaching the cover to the base and tamper resistant characteristics inherit with the design of the latch.

Application: Single channel raceway designed to route, protect and conceal data, voice, video, fiber-optic and/or power cabling.

Two Piece, Multi-Channel Cove Raceway: Pan-Way Type WCM35 cove raceway is a two-piece design with a base and snap-on cover. Raceway shall maintain complete separation of the power and data channels. Components manufactured of rigid PVC compound.

Application: Multi-channel raceway is a two channel raceway separated by an internal barrier and designed to maintain the TIA/EIA-568-B and 569-B required minimum bend radius for high performance copper and fiber optic cabling systems.

Base has its own cover and features for mounting device brackets, hanging boxes, and wire retainers. Divider walls, snap onto the base to form additional wiring channels. Base is available in off-white (IW).

Cover has flanges for snapping onto the base. Cover is available in off-white (IW) and shall also be paintable with latex paint.

Divider wall has flanges, which snap onto the cove base. Divider is available in international gray (IG) color.

Type/Size: Available in 8 foot and 10 foot lengths:

Accessories: Raceways accommodate hinged data brackets for mounting Pan-Net communication outlets in-line within the raceway and an offset two-piece termination box for positioning power or data devices adjacent to the raceways. Faceplates may be a Pan-Way Snap-On faceplate or any NEMA standard 70 mm faceplate. Data faceplates may accommodate up to 4 jacks and be modular in design to accept UTP, Coax, ST, SC, FC and Fiber Jack type of connectors. One and two gang surface mount outlet boxes shall be available for power or data devices. Fast-Snap outlet boxes shall accept Pan-Way Snap-On faceplates. Two Piece, Multi-Channel Raceway: Pan-Way Type T70 Multi-Channel raceway is a two-piece design with a base and snap-on hinging cover. Raceway shall maintain complete separation of the power and data channels.

Base has its own cover and features for mounting device brackets, hanging boxes, wire retainers and snap on faceplates and features for accepting any data or electrical 70 mm faceplates without the use of a proprietary adapter or "special" width faceplates.

Cover has flanges for snapping onto the base and have a tamper resistant cover latch.

Two Piece, Twin Multi-Channel Raceway: Pan-Way Type Twin-70 Multi-Channel raceway three piece design with base and two snap-on covers and features two separate dedicated channels to route, protect and conceal data, voice, video, fiber-optic and power cabling. Raceway shall maintain complete separation of the power and data channels.

Application: Twin multi-channel system to route, protect and conceal data, voice, video, fiber optic and power cabling. Separate channels allow independent access to power and communication cabling throughout the entire system. System is UL and CSA rated 600 V; meets UL 5A and CSA C22.2 No. 62.1-03 standards; FT4 rated.

Base has two wiring channels separated by an integral barrier and features in both channels for mounting device brackets. Each channel has a 70 mm opening and its own 70 mm cover. Divider walls snap onto the base to form additional wiring channels.

Covers have flanges for snapping onto the base.

One Piece, Single Channel Raceway: Pan-Way Office Furniture Raceway is manufactured of rigid PVC compound with a one-piece hinged design.

Application: Single channel raceway designed to route, protect and conceal data cabling.

Type/Size: Available in 6 foot lengths:

OFR: 1.88 inches by 1.71 inches deep.

Materials: Raceway and all system components must be UL Listed and exhibit non-flammable self-extinguishing characteristics, tested to comparable specifications of UL94V-0.

2.4

POWER AND COMMUNICATIONS POLES

Power and Communication Pole: Pan-Pole Power and Communication Pole is a dual-channel aluminum pole for routing both power and low voltage communication cabling. Poles are UL-5A listed to 600 V and CSA certified to 300 V and comes with a blank non-metallic cover. Electrical outlets are pre-wired.

Application: Dual-channel aluminum pole for routing both power and low voltage communication cabling. Equipped with pre-terminated electrical outlets and provides channel separation for the installation of communication cabling and modules.

Materials: UL and CSA rated 600 V.

Description:

Poles available in 11 foot or 13 foot lengths.

Cross sectional area of 2.90 inches by 1.77 inches (74.0 mm by 45 mm) with two separate compartments.

One compartment is factory wired with two duplex-style 20A, 125V NEMA 5-20R grounding-type specification grade receptacles, and colored, to match the pole finish. Receptacles are UL tested to meet the performance requirements of Fed. Spec. W-C695G General Specification for Electrical Power Connectors and conform to NEMA specification WD 1-7.01 to 7.10 "Heavy Duty General Use Grounding Receptacle". Receptacles shall also be UL Listed and be in compliance with UL-498.

Harness is a single circuit (2 conductor plus ground) with #12 AWG solid type THHN conductors, factory assembled to the receptacles. Six Conductor leads, 6 inch, are furnished for termination to the overhead wiring system. A power entry box with 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch conduit breakouts and 8 inch removable plate is required at the top of the power compartment to facilitate the hard wiring of the pole harness.

Second compartment for field installation of telephone or data network cabling. Provide with removable non-metallic blank plastic cover to enclose the channel that is easily cut to create an opening for installation of communications faceplates. Channel accepts Snap-On communication faceplates or a standard faceplate bracket capable of mounting a NEMA standard single-gang communications faceplate and is capable of mounting up to 6 communication faceplates, providing up to 24 communication ports.

Hardware includes entrance end fitting, which protects cable bend radius, for the top of the pole, ceiling trim plate, pole mounting bracket, Velcro carpet gripper pad, and adhesive pads.

PART 3

EXECUTION

3.1

EXAMINATION

Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

Verify routing locations and termination locations of raceway prior to installation.

If substrate preparation or interferences are the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2

PREPARATION

Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3

INSTALLATION

Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

Install all components necessary to make a complete, code-compliant installation.

Provide accessories as required for a complete installation.

Close unused raceway openings using manufacturer's recommended accessories.

3.4

PROTECTION

Protect installed products until completion of project.

Clean exposed surfaces using non-abrasive materials and methods recommended by manufacturer.

Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
