          1.4DESIGN / PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
 
          A.Electrical Raceways, Boxes, and Components: Comply with requirements of applicable local codes, NEC, UL, CSA and NEMA Standards pertaining to raceways, boxes and components. Listed in accordance with NFPA 70, Article 386.
 
          1.5SUBMITTALS
 
          A.Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
 
          B.Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
          1.Preparation instructions and recommendations.
          2.Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
          3.Installation methods.
 
          C.Shop Drawings: Show complete layout, with locations of raceway components, devices indicated by type, and circuits identified.
 
          D.Verification Samples: For each finish product specified, two samples, minimum size 6 inches (150 mm) long, representing actual product, color, and shape.
 
          E.Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.
 
          1.6QUALITY ASSURANCE
 
          A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Firm regularly engaged in manufacture of raceway systems, boxes and fittings of the types and sizes required.
 
          1.7DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.
 
          C.Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature and construction operations.
 
          1.8COORDINATION
 
          A.Coordinate Work with other operations and installation of finish materials to avoid damage to installed materials.
 
          B.Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.
 
          1.9CLOSEOUT SUBMITTALS

          2.1MANUFACTURERS

          2.2MATERIALS
 
          A.General: Panduit Metal Raceway System is listed by Underwriter's Laboratories UL5 and by Canadian Standards Association C22.2 No. 62-93, 600VAC. Surface metal raceway is for use in dry interior locations only as Covered in Article 386 of the National Electrical Code, as adopted by the National Fire Protection Association and approved by the American National Standards Institute.
 
          B.Raceway: Raceway shall be a two-piece design with a base and tamper proof snap-on cover and that maintains complete separation of the power and data channels. Raceway base shall be available in 10 foot lengths, with cover and divider available in 5 foot lengths.

          2.Type: Panduit PMR5; 0.86 inch (21.7 mm) wide by 0.60 inch (15 mm) deep; 0.04 inch (1.0 mm) wall thickness; one-piece design; Galvanized steel fittings; paintable using latex paint.
          3.Type: Panduit PMR7; 0.86 inch (21.7 mm) wide by 0.72 inch (18 mm) deep; 0.04 inch (1.0 mm) wall thickness; one-piece design; Galvanized steel fittings; paintable using latex paint.
          4.Type: Panduit PMR40; 5.04 inch (128 mm) wide by 1.61 inch (41 mm) deep; 0.05 inch (1.4 mm) wall thickness; two-piece design with base and flanged full-length snap-on cover; complete separation of power and data channels by full-length snap-in steel divider capable of dividing into two channels; Galvanized steel fittings; paintable using latex paint.

          C.Fittings: A full complement of fittings shall be available including flat, internal, and external elbows, tees with inserts to separate power and data cabling, entrance fittings, cover couplers, base couplers, and end caps.
 
          D.Device Brackets and Plates: Provide in sizes to match raceway width and with mounting holes located to ensure proper mounting of devices in up to 2 compartments.
 
          E.Communications Devices and Accessories: Raceway shall accommodate a complete line of connectivity outlets and modular inserts for UTP (including Category 5, 5e, 6 and 6a) STP (150 ohm) fiber optic, coaxial, and other cabling types with matching faceplates and bezels to facilitate mounting. Where indicated provide connectivity outlets and modular inserts by Panduit or approved equal.
 
          PART 3EXECUTION
 
          3.1EXAMINATION
 
          A.Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
 
          B.Verify routing locations and termination locations of raceway prior to installation.
 
          C.If substrate preparation or interferences are the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
 
          3.2PREPARATION
 
          A.Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
 
          B.Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
 
          3.3INSTALLATION
 
          A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
 
          B.Install all components necessary to make a complete, code-compliant installation.
 
          C.Raceway systems shall be mechanically continuous and connected to all electrical outlets, boxes, device mounting brackets, and cabinets, in accordance with manufacturer's installation sheets.
 
          D.Raceway shall be electrically continuous and bonded in accordance with the National Electric Code for proper grounding.
 
          E.Raceway shall be supported at intervals not exceeding 4 feet or in accordance with manufacturer's installation sheets.
 
          F.Provide accessories as required for a complete installation, including insulated bushings and inserts where required by manufacturer.
 
          G.Close unused raceway openings using manufacturer's recommended accessories.
 
          3.4PROTECTION
 
          A.Protect installed products until completion of project.
 
          B.Clean exposed surfaces using non-abrasive materials and methods recommended by manufacturer.
 
          C.Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
