          1.5QUALITY ASSURANCE

          1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
 
          A.Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.
 
          B.Store and dispose of solvent-based materials, and materials used with solvent-based materials, in accordance with requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction.
 
          1.7PROJECT CONDITIONS
 
          A.Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
 
          1.8WARRANTY
 
          A.Product is warranted free of defects in material or workmanship.
 
          B.Product is warranted to perform the intended function within design limits.
 
          C.Field-applied paint coatings on raceway, boxes, plates or fittings shall be excluded from raceway manufacturer's warranty.

          D.Installed components shall be granted a full link or channel warranty by Hubbell Premise Wiring under the conditions stated below.

          3.The link or channel components are supplied entirely by Hubbell (including patch cords for channel).
          4.Cable used in the installation is qualified and recognized by Hubbell.
          5.Links or channels in the installation are properly documented and tested with a "PASS" result.
          6.Required test results and project documentation is submitted to Hubbell by the registered contractor.

          2.1MANUFACTURERS

          2.2SURFACE RACEWAYS FOR COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
 
          A.Performance and Design Requirements:
          1.Raceway shall meet UL requirements for crush resistance to 300 lb (136 kg) distributed load.
          2.Raceway shall have a UL/CSA rating of 600 volts safe operating range.
          3.Raceway shall exceed all mechanical and environmental requirements of UL 5A, and shall be UL Listed and CSA certified.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Non-metallic raceway is an enclosed pathway used for surface distribution of branch circuit electrical wiring, and cabling for voice, data, multi-media, low voltage, and optical fiber. Raceway is typically installed in existing building structures, or after construction is complete. A complete raceway system includes raceway, covers, mounting hardware, various fittings, and outlet boxes installed at specific locations. Specific codes and standards apply to electrical wires and telecommunications cables that are deployed within non-metallic raceway. Codes that are enforced by the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) must be observed during construction. Delete if not required.
 
          B.Raceway, Non-Metallic:
          1.Raceway material shall be a UV-stabilized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compound, with UL94-V0 flammability rating.

          C.Raceway, Metal:
          1.Metal raceway, cover, surface boxes, shall be a formed steel construction with a thickness of .040 inch (1 mm), and zinc plated. Related fittings shall be galvanized on all surfaces.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Aluminum Raceway is an enclosed pathway used for surface distribution of branch circuit electrical wiring, and cabling for voice, data, multi-media, low voltage, and optical fiber. Raceway is typically installed in existing building structures, or after construction is complete. Specific codes and standards apply to electrical wires and telecommunications cables that are deployed within metal raceway.           D.Raceway, Aluminum,
          1.Raceway base and cover shall be an extruded aluminum construction with satin anodized finish on all surfaces.
          2.Extruded raceway base and cover shall be made of 6063-T5 aluminum alloy, with a nominal wall thickness of .080 inch (2 mm).

          2.3CABINET, RACKS, FRAMES AND ENCLOSURES
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Communications cabinets are floor-standing or wall-mounted enclosures that hold active network equipment and cable distribution systems and connections. Enclosures in the Equipment Room (ER) hold equipment that feeds the backbone cabling in the building. Enclosures in the Telecommunications Room (TR) hold equipment that feeds horizontal cabling in the building. Enclosures of the proper design are permitted to serve as a TR when building space is limited. Installation of communications enclosures requires design approval of the location and correct preparation of mounting surfaces. Compliance to codes and standards is required for construction, grounding and bonding, and cable deployment.
 
          A.Performance and Design Requirements:
          1.Cabinets shall be UL LISTED 1863.
          2.Cabinet shall have dedicated bonding points for proper grounding according to ANSI-J-STD-607A.
          3.Cabinet door shall have grounding and bonding provisions according to Telcordia GR 487-CORE Section 3.15.
          4.Installed cabinets shall perform to NEMA 2 rating.
 
          B.Cabinets: Size and components as scheduled on drawings.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Delete cabinet not required.
          1.Product: Wall Mount Design shall be a three piece modular swivel-type, 14 gage (1.897 mm) steel, reinforced welded enclosure with a removable front door, and removable rear section. Each basic unit shall consist of: (1) rear section, (1) center section with locks, (1) front door, (1) top plate (1) bottom plate, (2) 19 inches (483 mm) panel-mounting rails, and (2) hinge pins with cotter pins. QUADCAB as manufactured by Hubbell-Premise, Inc.
          2.Product: Floor Mount Design shall be a three piece modular swivel-type, 14 gage (1.897 mm) steel, reinforced welded enclosure with a removable front door, and removable rear section with mobile base for floor mounting.           C.Remote Equipment Cabinets:
          1.Product: Design shall be a one-piece, 16-gage (1.519 mm) steel, reinforced welded enclosure with a pre-configured left-hinged door. Unit shall include: (1) wall mount enclosure body with vented door assembled, with (2) sets of universal #12-24 tapped mounting rails for communications equipment, (2) sets of hub mounting brackets, (2) NSQ locks, and (1) set of panel mounting brackets. iFRAME as manufactured by Hubbell-Premise, Inc.

          D.Racks and Frames:
          1.Communications racks shall be UL LISTED 7N69.
          2.Product: Design shall be a structural aluminum construction, having two 3-inches (76 mm) wide vertical rail channels with a two-piece angle base and two top angle frame members. Rack shall consist of: (2) vertical rails, (2) base angles, (1) assembly hardware kit, (2) top angles, and (20) #12-24 dog point machine screws for panel mounting. NEXTFRAME as manufactured by Hubbell-Premise, Inc.
          a."C" Channel Vertical Cable Organizers and covers as scheduled.

          E.Enclosures:
          1.Enclosures as manufactured by Hubbell-Premise, Inc.
          2.Design and Performance Requirements:
          a.Residential network enclosures shall comply with applicable requirements of ANSI/TIA/EIA-570-B, Grade 1 or Grade 2.
          b.Communications enclosures shall be UL and CUL listed.
          c.Telephone modules shall meet FCC Part 68 requirements.
          d.Category 5e data modules shall comply with the performance requirements of ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B.2.
          e.Receptacle outlets shall meet NEMA 5-15 requirements.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Residential small office/home office (SOHO) enclosures are used as a central distribution device (DD) for voice, data, and multimedia cabling. Horizontal distribution cables from the DD are terminated at the desired wall outlets throughout the residence or small office. Residential enclosures in this specification are either flush mounted between 16-inch stud centers, or surface mounted on a wall. These enclosures accept a variety of modular devices to provide a flexible combination of voice, data, video, security, and home automation functions throughout the dwelling. Delete if not required.
          3.Residential Enclosure as manufactured by Hubbell-Premise, Inc.
          a.Residential network enclosures shall be constructed of 18-gage (1.214 mm) cold- rolled steel, with a white electrostatic powder coat finish. Residential enclosures shall be supplied complete with hinged cover, detailed instructions, adhesive-backed label, cable ties, and spare push pins.
          b.Enclosures shall have mounting holes to accept a standard 89-D bracket that accommodates multiple user-specified connectors. Separate 89-D brackets shall be available either pre-loaded with Category 5e modules, or 66 cross-connect blocks, or be available un-loaded with 12 port openings to accommodate various jacks, and snap-in audio, video, or fiber optic connectors. Refer to drawing schedule for type.
          c.Enclosures shall have provisions for mounting optional 120v AC duplex power receptacle outlet. Separate power receptacle outlets shall be available in standard 15A/120V, with or without surge suppression. Refer to drawing schedule for type.
          d.Enclosures shall have integral slots to accept cable management hardware to properly dress cable installation and bend radius.
          e.Enclosures shall have provisions to accept a standard 66-style blank module that will accommodate active data switching and audio components.
          f.Enclosures shall be available without component modules, or pre-configured with a basic 8-port telephone panel and a 1:4 coax splitter module installed.
          ** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Consolidation Point (CP) enclosures are used for a local zone distribution point for passive horizontal cabling in a small office. Horizontal cables entering the CP originate from the telecommunications room (TR). Horizontal cable runs that exit the CP are terminated at the local workstation outlets. CP enclosures in this specification are either flush mounted between 16-inch stud centers, or surface mounted on a wall. A CP will accept a variety of interconnect panels, 110 termination blocks, and fiber adapter panels to deliver multi-media cabling to the workstation outlet. Delete if not required.
          4.Consolidation Point - Zone Wall Mount Boxes: Consolidation point (CP) enclosures shall be constructed of 16 ga (1.519 mm) cold- rolled steel, with zinc galvanized finish. CP enclosures shall have a removable front cover, constructed of 20 ga (.912 mm) cold rolled steel. Overall dimensions of the enclosure shall be 21 inches (533 mm) high, by 14.5 inches (368 mm) wide, with a 4.5 inches (114 mm) deep.
