** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** L&M CURE R is a water-borne, dissipating resin curing system to be used in general conditions and where compatibility with subsequent toppings must be assured. DRESS & SEAL is multi-function acrylic curing and sealing material, available in low or high solid contents, solvent carried or water-borne formulations.
LUMISEAL PLUS is a non-yellowing acrylic curing and sealing that conforms to ASTM C1315 Class A and is recommended for exposed aggregate, stained and stamped concrete. LUMISEAL is also available in both high and low solids, and solvent carried and water-borne formulas.
All products comply with current national VOC regulations, but some state and local regulations are more restrictive regarding curing and sealing compounds and should be referred to. Delete product not required.

2.2
MATERIALS
A.
Dissipating Resin-Based, Membrane Forming Curing Compound: CURE R by L&M Construction Chemicals. Material will degrade when exposed to ultraviolet light and abrasion, but care shall be taken to completely remove the film mechanically prior to application of subsequent toppings or coatings. Complies with all local and state air quality regulations. Complies with ASTM C309, Type 1.
B.
Acrylic Cure-Sealer-Dustproofer: : DRESS & SEAL by L&M Construction Chemicals. First coat as a curing compound; second coat shall be used as sealer coat. Shall comply with local VOC requirements and ASTM C1315 Type 1, Class B (minimal yellowing).

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Use DRESS & SEAL WB (ASTM C 309) or DRESS & SEAL WB 30(ASTM C 1315) when air quality regulations require a water-based, low odor material.

C.
Non-Yellowing Acrylic Cure-Sealer-Dustproofer: LUMISEAL PLUS by L&M Construction Chemicals. Conforms to ASTM C1315 Type 1, Class A. (Non-yellowing). Second coat to be used as sealer coat.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Use LUMISEAL WB (ASTM C 309) or LUMISEAL WB PLUS (ASTM C 1315) when air quality regulations require a water- based, low odor material.

D.
Exterior Concrete Pavement Curing: L&M CURE W2 by L&M Construction Chemicals. White pigmented, membrane forming curing compound. Complies with all local and state air quality regulations and with ASTM C 309, Type 2.
PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
3.2
APPLICATION
A.
Apply specified membrane forming curing compound to concrete after final finishing operations and concrete surface glaze has disappeared.
B.
Concrete shall be protected from premature or excessive drying temperature extremes and damage immediately following finishing. Minimal moisture loss at relatively constant temperature shall be maintained.
C.
Curing shall be maintained for a minimum of seven days or until seventypercent of the specified concrete strength has been obtained.
D.
During curing period, concrete shall be protected from damage by equipment, temperature change, stored materials, jobsite activities, rain, and running water.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** In areas where a subsequent topping is scheduled, such as SEAL HARD, we recommend wet curing the concrete or covering the concrete with waterproof paper or fabric. It is acceptable under certain conditions to apply a membrane, resin based cure such as L&M CURE R only at a higher application rate of 400-450 square feet per gallon (10-12.5 square meters per liter) to minimize removal costs, but care must be taken to insure complete removal of the curing compound. Contact the L&M Technical department for details.

3.3
FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
A.
Examine the curing compound work to determine if the concrete is suitably protected by the material.
