CavClear's original products (Insulation System, Masonry and Stone Mats) were invented and patented by an architect in response to concerns about the importance of maintaining a completely clear air space while working on masonry designs. Keeping excess mortar and other construction debris out of the drainage area need to be a priority at the job site. The inventor thought, "If there was just a fail-safe way for maintaining the air space, then not only would mortar waste and other debris be minimized, but the drainage wall would function properly and the masonry design would not suffer costly moisture problems." Once the products were designed and patented, many additional benefits began to surface, and the CavClear product line was born.
The CavClear team along with Archovations, Inc. keeps abreast of new technologies insuring CavClear continues to be the leader in the industry through the update and development of existing and new product lines.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** It is important to design and construct an effective rainscreen system that will provide a means for drainage and ventilation. Moisture will find its way into exterior wall systems by way of gaps, penetrations, cracks in the surface of the cladding material, and cracked mortar joints. Since it provides the drainage and ventilation function for the system, CavClear(R) Rainscreen Drainage Mat is an integral part of a successful rainscreen wall design. CavClear Rainscreen Drainage Mat is designed to be installed behind manufactured or thinset stone, stucco, cedar and lap siding applications to manage moisture and vapor. Delete if not required.

2.2
RAINSCREEN DRAINAGE MATS
A.
Basis of Design: Rainscreen Drainage Mat HD as manufactured by CavClear / Archovations, Incorporated.
1.
Drainage Mat: An open space design of 95 percent creates a continuous capillary break and channel for moisture to drain and accelerate drying exterior cladding assemblies. Durable polymer material is resistant to most corrosive chemicals and is not a food source for mold or mildew. 2-ply design features a backer fabric to improve tensile and compressive strength and serve as an integrated insect screen.
2.
Core Material: Recycled polymeric content.
