QUALITY ASSURANCE
A.
Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum 5 year experience manufacturing similar products.
B.
Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 year experience installing similar products.

PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS
A.
Convene minimum two weeks prior to starting work of this section.
1.7
DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A.
General: Comply with Division 1 Product Requirements Section.
B.
Delivery: Deliver materials in manufacturer's original, unopened, undamaged containers with identification labels intact.
C.
Storage and Protection: Store materials protected from exposure to harmful environmental conditions and at temperature and humidity conditions recommended by the manufacturer.

Store all products in a dry location until use.
1.8
PROJECT CONDITIONS
A.
Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
1.9
SEQUENCING
A.
Ensure that products of this section are supplied to affected trades in time to prevent interruption of construction progress.
1.10
WARRANTY
A.
Project Warranty: Refer to Conditions of the Contract for project warranty provisions.
B.
Manufacturer's Warranty: Submit, for Owner's acceptance, manufacturer's standard warranty document executed by authorized company official. Manufacturer's warranty is in addition to, and not a limitation of, other rights Owner may have under contract documents.

Standard Specification for Latex Sealants (ASTM C834): Grade -18 degrees C.
a.
Extrudability (ASTM C1183 Method B): >=2.1 g/s Extrusion Rate.
b.
Artificial Weathering (ASTM C732 500 Hours): No wash-out, slump, or cracking. Also <=25% total bond area loss.
c.
Volume Shrinkage (ASTM C1241 Type OP): <=30% volume shrinkage.
d.
Low Temperature Flexibility (ASTM C734): Grade -18 degrees C, no adhesion loss or cracking through to substrate after 500 hours.
e.
Recovery and Adhesion Loss (ASTM C736): >=75% recovery and <=25% total bond area loss.

PART 3 EXECUTION
 
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
Site Verification of Conditions: Verify that substrate conditions, which have been previously installed under other sections, are acceptable for product installation in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
3.2
PREPARATION
A.
Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
B.
Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3
SEALANT INSTALLATION
A.
Compliance: Comply with manufacturer's product data, including product technical bulletins, product catalog installation instructions and product carton instructions for installation.
B.
Follow all OSHA guidelines when completing any construction project.
C.
Clean surfaces so they are free from dirt, grease, wax, dust, corrosion, moisture or any material that may interfere with obtaining optimum adhesion.
D.
Apply a full 1/8 to 1/4 inch (3 mm to 6 mm) bead to seal openings where wall meets the ceiling, floor and adjoining walls, to the perimeter of all cut-outs including those for outlet boxes, pipes, conduit, and vents.
E.
Make sure the joint is completely filled. It is recommended to push sealant into the joint with a finger. For ease of clean up, wear disposable gloves during installation.
F.
Clean up excess with putty knife and/or soap and water.

3.4
UNDERLAYMENT INSTALLATION
A.
Compliance: Comply with manufacturer's product data, including product technical bulletins, product catalog installation instructions and product carton instructions for installation.
B.
Installation:
1.
Remove the release paper.
2.
Inspect the fire rated outlet box to make sure it is properly installed and free of free of dust, grease, oil, loose materials, rust or other substances.
3.
Starting at side, align the putty pad to front edge of box and overlap onto the stud.
4.
Cut the putty pad to allow the pad to fit around conduits or cables.
5.
Pleat the extra material at the corners.
6.
Fold the pleated corners into place and firmly press the putty pad into place so that the entire surface of the back of the outlet box is covered.
3.5
PROTECTION
A.
Protect installed products until completion of project.
B.
Touch up, repair or replace damaged products prior to Substantial Completion.
