PART 3 EXECUTION
 
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
B.
If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
3.2
PREPARATION
A.
Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.
B.
Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.
3.3
INSTALLATION
A.
Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B.
Install window and door units plumb, level and square with no distortion of frame members.
C.
Use anchorage devices to securely fasten door assembly to wall construction without distortion or imposed stresses.
D.
Fill perimeter frame to wall opening cavity with batt insulation. Do not use expansive foam insulation.
E.
Apply approved sealant in accordance with Section 07 90 00 - Joint Protection
F.
Installation of door lock cylinder hardware is specified in Section 08 71 53 - Security Door Hardware.
G.
Do not puncture prefinished exterior surfaces. Refer to installation instructions for complete installation recommendations.
3.4
ADJUSTING AND CLEANING
A.
Adjust operating sash and hardware to provide tight fit at contact points and at the weather stripping for smooth operation.

B.
After installation adjust door units for proper operation, without binding, sticking, or racking.
