QUALITY ASSURANCE
A.
Manufacturer's Qualifications: Minimum 3 years producing types of products specified.
 
** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Include a mock-up if the project size and/or quality warrant taking such a precaution. The following is one example of how a mock-up on a large project might be specified. When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
B.
Mock-Up: After approval of shop drawings, provide a mock up of the specified ceiling to demonstrate aesthetic effect and set quality standard for fabrication and installation.
1.
Finish areas designated by Architect. Mock-up shall be installed in an area where it can become part of the final installation.
2.
Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship and appearance are approved by Architect.
3.
Modify mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.
1.6
DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A.
Deliver, store and handle materials and products in strict compliance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations and industry standards.
B.
Store products indoors in manufacturer's or fabricator's original containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product name and manufacturer. Lay components on flat surface. Protect from damage.

PROJECT CONDITIONS
A.
Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.
1.8
SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
A.
Conference: Convene a pre-installation conference to establish procedures to maintain optimum working conditions and to coordinate this work with related and adjacent work.
1.9
WARRANTY
A.
Warranty: Provide manufacturer's standard limited 25-year warranty, for materials and workmanship and that system will remain impervious to water and moisture.

PART 3 EXECUTION
 
3.1
EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION
A.
Prepare substrates using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving best result for the substrates under project conditions.
B.
Do not proceed with installation until substrates have been prepared using the methods recommended by the manufacturer and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected. Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of conditions.
C.
If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect in writing of deviations from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.
3.2
INSTALLATION
A.
Installation: Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions including the following:
1.
If products have been stored in severe cold temperatures, allow components to acclimatize to room temperature according to manufacturer's instructions.
2.
Allow for thermal expansion and contraction as recommended by manufacturer.
a.
Punch elongated holes in main rails with vinyl siding hole punch prior to attachment.
b.
Use screws with washers and only use enough torque to secure main rails to joist, yet allowing for movement of main rails for thermal expansion.
3.
Install wall trim without bulging, with mitered or overlapping joints.
4.
Install second rail, main rail and seam rails in accordance with approved shop drawings.
5.
Install in proper relationship with adjacent construction, lighting fixtures and other ceiling mounted items.
3.3
PROTECTION
A.
Protect installed products until completion of project.
B.
Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
