Designmaster Fence is a welded wire fencing system for residential, commercial and industrial fencing projects. The Designmaster Fence system consists of panels, posts, steel brackets, gates and other fencing accessories. Designmaster Fence has several advantages when compared with chain link or iron fencing such as: easy to install, blends with the landscape, long lasting, price competitive, durable and comes with a ten year warranty. Verification Samples: For each system specified, representing actual colors, finishes, and types to be installed.

QUALITY ASSURANCE
A.
Installer Qualifications: Minimum 2 years documented experience in applications with similar scope and materials.

When deciding on the extent of the mock-up, consider all the major different types of work on the project.
 
B.
Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.

Construct areas designated by Architect.
2.
Size: Minimum 16 feet (4.9 m) long x full height.
3.
Show: Fence posts, panels, and accessories.
4.
Do not proceed with remaining work until material, details, workmanship, color are approved by Architect.
5.
Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.6
DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A.
Comply with manufacturer's recommendations for delivery, storage and handling.

Materials shall be delivered to the location in unopened, labeled factory containers. Upon delivery, materials shall be inspected for damage. Deficient materials shall not be used.
C.
Materials shall be stored under condition within manufacturer's absolute limits for environmental conditions.

A.
Fence Panels:
1.
Resistance Welded Steel Wire Mesh: ASTM A 185/A 185M, 6 gauge Class 1 galvanized steel wire per ASTM A641/A641M, 2 inch x 6 inch (51 mm x 152 mm) mesh, stiffened with horizontal V-shaped braces.
2.
Wire Breaking Load: Minimum 80, 000 PSI.
3.
Weld Shears Strength: Minimum 1,050 pounds.

Height: 2 feet (610 mm).
5.
Height: 4 feet (1219 mm).

3.
Length: To suit panel height and post mounting method.
4.
Post Caps: Ultraviolet-protected plastic, sized to post dimensions, friction fit.

Post Bases: Steel plate welded to bottom of posts, with four plated steel anchor bolts per base.

Hinges: Heavy duty industrial type, adjustable.

Finish: Polyester powder coated to approximately 4 mils thickness.

Salt Spray Resistance: No rusting or blistering tested to ASTM B117 for 1000 hours.
3.
Adhesion: Tested to ASTM D3359, Method B.

Color: Forest Green.

2.4
ACCESSORlES
A.
Concrete for Fence Foundations: In accordance with ASTM C94; minimum 2500 PSI compressive strength at 28 days, 3 to 5 inch slump; refer also to Section 03 30 00 - Cast-in-Place Concrete.
PART 3 EXECUTION
 
3.1
EXAMINATION
A.
Do not begin installation until substrates are within manufacturer's specified tolerances and have been prepared in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
B.
If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, do not proceed with installation. Notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation immediately.
C.
Commencement of work is deemed as acceptance of installation conditions.

3.2
INSTALLATION - POSTS SET IN CONCRETE
A.
Install fencing in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and approved Shop Drawings.
B.
Drill post holes into undisturbed or compacted soil, with diameter equal to 3 times post diameter.
C.
Set posts with bottom of hole 3 inches below bottom of post. Excavate deeper in soft or loose soils and for posts with heavy lateral loads.
D.
Place concrete around posts in continuous pour, tamp and dome top away from post. Check for vertical and top alignment; brace posts until concrete has set.

E.
Footings: Pour top of footings 2 inches below finished grade.
F.
Footings: Pour top of footings flush with finished grade.
G.
Footings: Pour top of footings 2 inches above finished grade.

3.3
INSTALLATION - POSTS BOLTED TO CONCRETE
A.
Install fencing in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and approved Shop Drawings.
B.
Locate and drill holes for post bases.
C.
Secure each post with four anchor bolts.
3.4
INSTALLATION TOLERANCES:
A.
Maximum Variation from Plumb: 1/4 inch in 10 feet (6 mm in 3048 mm).
B.
Maximum Offset from True Position: 1 inch (25 mm).
