Celadon ceramic slate is a unique roofing system that simulates the appearance of heavy, natural slate roofing in an interlocking ceramic roof tile. The ceramic slates are available in five natural slate colors. All Ludowici products are virtually impervious to moisture, heat and fire, and will easily withstands repeated freeze-thaw cycles for decades.

Alpine Conditions: Ludowici requires specific measures besides those included in this specification when clay roof tiles are to be used in alpine conditions. Climatic conditions of frequent heavy snowfalls alternating with strong solar radiation, as is common in high altitudes, are classified as alpine conditions. Snow guards or other devices design to prevent glaciering of snow and ice and to prevent sudden snow movement on the roof are required. Before use of clay roof tile in alpine conditions, plans with details must be approved in writing by the Ludowici Technical Department at (800) 945-8453.
