Maintenance-Free Pedestals
In 1994, Bison introduced the Screwjack pedestal to the US market. Now manufactured in Denver, Colorado, Bison pedestals have patented features that improve performance and stability. Our gravity-based pedestals quickly install without harming waterproof membranes. Bison pedestals offer the largest bearing surface area for improved support of wood tiles, stone tiles and concrete pavers.
Low-Maintenance Hardwood Decks
In 2004 Bison introduced structural wood tiles made of Brazilian Ipe and Cumaru. The dense grain makes these hardwoods nearly impervious to insect and weather damage, providing a long-term, low-maintenance solution. The system is highly rated for fire, seismic and wind conditions.

In 2009 Bison became FSC®-certified and now sources FSC® wood tiles. Bison executives travel to Brazil to ensure Ipe and Massaranduba hardwood used comes from forests implementing sustainable and FSC®-certified forestry practices that maintain the health of the rainforests and economic viability of local communities.

Adjustable Deck Supports for Rooftop Deck Applications - Versadjust
Precise spacer tabs allow for deck drainage, and the screw-to-adjust height setting assures a perfectly straight and level deck. Quick clip couplers increase the speed and efficiency installing pedestals at heights over 9 3/4". Works with concrete, stone pavers or wood tiles. Accessories are available to compensate for additional slope and accommodate heights from 1/8" to 2 1/4". Adjustable Deck Supports - Level.It
One simple Level.it model LC covers heights from 2″ - 4 3/4". Additional accessories are available to compensate for slope and accomodate heights from 1/8″ up to 12″. Model LC supports up to 750 lbs. with FS (Factor of Safety) of 2. Ideal for contractors or the do-it-yourself homeowner.
Deck Supports for Heavy Pavers - Screwjack
The Bison Screwjack pedestal has a broad footprint that provides stability, is impervious to freeze thaw cycles, and offers a range of heights suited to almost any application. The Bison Screwjack pedestal (B-Series) reaches from 0 - 16' in height. Add bracing and couplers to reach up to 24' in height and the Weight Bearing Design Capacity is 1000 lbs/pedestal FS:2.

Bison 2' x 2' smooth 5 plank genuine Mahogany wood tiles are harvested from government regulated Fijian plantations. The forests are closely regulated, adhere to strict performance requirements, are Lacey Act compliant, and are CITES exempt. The Mahogany wood tiles can be easily stained to match interior flooring or to match specific color requirements. Bison 2' x 2' smooth 4 plank fused Bamboo tiles are constructed from dasso.XTR Fused Bamboo™ that is manufactured using dasso's patented process, which combines two stages of high heat to carbonize the bamboo, removing all of the starch and sugar, and then restructuring the bamboo, reinforcing its natural strength characteristics. The modified bamboo strands are fused together using phenolic resin ™ the same resin used to make bowling balls. The result is an extremely dense, durable, exterior-use product composed of 87% natural, fused strand bamboo fibers and 13% resin. Modular parklets can be constructed in parking spaces to create public space in urban areas.
Bison Innovative Products is an integral player in the push to reclaim car-designated zones in urban areas for pedestrian use. Bison products were among the first to debut in San Francisco and New York in programs like "Pavement to Parks" or parklets. These streetscapes can vary in size from a one-car parking space of about 150 sf to many spaces linked together, to a whole block or lane.
Installations include Bison Versadjust deck supports with wood tiles, ceramic, or concrete tile surfaces covering the existing pavement or parking space. Popular Bison accessories include attachment hardware, Bison aluminum planters, railing, and benches. Bison has the unique advantage of offering all the built elements required for a park installation. This creates a smooth installation as well as offering a consistent warranty for the entire system.
