Soil creates nearly 40 pcf of lateral pressure. If a structure is below ground level, this lateral pressure increases by a factor of 10. There is no easier or faster way to take the slope out of an existing theater floor for retail conversion then the use of tapered EPS Geofoam. The blocks are delivered to the site, pre-cut, and ready to put into place.
New concrete slabs can then be installed on top of the newly leveled surface. When a project calls for stadium seating, Shelter EPS Geofoam is the economical solution.
Forms are placed in front of the risers and the concrete is poured. The structure is much lighter, construction is faster, saves time, and reduces costs.
